Chapitre 370: Forgotten Promise

"The churchmen would be closer!" Ian whispered as they walked around the building. The maid looked at them with disbelief as if they had told her that they were here to meet a ghost.

No, perhaps a ghost would not have surprised her this much.

"Where did you meet the lord?" she asked them as she invited them inside. But she did not take them to a meeting room as one would think. But she was taking them to the kitchen and then outside of the chambers which was strange since the route must be for the staff.

The nobles would only take the main doors.

As if she read the confusion in their eyes, she smiled awkwardly.

"I apologize but the chamber of Lord Aric is only approachable through our quarters. I have never seen him leave the princess chambers for five long years." she sighed with a look of melancholy. "That made me wonder when and where did you meet him?"
