"A bomb? A bomb in the north?" I almost raise a hand to clear out my ear, but then remember that it would appear rather unladylike. Then I wonder why I care about appearing unladylike in front of Elias.
"Abomination," he enunciates.
Focusing on the topic at hand, the name sounds reminiscent of a comic book villain, although it has been so long since I thought of those that the memory is fuzzy.
"I don't find myself familiar with that name, no," I say cautiously, but a bad feeling plagues me. "Why?"
"There have been significant efforts by my father to hush rumors of it and make it seem like nothing more than a fairytale to scare naughty children, but in fact, it's real and it plagues the woods beyond the capital. Those delays in coffee shipments are directly caused by this thing."
I wrinkle my nose. "It? And what is "it"? Quit dancing around the answer. Is "it" a rogue griffin or another beast of similar effect?"
