Rémy was right behind Sean.

Armand, he’s bleeding badly, Sean shouted.

Rémy reached up into a pile of golf shirts displayed on the table next to where Ian went down and stuffed one on Ian’s thigh and one on his neck. Murphy got to Ian right after Rémy.

“I’ve got a bus five minutes out. Keep pressure on the wound. They’ll be taking him to St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital on Fifty Third off of Eighth.” Murphy pressed down on Ian’s neck and Rémy on his thigh. The paramedics arrived and cleared the area. They put a pressure bandage on Ian’s thigh and wrapped a bandage around his neck and loaded him into the bus. They wouldn’t let Rémy travel with them. He got into the cop car with Murphy. They left the uniforms to take Sal away.

Murphy put on the lights and they pulled into the ER driveway within five minutes of the ambulance. Rémy raced to follow the cot. “I’m here, baby. I’m here.”
