- Parker. - The girl repeated indignantly. - You've been avoiding me for half a week now, have you forgotten your promise? - The blonde continued angrily.

And what was so important that I forgot? We're not dating, and I don't owe her money, so what else is there? Something to do with school, because Parker couldn't have seduced that blond angel and forgotten about it, could he? I certainly wouldn't miss that, nor would I miss any other skirt. I grinned mentally and nodded hesitantly, because, as they say, it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission, isn't it? Maybe I should seize the moment and snatch that sweet kiss from her innocent lips. But I shouldn't, and Captain Stacy might take the wrong view of such an innocent prank, for I know their laws. It's 'sexual harassment,' so you can't even flirt.

- That's what I thought. - Nodding satisfied, the girl continued. - My father said that you and Harry were in some club and a mad terrorist broke in and massacred the place. - The blonde said in one breath. - Oh, you had me worried, Parker. You almost ruined our project, but you found a reason. - the girl suddenly smiled. - So I took the liberty of finishing our project all by myself. I hope you don't mind. You wanted to get a job with Connors as a lab technician, so now it's just a matter of convincing the professor that we're the best candidates for the job. - With a sincere nod of thanks to Gwen, I spoke up myself.

- You're a sweetheart, blondie. - Gwen grumbled unhappily at the nickname I had given her during our first meeting, and smiling, I continued. - In gratitude for my rescue, I propose to go to a café-candy shop, there is a gorgeous eclairs and coffee. So how about we go trick-or-treating? - in the tone of a tempter, I continued to seduce the girl.

- Do you think to make me happy with sweets? - The girl hummed understandingly. - Not this time, Peter, but I will definitely use your offer sometime later. - Smiling sweetly, the blonde winked at me and left without saying goodbye.

Oh those women, they're always so mysterious, she made a fuss and left. However, I'm not used to it, so it's okay, and you can always go for eclairs alone. There are just so damn tasty, with coconut shavings and bananas, and the cream is so soft that all the receptors dance a jig on the tip of your tongue in gastronomic ecstasy. I'll get myself a cappuccino and a box of fresh eclairs, and I'll finally treat May.

The rest of the pairs were somehow too unimpressive and grey, I even managed to take a nap. So there's no point in describing them. But next week there's a lecture by Adrian Tooms. This head of one not too famous corporation will talk about his flight technology, gravity cushion and drones for more massive cargo, a batch of which has already been ordered for their needs by Amazon and Ozcorp.

It will be interesting to see a millionaire and at the same time a scientist, that he has achieved everything in his life by himself, is it not a reason for motivation and an opportunity to build a business, rather than work for someone else. Well, let's not go that far, because we still need to buy groceries for dinner and goodies for myself and my aunt, or she will come again late at night and will be hungry like a lion.

Having habitually looked into the shop of the Vietnamese, who welcomed me like an old friend, I smiled at him and started leisurely buying food for Hawaiian pizza, light soups and pancakes, which I planned to cook for the evening.

Returning in a slightly uplifted mood, I connected my smartphone via bluetooth to the stereo.

Habitually finding upbeat tracks from my playlist, I started cooking. Even peeling potatoes is much more pleasant with music. And if you're cooking three dishes at once, it's even better, because the time goes faster, and it's as if you're in a trance and you're only speeding up, without wasting seconds on unnecessary movements.

After five hours of cooking, I was mentally exhausted. It may be worth it, but to spend so much time and energy on cooking? Perhaps only on holidays, and then only to treat May.

There was plenty of drainiki, so I went to the shop again and bought a small bottle of William Lawson's and the same amount of vanilla cola without too much trouble. Not a bad substitute for crisps, albeit just as unhealthy. After tidying up the kitchen, I settled down in front of the TV, eager to watch the latest news and relax a little. Even though it was so strange, but what can you do, I hadn't started to fight my habits yet, and, having got used to TV for so many years and not having gone cuckoo, you definitely get immune to all the nonsense that they like to broadcast and calmly sift out all the information you need.

- The mad butcher still roams the streets of our city. - the voice of a pretty journalist was important. - Another nightclub has become the scene of a massacre, and a mass of students have been brutally murdered. And now for the other news... - as if nothing had happened, the girl put on a smile and continued the news item. - Ozcorp shares continue their growth against all analysts' forecasts and experts' opinion. So what is Norman Osborne up to? This and much more you will find out in our evening programme. - the presenter smiled slyly at the viewers.

Switching to another channel, I saw a huge ambo in a first-class suit.

- I was born and raised in this city, so it is up to me to repay it for my beautiful childhood and youth. - sarcasm poured from the shaved-headed big man's lips. - New York has always been my home, so I don't regret spending many billions of dollars for the welfare of our city and I am ready to continue doing charity work. - The ambo's white smile sparkled with perfect whiteness.

Switching gears again, I saw a familiar man with a moustache, whose charisma shone through the screen. And why does he look so familiar to me? Perhaps it's the moustache, and somewhere there's a whole race like him. After all, a simple man can't be so disposable, he's obviously not from earth.

- Today we're going to talk about Ozcorp's harmful impact on the environment, Amazon's new innovations and the generous amble that suddenly fell in love with our city. What do you think Wilson Fisk is hiding? - With an ironic chuckle, J. Jonah Jameson continued. - And here's the big question of the evening: how did yesterday's boxer manage to reach such impressive heights of economic Olympus? What do we know about Wilson Fisk? Strong fighter, bodyguard of the late Don Rigoletto, and now a prominent businessman, philanthropist and connoisseur of modern art. - the host continued to denounce Fisk.

Did Jay really dig up all the available information on the big man, or did he just not get paid for his praise like the other channels? I don't think so. And he doesn't look like a corrupt journalist.

As I analysed the news, I tried to predict what the arrival of a new player might bring to the city, and if this Fisk is half as bad as Jameson says he is, then we should expect a wind of change. I wonder what this shaved-headed ambo is up to, because there's a reason he's back in town, isn't there?

New York was already too criminalised, so the arrival of another bad guy wouldn't be good for the city's image, and if he was active here, it wouldn't be safe to stay. And I still have May!

- Peter, honey, I'm home. - came the same mischievous voice of my aunt. - I can smell pizza. Did you order my favourite snack? - May's making a lot of noise. - I got you that delicious ice cream, three buckets of different flavours. - Auntie said smugly. - Wait, what flavour is that? - May came over to me and sat down on the sofa, sniffing thoughtfully and slightly perplexed.

- I wanted to surprise you. - I smiled innocently, and was immediately squeezed by Mei. - So I bought all sorts of goodies and made your favourite pineapple pizza. - As I listened to the delighted sounds from my aunt who couldn't find anything to say, I smiled. Damn, it turns out that doing nice things for loved ones is so cool. Why hadn't I started a family before?

- My little guy finally started cooking. - wiping away an invisible tear, she hugged me even tighter. - And now I'm finally free. - May laughed wickedly. - Now you'll be cooking forever and ever and ever.....

- Not so fast, Auntie, it was just a one-off. - quickly realising the prospect of becoming a scientist and a cook, I immediately backtracked. - I've always loved your cooking, May, cos you're the only one who makes such good lasagne. How am I going to live without it? - She gave me a suspicious look, but nodded succinctly and hugged me again.

- Let's say I believed it. - Auntie grinned. - So, when are we going to try it? After all, the pizza will not eat itself. And not for nothing I go to fitness, so once a week you can treat yourself. - May winked mischievously at me.

When I got out of such a cosy embrace, I immediately began to gather the table, because after all, I was cooking, so I can be a little bit and waiter. But only today and only for my aunt. Carefully taking out of the oven sheet with pizza cut into triangles, I immediately put it on plates. Next, I just as deftly poured the soup into bowls and took out a plate of crispy pancakes. Finished with the food, I poured May her favourite latte from our coffee machine.

- Enjoy. - I said to my aunt, who had already started eating her pizza.

With a smile watching auntie's good appetite, I myself involuntarily wanted to eat. I spooned a spoonful of sour cream into the soup and started the late supper.

Who would have thought that dinner with the family would be such a pleasant thing? After finishing the pizza, May started on the goodies and her latte, sharing news and talking about her work and new projects. So we sat in the kitchen for an hour, enjoying each other's company, good home-cooked food and delicious pastries. I have to admit, I haven't seen her this happy in a long time. Smiling is infectious, so I was smiling and laughing at May's jokes.

I left the kitchen in a good mood and headed for the shower, for some reason still humming a song about a Cossack and falsifying it. When I finished with all the procedures, I went to bed, because there was still so much to do tomorrow.
