A sheer pressure pushed a heavy weight upon Jack's body after the realization.
He had the same experience back then, hidden within the corroded memory of his past life on the undying war with the undead, where he led his troops to hide in the cave and pray that the giant didn't realize they were there for the whole night.
It was called 'The mercy of the night'.
Jack maintained his stance until the sunlight appeared without his view.
It might have felt like a long time, but for Jack, it was only a moment of his life.
"Puah!" His body was extremely exhausted, he then sat on the ground, feeling helpless. "What in the hellfire is that!?"
[When my database tried to comprehend the nature and appearance of the entity, my whole calculating processor froze for a solid ten seconds. Hence why I warned you to not look up, and it seemed like the cause of the error was exactly on the entity upper body part.]
"Now we know that the Level Recommendation is two hundred. Ahaha."
He repaired the improvised clothing made from large leaves and vines just for the sake of having something to cover his skin. There were quite a lot of bruises and charred skin on his back and mostly his arms. Jack hoped that if he could notice some helpful herb he knew when he went out later.
Jack used his blissful free time by continuing his jagged blade project.
Unlike the two swords with the normal handle, the other two jagged blades from the Pump were used to create a single double-bladed staff that spanned three meters total.
It was a weapon meant to inflict damage by a rotating motion, and by no means that he wanted to use it for normal purposes.
"Yep, this should do."
He then redeployed Petra Tentacle on the clearer area with less grass. The tentacle swayed left and right like a single tall grass.
Jack then placed the double blade staff onto the suckers side. The Petra Tentacle instinctively grabbed the weapon tightly and was left confused.
[I'm puzzled with what you're trying to do, Jack.]
"Hmm, I'm imagining this one to grab the staff and spin extremely fast like a drunk windmill. Just annihilating everything like what that giant cat did yesterday.." Jack chuckled. "It seems like it might be not smart enough to do it, though."
[It doesn't even know what a weapon is, Jack. Although, I could see that it started to develop onto how it could be used, looking at how it kept grabbing the staff_
[You did use the tentacle to hold the wood to deliver the final blow. Now, it's curious about the concept of weapons now.]
"Do you think that it could grasp the concept if I kept using it to hold a weapon as my body part?"
[It will, but not as fast as when it was forced to take it as an independent individual on a foreign surface. In the other hand, the tentacle won't adapt to a new habit if there is no stimulus given by its surroundings_
[It also mostly depends on the trait it had.]
"Ohoho, time for another hunt to teach this bad boy some slashing action, then." Jack took the double-bladed staff again. "Petra has a calm trait. It means that it wasn't easily aggroed by unnecessary distraction, finding the best solution with the best method when the hammer strikes.
[Once again, your analogy is confusing, Jack.]
Before he wanted to check the pelt from the giant panther he skinned, Jack looked to the mountainous doman on the southwest. He still remembered the gargantuan creature that was covering the whole view.
After managing the pelt placement, he redeployed the Petra Tentacle to his tailbone again. A comfortable placement as the muscle nerves were instantly connected to the spine. Using the forest vines, he strapped the double bladed staff while carrying the dual jagged sword on hands.
It might only be one day he arrived at the Galamor Forest, but the tenacious unintentional exploration he did by the guerilla crafting did make him memorize a few places and which monsters occupied those territories.
"I remembered that there were some prehistoric animals roaming this way yesterday." He saw fresh trails of footprints of birds on the ground. "This forest is weird."
Jack followed the trail. He then stumbled upon a nest of numerous bipedal small dinosaurs. Hiding from a far away bushes, he could see 20 of them roaming around the vast place.
It felt more like a mini village instead of a nest. Then 8 of them arrived on the other side, dragging a dead body of a giant bear.
'These creatures, they were definitely intelligent for managing a community like this.'
[I bet that they will have some funny names.]
Jack reluctantly grinned. 'Here, I'm thinking about how to find out their weakness, and here you're making fun of their unknown species name.'
He still had his battle experience from the past but he didn't know if his current strength would suffice on taking at least ten of them down. He did think of some scenario where he could conquer the whole area, but his current tentacle's intelligence wouldn't probably be enough to pull those off.
Jack marked this area on his head. He named this village of small dinosaurs a 'Cuckoo Village'. He might come back here later if there is the need to.
[Now you're doing the world a favor, by giving their home a funny name.]
Jack did the same unamused grin again. "Cuckoo is a real animal back in my hometown, dumbass. It's a big ground bird with numerous fan-shaped feathers on their wings."
[It's still funny according to my humor.]
After that, he stumbled upon a giant green gelatinous cube blocking the path. It squeezed its way through the multiple mammoth trees, and it seemed to be unimpressive with the appearance of an androgynous child staring from afar.
"Holy pentagon, it's a giant cube made from a jelly!"
[Yes, it's a cube, Jack.]
"How tall is that? Seven meters? How does that even exist!?"
Jack looked like an excited kid more than anything.
[I think you're too old for this.]
