“It’s about time we have an alliance with the wizards and witches,” I said, adding, “And they can help Rosa if something like Dagon comes up again.”

Max was still signing documents on his desk when he suddenly stopped and looked at me. “You and Rosa, huh?”

I pulled back the chair in front of him and sat on it. “Man, I’ve never liked a girl as much as I like her. There’s just something about her that draws me to her.”

“You had sex with her,” he pointed out matter-of-factly. “I must warn you, Jaxon, Rosa is my mate’s best friend. If you ever hurt her...”

He didn’t need to finish his words; the threat in his voice was enough to know what his words meant.

“I’m serious about her. Alpha,” I deliberately used his title to show him my seriousness. “I wanted to mark her and make her my mate, but she seems hesitant to accept me, which frustrates me.”

“She’s like your Luna. Even more independent. You just need to show her how since you are to her,” he advised.
