"Did the man say fifty?" gasps could be heard in the whole hall. Nobles did not dare to breathe. Fifty million gold coins would be more than a few gold mines. 

Even a baron or viscount could not dare to offer such an amount and a count would have to sell more than half of his estate to gain that much. But.. a commoner was offering it and that also for a small barony? Now the transaction did not sound as lucrative as it should have.

The man in the new booth turned to look at Harold for further orders since the amount crossed their budget already. Harold had only supplied him with ten million gold coins. Harold shook his head and the man felt like he was suddenly sitting on pins and needles. Though it was his boss who had refused him to bid further, if he would lose the ring, Harold was going to punish all of them for their mistake.

Harold looked away from the new booth and pointed at Cotlin's booth with his eyes cold.
