A gust of wind roared, and Lizard Parker let out a scream as he was knocked into the crowd.
"Damn it! I'm so mad. How did you die again... urgh!"
Realizing that he still couldn't beat Xia Luo, Lizard Parker howled at the sky in frustration, only to feel his stomach churn, and he fell to his knees, vomiting miserably.
"Are you okay?"
Suddenly, someone handed a tissue to Lizard Parker.
Lizard Parker froze as he stared at the tissue. He took it, then looked up at the elegant woman before him, stunned.
In the sunlight, the woman's long hair cascaded down like a waterfall. Her eyes were captivating, and her entire presence radiated confidence, charm, and vitality.
Despite wearing an old-fashioned floral dress from the previous century, it couldn't hide her tall figure. Her toned arms and legs revealed signs of training, showing she wasn't a fragile, helpless woman.
"Hey, have you looked enough?" An elderly Steve Rogers couldn't help but interrupt.
Lizard Parker snapped out of it, a rare shade of red coloring his green, scaly face.
"I... I've seen enough! No, sorry, I didn't mean to... Thank you for the tissue. I'll treasure it... No, wait, I didn't mean it that way..."
Seeing Lizard Parker so flustered, the woman, Peggy Carter, stifled a laugh.
"What an adorable big lizard. What's your name?"
Lizard Parker: "..."
Being called a "big lizard" didn't make him angry for some reason. Instead, he awkwardly fiddled with his fingers, looking flustered.
"My name is..."
"He's called Gecko Hottie, Peter Parker," Xia Luo helped him introduce himself.
Hearing Xia Luo's voice, Lizard Parker glared at him angrily. "You jerk! I'll tear you apart..."
"Peter Parker, huh? You seem like a kind person. Please calm down."
As soon as Peggy Carter spoke, Lizard Parker's fierce expression instantly softened, and he obediently stayed put.
"Yes, you're right. I'm very gentle... I don't lose my temper easily," Lizard Parker said with a goofy smile, scratching his head.
Seeing this, Xia Luo couldn't help but facepalm.
"So it turns out his weakness isn't Gwen, but any pretty woman. I used to think he was some tragic character. I was wrong."
Nearby, elderly Steve Rogers stroked his chin, reassessing Lizard Parker.
"He's probably never had a girlfriend. Damn, he's so pure... Now I feel guilty. I shouldn't have treated him like that last time," Steve said, his tone full of regret.
Hearing this, Xia Luo raised an eyebrow. "Old man, is that really you?" He began to wonder if he had the wrong person.
"Of course it's me. Aren't you familiar with the wrinkles on my face by now?"
"That's odd. We won last time. You should've been resurrected."
"Ha, so should you. So why are you here again?" Elder Steve's eyes were full of disdain.
Xia Luo's face darkened. "If we still have any sense of camaraderie left, let's not talk about that."
Elder Steve shook his head. "No, I have to protest about the last match."
He clenched his teeth, looking up at the sky, growing more agitated.
"Motherf—! The extra reward was Peter's Spidey-Sense! What good is that to me? I died of old age!"
"I didn't even get time to crawl out of my coffin! Tell me, what's the point of winning the resurrection match?!"
He pointed at the sky, his wrinkled face filled with righteous indignation.
Hearing this tragedy, Xia Luo couldn't help but laugh uncontrollably.
"Hahaha, this is too much! So you got resurrected, only to die again because you were too old! That's hilarious! I can't stop laughing—"
"Shut up!" Elder Steve roared, losing his temper.
At the same time, not far away, a metallic figure also couldn't help but laugh, which caused him to cough.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to, but that's just too sad. Also, you swore," Tony Stark said, his face full of amusement, though it was tinged with fondness and nostalgia.
The nanotech helmet retracted, revealing Tony's smiling face. But beneath that smile, there was a deep sense of reflection.
Elder Steve turned to look at Tony's advanced armor, his expression shifting in disbelief, though he quickly composed himself.
"Is that... you?"
He could hardly believe it, but he wasn't entirely surprised.
After all, the last time he'd seen Natasha, she was dead.
So encountering a familiar Tony here wasn't all that shocking.
"Hey, old man. Long time no see." Tony smiled slightly.
Hearing the familiar nickname, Elder Steve felt a surge of emotion.
"It's been seventy years since I last heard that nickname."
Tony shrugged. "Well, I can make sure you hear it plenty more."
"No need for that. I prefer my other nickname—America's Ass."
"You've got no ass left. It's all saggy."
"Sorry, didn't keep up with the maintenance."
The two of them chatted, exchanging stories of their experiences.
Meanwhile, Peggy Carter glanced at the several different versions of Steve present, her brow furrowing. She didn't seem particularly interested in meeting any of them.
But the Steves, on the other hand, were clearly interested in her.
"Peggy..."
"Sorry, we don't know each other. And you know what I mean," Peggy said, coldly cutting off the various Steves before turning to Xia Luo.
"You're Xia Luo Parker, right?" Her gaze softened.
Xia Luo nodded. "Yep, that's me, Spider-Man. A superhero filled with compassion. My cute nickname is Pajama Baby. But don't think this suit is just ordinary sleepwear. It's made of nanometal. Look at this fabric, feel the texture—go ahead, give it a touch—"
"No, thanks. I'll pass on that," Peggy quickly took a step back, regretting starting a conversation with someone who seemed harmless but was clearly odd.
She glanced around at the native inhabitants of Titan, her expression becoming serious. "This is Titan, a rather remarkable alien planet. Does anyone here know who Thanos is?"
"I do! Thanos is a cosmic warlord who delights in destroying civilizations and leaves no survivors."
"No, he's a devotee of the Goddess of Death."
"You're all wrong. He's the madman who collects the Infinity Stones, planning to wipe out half the universe's population."
"Thanos? In my world, he's just a sad, pathetic cosmic scavenger."
The group argued back and forth, unable to settle on a consistent description.
But Peggy could see from the looks on most people's faces that Thanos was probably a terrifying, hated figure.
Meanwhile, Tony glanced at Xia Luo.
"Spider-Man, long time no see. So what's your plan to use me this time?" He smirked.
Xia Luo felt a bit awkward. "Haha, c'mon, adults don't 'use' people. How about this time I make it up to you?"
He quickly sobered up, saying, "The mission this time is to ensure Thanos survives. Since there's no limit on how many people can win, I think we should work together to increase our chances."
No sooner had he finished speaking than a burly, hammer-wielding figure burst into laughter.
"What a joke! I am the future king of Asgard! You weak humans will only slow me down. I don't need your cooperation, for I am Thor, the God of Thunder!"
With that, he raised his hammer high, a look of arrogance on his face. The sky above them, a light purple hue, began to swirl with crackling lightning.
"Rumble!"
Lightning shot down from the sky, and the fountain beside them exploded into a cascade of water.
"Beep! Beep! Beep!"
Immediately after, the city's alarm sounded, and a group of three-meter-tall purple guards flew in on advanced vehicles.
Before Thor could say anything, they pulled out a strange device.
"Zzzzz!"
Electric currents surged, and Thor instantly convulsed, collapsing to the ground, foaming at the mouth.
The mighty God of Thunder had been shocked unconscious—again.
"Take him away. Destruction of public property. One hundred days in detention."
As the purple guards dragged the boastful Thor away, the crowd exchanged awkward glances before looking down at the identification device implanted in their wrists.
"This is our identification... and also our limiter," Xia Luo mused, deep in thought.
