[Yang Menghuo POV]
Alexander Priest grinned at Menghuo and said, "It's been a while, Xiao Meng."
Yang Menghuo smiled at Alexander Priest and nodded, "It's been a while, Alex-Ge."
Mr. Yang Zhuhuo watched his son with his leisure gait walking towards them and sat beside Alex. They hugged each other and did their weird, boyish high five sequences, probably something that was well kept as a tradition between them. They only had one year age gap, with Menghuo at twenty five and Alex at twenty six.
Yang Zhuhuo couldn't help but sigh upon watching this. He had a real son that he treasured a lot but was not close to him at all. Because Yang Menghou had been raised since he was six until he was eleven years old by his grandma, Yang Zhuhuo's mother, the late Grandma Yang.
Honestly, Yang Zhuhuo was ashamed that he missed part of Menghuo's childhood. He still remembered the time when Menghuo cried a lot because his parents were nowhere to be seen after they visited Grandma Yang.
Due to Zhuhuo's business that demanded him to work almost twenty hours every day back then, and his wife was also busy with her job as a renowned fashion designer back in her younger days, now she was too tired to do it and went to become a chief-in-editor of a fashion magazine instead.
Both of them had no time to take care of young Menghuo. But they couldn't hire a nanny either because both lived separately for almost ten years after they got married due to their activity.
Until Grandma Yang passed away, and they had to take care of Menghuo.
It might leave a bitter taste in Menghuo that made him rebellious and wasn't close at all with his parents. Even at some points, Yang Menghuo felt more comfortable talking to Alexander Priest, which he called his brother than talking to his own parents.
"You're late, son," Yang Zhuhuo said. "You're late for two hours already."
"Ah, don't sweat it, dad. What do you want me to do here anyway? Is it about marriage again?" Yang Menghuo scoffed disdainfully. "Dad, I'll never marry, especially with anyone that you and mom picked."
"Well, since you've shot down the conversation that I want to ask, then I will tell you something," Yang Zhuhuo pointed his index at Alex, who leaned on the sofa, directly facing him. "Your brother, Alex, will be the new manager here."
Yang Menghuo paused. He looked at Alex, who raised his brow with a grin on his face, "What? Why are you so surprised? I told you before that I want to work in China, right?"
"You said you want to start a business here. I was ready to give you as many as you want for an investment," Menghuo replied.
"Well, to start a business, wouldn't it be good to work under one of the leading company here?" Alex said. "Besides, don't you know that your dad's secretary is so beautiful? She's definitely one of the beauties that will fit your taste also," Alex added.
Menghuo frowned, and he got confused slightly. Since he knew that Alex-Ge was a high class, infamous playboy that played with many girls and broke their hearts, "Alex-Ge, it's very rare for you to call someone beautiful. Is she really that pretty?"
"Oh, certainly," Alex chuckled. "She is the type of mature beauty with a positive aura I like. It's quite funny since I never fall in love with someone at first sight."
"That's a big statement, Ge..." Menghuo said.
"You should see her to understand what I mean, and maybe you will finally forget about that childhood love of yours and moved on. But not to this one, Xiao Meng. This one… I want her for myself. I might settle down for real this time, haha!"
"You can have her for yourself, Ge. I don't care," Menghuo said. He already had Batman-Jie in his heart, and now… he also had Ying Jie that kept haunting him with their sweet short memories. At this point, he would be a madman to fall in love with another woman.
Alex chuckled with the expected response from the ever-loyal Menghuo. He still vividly remembered when they first introduced themselves and played together. Alex caught a frog near the mansion's pond and showed it to Menghuo.
---
'Look, Xiao Meng, I caught a frog. Do you want to hold it? But it's slippery, so hold it tight or squeeze it,' young Alex said to his new friend, Robin Yang… or Yang Menghuo since he preferred to be called Menghuo.
Young Menghuo watched the frog and then held it snatched it from Alex's hand. He put the frog on the ground to let it escape.
'Ehh… why did you release it? It's difficult to catch one, you know,' young Alex complained.
'Batman-Jie will scold me if I hurt an animal again…'
'Huh? Who is Batman-Jie?'
And after that, Alex had to listen to Menghuo rambling about this Batman-Jie for two hours straight and still had more story. It seemed that Menghuo loved this Batman-Jie so much.
---
Yang Zhuhuo watched the banter between Alex and Menghuo, and he sighed in relief.
Alex saw this and asked, "Uncle, why are you sighing like that? Is there something wrong?"
"I'm just relieved that at least I know Menghuo is not gay," Yang Zhuhuo answered. "This should be celebrated. I just bought a coffee from another country, uh… what is it called again, Luwak? It's a Luwak Coffee. I'll tell my secretary to make it for three of us."
Yang Zhuhuo turned his head at the main door and called, "Secretary Shi! Come here!"
