15.51% Reincarnated With The Strongest Bloodline / Chapter 35: Bloodthorne

Chapitre 35: Bloodthorne

Over the months, he had tried many combinations which met him with burns every time it was a fail because with every combination he had to test out in the sun.

It was a good thing he could heal himself. Levi could take physical pain, he was glad the strain wasn't mental—that would be something else entirely.

Lilith called him unstable once and he didn't disagree. He knew of his state of mind but that's not something he wanted to think about or even deal with.

On a much lighter note he'd grown to love the path that chose him. Unlike everyone else whose path already had techniques that couldn't be changed, his was a blank canvas—a blank canvas that set him back by a lot compared to those who didn't have to create their own.

But Levi didn't mind grinding, he couldn't wait to incorporate a lot of fantasy techniques to make up his own.

Like a serum in a syringe, he injected himself with the words of his own creation for the umpteenth time. He was confident that this time, it would work.

After learning the technique nothing happened for a while. Then suddenly his skin burst into flames, the panic slowly died when he realised that it wasn't harming him.

"That's kind of weir—" The sensation dug deeper into his skin making him a tad bit uncomfortable.

The technique wasn't just enveloping his skin with ozone layer, it was changing every atom, every cell—creating something new entirely.

"Amazing, I'm witnessing and experiencing evolution."

[Yes. You'll be the only one of your kind to have ever existed in Ancieru, that's something to be proud of.]

"That won't affect my bloodline will it?"

[Negative. While you're something else, it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.]

"Great." He said sarcastically, while he was glad he couldn't help but take the statement as an insult.

Levi noticed that his milky skin was slowly turning into a light tan. He expected something like this to happen, he didn't exactly care. It would've been strange anyway to walk around this world with an unnaturally pale skin.

He figured that would give him away immediately. While he was almost certain that nobody alive in Ancieru ever met a demon, from that man's reaction there were possibly books about them.

"Lilith, I feel amazing." He said slowly opening the door to the shelter he built.

Scared that this would be another failure even though it felt like a success. His expectations were low to zero.

He could feel it before getting outside that the sun was out, Levi took out his hand first to test whether it worked. Nothing extreme happened though his skin felt a little uncomfortable.

"I can work with that." He excitedly stepped outside and in the sun for the first time since reincarnating.

It took him eleven years.

The trousers he'd made all those years ago were now just below his knees. Looking around he saw that the people he'd killed were still there, reduced to nothing but bone.

He wasn't going to be in need of clothes when there were perfectly good ones on the lot of them. Levi started stripping them, they were clean enough so he took his off to put them on.

The note he found in the cave fell to the ground, "Oh. I forgot all about this, I could've asked them to read it before I killed them. Shit!"

He took a wiff and almost fainted, it had been such a long time since his body was clean. Taking the clothes, he wandered off looking for a river and luckily found one.

"Huh huh huh, who the hell is that? Why did I become a pretty boy all of a sudden?" The excited tone in his voice couldn't be hidden, he flexed his muscles at his reflection on the water.

[Well, I did tell you that master will grow into his looks.]

"Too bad I'm not all that interested in women." He entered the shallow river with the looted clothes. Levi didn't only intend to wash himself but also the bloodied clothes.

[Ahem, what does master mean by not interested in women?]

"Lilith you bad bad system. Only thing I know is that women and alcohol, are the biggest distractors. I wasn't particularly a ladies man in my past life but once you have their attention, whether it is because of money, that feeling consumes you completely.

"So in this life, I'll focus on something else. I have a goal you see. To take over Ancieru as its God."

[...]

Lilith admired Levi's ambitions but she couldn't believe how naive and stupid his mind could be sometimes. Ancieru had twelve gods whom were powerful in every possible way, Levi would have to kill them all to rule—which was just wishful thinking.

Levi had to take breaks every so often, while he could walk about in the sun. The effects were still very much there, he was truly naturally a nocturnal being—day weakened him but he wasn't complaining since it was better than combustion.

He could feel his life span and energy were severely lacking while out in the sun. While he usually had an abundance of Gi to access through his Hub, that was cut by more than half during the day in the sun.

"I guess everything has its side effects."

Night soon fell and he was back to full power, well full as he could be in that situation. The lingering cravings of blood didn't exactly disappear.

He unsheathed his hilt and called upon the blade so he would practise swordsmanship. It shone under the many moon's light.

"I suppose I should name you, Metamorph? No, too ridiculous. Then maybe, Zodiac Bronze? Marked? Seethe?" He laughed at his own stupidity.

[How about bloodthorne master?]

Lilith didn't have it in her to listen to anymore horrible name suggestions. Besides she didn't understand why he would even name a weapon but she digressed considering he named her too.

"That's amazing Lilith, you shall be bloodthorne." He spoke to the sword holding it up to the skies.

As if the sword could understand him the blade turned from bronze to a darkish red colour.
