Chapitre 8: Rougher
Phoooor!
A fast moving beast bursted out of the dungeon walls. It had the same shape of a wild cat, its tail having red flames, and its eyes blazing with the same flames.
The beast was terrified.
Charging out of the same hole it had made, a Skeleton sped out, chasing it down at top speed.
This Skeleton was Lumin's companion. Right on the back of this Skeleton, was the Blop, using its tentacles to direct the Skeleton.
"Charge! Catch that cat!!! Hahahaha, bring me its head!" Lumin laughed.
"As you wish, My lord!!!".
With added boost, the Skeleton's body was covered with red energy and in the blink of an eye, it had arrived beside the red cat.
Clenching its fist, the Skeleton, red energy began to gather around its hand.
Baam!
It landed a solid hit on the body of the cat, a huge surge of energy charging out completely disintegrating the monster and leaving a deep hole in the wall of the dungeon.
The ground was scorched as steam could be seen emitting from the ground.
"You fool!!!" Lumin cried, jumping down from the Skeleton's back.
"How many times have I told you to reduce the impact of your energy punch! There's nothing for me to devour! Uhhhhh!" Lumin pointed angrily at the Skeleton.
"P-Pardon me My Lord, I…I still don't know how to control it." The skeleton replied, hiding its hand behind its back.
"Yo take it easy man, I was just joking…"
Lumin sighed.
'Sigh, but then again, this is the fourth monster princess bones here has killed off completely with no remains for me to work on. If that isn't worse, it's so hard to find monsters in this dungeon, and according to the system, monsters are supposed to be active by this time.'
Lumin looked at the skeleton again.
'On another note, She has been growing rather fast. It's been only two days and she has already developed two additional skills. Whoever these people were before they turned into skeletons must have been powerful people. Right now, She's able to drain energy from things to replenish hers, and she can also use her mana for offensive attacks, this includes even her initial blop skin. It's quite versatile.'
He paused.
'Perhaps it's because she's also a Blop, but it seems like the more she drains mana from things, the more her body changes. For example, I've noticed her body had started having more life to it, she looked like a corpse before but now… she's more.. alive?'.
The skeleton looked back at him, its dirty raggy cloak swaying as she tilted her neck to the side.
'Ahh whatever, I'm sure it's fine, on that note, I should probably give her a name...'
"Alpha."
"Hmm?" The skeleton looked even more confused.
"Yes, that's it. From now on, your name will forever be known as Alpha."
"A…lpha?" The skeleton's confused expression slowly turned into joy as the name settled in her mouth.
"Yes, much better than saying You or hey, so what do you think? I mean if you don't like it I can just think of a new-"
"No, I love it! Alpha…. My name is Alpha." Alpha giggled, "My lord, I'll forever cherish this name".
'Chillout it's just a name. But then again, I can't blame her. She has been stuck as a Blop her whole life, little fella probably doesn't know much of the world. Would explain the fact that she got attached to me fast.'

[Subordinate.]
[This skill allows me to keep up with your subject's information.]
[The skeleton has now been registered as Alpha. Would you like me to share her stats?]
'Eh? I can see her stats?'
[Affirmative. Her soul is linked to yours. So her evolution and unique skills are open to you.]
'Oh shit, I feel like an RPG dev, okay, let me have it'.
[Stats:]
[Name: Alpha
Race: Skeleton Rougher
Main skills: Slime manipulation, Energy drain, Red Energy mastery.]
'Those look like op skills though, damn, well I already knew this. Energy drain lets her drain her enemies energy, this could even be to their direct attack. Hey now, is this girl trying to get stronger than me?'.
Its eyes moved down the template.
'And she's a Rougher?'.
[After constant training and energy absorption. The Skeleton warrior evolved into A Skeleton Rougher.]
'Hmm, makes no sense, but who am I to argue, I wouldn't think something as basic as-'
Gboom-!
Lumin halted as soon as he heard the huge explosion.
Alpha had immediately moved close to Lumin, her gaze directed at the hole on the wall since that was where the sound came from.
"My lord." She called out.
"No no, chill, this might actually be good for us." Lumin replied.
'Okay, I can definitely sense about 4 different mama sources from this direction. Are they fighting? Oh, I'm not missing this!'.
Lumin looked at Alpha.
"Alpha! Let's go, asap! Towards the explosion we just heard!".
Alpha didn't waste any time, she immediately picked Lumin up from the ground and began to run towards the sound, her feet swipt on the ground.
….
Booom! Booom!
Explosions spread all around the dungeon room.
"Get away! Ahh Tomoe! Tomoe please help me." The female cried, dragging her butt on the ground as she tried to escape the monster.
On the ground, not too far from her, was the severed body of the two men who were with them. Their body parts scattered on the ground, soaked in blood.
The last of them were two females, one was currently trying to get away from the monster, while the other was on high ground, using the stone to her advantage.
'Dammit, this monster is intelligent, or is it running on instinct? It made sure to kill Tristan and Josh, before coming to face us women… but now, it doesn't seem like it wants to kill us.'
The woman thought it herself, the screams of her comrade echoing in her head.
'It wants to play with us… it's enjoying our reaction to this'.
And indeed it was.
The monster in question was no other than the dungeon's main mob.
The deformed slime monster.
