Chapitre 42: Horned rabbits
Eva looked around at the green grass. She then glared back at the city and then looked at Cael, "Didn't we forget to buy him a weapon?"
Cael looked surprised, "Oh, I must have forgotten since I was so irritated with him, let's head back quickly." He turned around.
Hades didn't seem that excited to return, he instead looked at a three. "I can use this."
With a powerful jump and [Repulsion] Hades leaped up breaking one of the three branches.
THUD! Landing with it, "I will use this!" He swung it around.
"A stick? What are you an ape?" Cael looked at him with a puzzled face, "OUCH!" Eva smacked him on the head. "There are a lot of club fighters out there."
Cael scratched his head as he turned to face her, one of his eyes closed as he tried to mitigate the pain in his head, "What did you hit me with? And clubs are bad weapons."
Eva was holding a small white pebble in her hand and she glared at him. Cael took a step back. She swung her arm throwing the pebble at his head. "AWE!" He cried, "Stop!"
Eva pulled more stones and started stoning him like no tomorrow. Hades approached them, "Do you have a knife or a small axe? I want to clear this branch a bit…"
The two of them stopped playing and Cael handed Hades his dagger, "Use this, make sure you get a good grip."
After making his wooden stick, Cael and Hades took the lead while Eva followed behind them and kept an eye on the back. They are here on a small mission but something big might appear.
"Say, why aren't we entering the forest?" Hades asked looking at Cael.
"Monsters usually avoid human roads, if we wanted to find the herbivores like Bulldeer and horned rabbits will have to go in from other ways," Cael replied pointing toward the bushes in the distance.
Hades didn't seem convinced, "I met monsters yesterday alive but we entered from the normal road."
"You can meet carnivores and omnivores."
"What do you mean by that?" Hades asked with a puzzled face, words like carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores were strange to him.
Eva was the one to explain it to him.
Herbivores are animals and monsters that only eat plants. They usually avoid people on their own, in this category we found sheep, Bulldeers, and a lot more.
Carnivores are animals and monsters that strictly eat meat. This includes monsters like wolves, dire wolves, and the like. If you saw them, a fight is inevitable.
Omnivores are animals and monsters that can eat both meat and plants. This includes horned rabbits, owlbears, bears, and even humans. The encounter is dangerous, but it can be avoided with certain things.
Lastly, there is one last category. Olaivores are the most dangerous ones. It means they can eat anything, anything from earth to stone, flesh to grass. This category includes creatures like Fen, a Fenrir, purple worms, devils, and even dragons, those last ones were but a myth though.
As they were walking, Cael suddenly ducked and signaled to Hades and Eva to stop, "Look there…" he whispered.
When Hades and Eva stopped to have a look they spotted it, a white small creature. A rabbit with a single horn on its head, calmly munching on a small frog. "Don't make any noise, we can take it out with an arrow from…" Cael tried to tell them how to hunt.
Hades didn't listen, he pointed his hand toward the rabbit, [Attraction] immediately the skill pulled the rabbit toward him at a great speed. Squeak! Hades grabbed it by the neck.
"Let go of it immediately!" Cael yelled at him but Hades smiled, "What could…AWOO!" The rabbit put his thumb off and fell to the ground, immediately rushing toward the foliage. Eva hurried to head to Hades' hand.
"Remember that horned rabbits are omnivores, they can bite you," Eva said as she used her ability [Heal] luckily the rabbit bite was a clean cut, healing him wasn't a problem.
"Bastard!" As he was healed, [Repulsion] Hades immediately blasted into the forest after the rabbit. Even though it ran away he still tracked her with his eyes. The white thing was easily tractable in the forest.
"The idiot! Why doesn't he listen?" Cael pulled his sword getting ready to chase after Hades.
Suddenly, Hades blasted again from the forest running, "Run!" He yelled as he passed by Hades and Eva.
"What?" Eva yelled at him.
"Not worth it, not worth it!" he yelled back running fast as he could.
When Cael looked into the forest, tens if not hundreds of horned rabbits rushed at them. "FUCK!" he screamed carrying Eva on his back and running as fast as he could.
"This many?" Eva gasped.
"They will eat you alive, the bastard must have reached their nest for them to react like this!" Cael screamed as he was almost out of breath.
Eva put two fingers in her mouth whistling as loud as she could. It was loud enough to hurt Cael's ears.
Back in the mansion, Raptor was eating his horse mushrooms in peace as the stable master watched him. Then suddenly, he stopped eating, NeighHHHHHHHHHHHHH! He roared with both his front legs up. From the mansion window, Fen and Mei leaped out to his back.
"Hold up, what?" the stable master gasped seeing both Fen and Mei ride Raptor.
Raptor turned and ran all the way back to his enclose, and then rushed toward the gate. BAM! He leaped over it as if it was nothing, it was shorter than the wooden spikes used to kill horses in wars.
"Call Lord William!" The stable master rushed inside to report Raptor's escape.
Raptor rushed across the city street like a lightning bolt, scarring all the people and horses passing by.
The gate guards were resting under the portcullis house when they saw Raptor coming from a distance, his facing seeming to smile at them. "Open the door!" One of them screamed that was the lord's horse. If he was rushing like that it mean he was called.
Warhorses were trained for many things. Like carrying their injured or dead rider back to the encampment, not letting enemy troops ride them, and eating only from specified people or from the grass. And, rushing when called.
In the past when called like this, it usually meant that William was surrounded and in need of a quick escape, time was of importance so Raptor became used to rushing like this.

Hades looked around as he ran, something that can be used to stop the rabbits…he then saw stones dotted all across the ground. He smiled. stopping and waiting for Cael and Eva to pass him and he then kicked the ground.
GRAAA! [Repulsion] with the kick, dust and stones were flung toward the horned rabbits' horde killing a lot of them.
But looking closer, there are still a ton of them. "OK! No!" Hades kept running, there was no way he could kill them without getting gravely injured. Those were F-rank monsters and are probably worth nothing.
It was then that Raptor, Fen and Mei reached them.
