Chapitre 201: A Visitor

Eve looked out of the window when she heard the sound of hooves. Her heart stirred again but it was just the staff carriage, loaded with groceries. It went straight to the backdoor that leads to the kitchen. Her eyes dimmed at once.

Damien had told her that he was going to the royal palace. And she knew it was far away so it would take at least a day for him to return. But for some reason, she was restless. She felt a strange sensation in her chest. As if something was telling her that he was in trouble. That he needed her. Though she knew it was foolish.

Damien was strong and trained as a knight. There would never be a day when he would need her. But.. she closed her eyes. She was thinking way too much.

"Your grace, why don't you take a walk in the garden? Or read the letters for you and leave the work for us." Emma said in a cheery voice. Now that she had help, she did not need Eve there and she was only relieved that Diana was not coming anymore.
