Chapitre 9: Chapter 9: The Fight with Master Roshi

The sun was low in the sky, casting long shadows across the beach as Krillin and I stood side by side, staring out at the ocean. Our minds were racing with thoughts of the challenge that awaited us. Master Roshi had given us one week to prepare for our fight against him, and we both knew that this would be the toughest battle we'd ever faced.

We had trained hard over the past few months, pushing our bodies and minds to the limit, but Master Roshi was on a completely different level. He was a martial arts master, one of the strongest fighters in the world, and even though he always acted like a lazy old man, we knew that he was hiding incredible power beneath that carefree exterior.

"How are we supposed to beat him?" Krillin muttered, his brow furrowed in thought. "Master Roshi's way stronger than us! Even if we team up, I don't think we stand a chance."

I smiled, feeling a familiar surge of excitement. "That's what makes it fun! It's going to be a great fight."

Krillin sighed, shaking his head. "Only you would think fighting Master Roshi is fun…"

But I could tell that Krillin was just as eager as I was. He might have been nervous about facing Master Roshi, but deep down, he was excited too. This was the kind of challenge that would push us to new heights, and we both knew it.

"We've got a week to prepare," I said, turning to Krillin. "Let's make the most of it."

Krillin nodded, determination flashing in his eyes. "Right. Let's do this."

A Plan in Motion

The next few days were a whirlwind of training and strategizing. We knew that brute strength alone wouldn't be enough to defeat Master Roshi. We'd need to use everything we'd learned so far—our speed, our agility, our Ki control—and work together if we wanted to stand a chance.

Krillin and I spent hours sparring with each other, practicing different techniques and trying to come up with a plan. We knew that Master Roshi would be expecting us to rush him head-on, so we had to think outside the box. The key to winning this fight would be using our strengths in unexpected ways.

One afternoon, as we were taking a break from training, Krillin sat down next to me, rubbing his sore arms. "You know, I've been thinking… What if we use the Kamehameha against him?"

I blinked, surprised by the suggestion. "The Kamehameha? But Master Roshi invented that technique. He'll know how to counter it."

Krillin grinned. "Exactly. He'll be expecting it, but that's where we can catch him off guard. If we both use the Kamehameha at the same time, we might be able to overwhelm him."

I thought about it for a moment, then nodded. It was a risky plan, but it just might work. "Alright, let's give it a shot."

We spent the next few days perfecting our Kamehameha, practicing until we could both fire the energy wave with precision and power. At first, it was tough. The technique required so much focus and control, and trying to synchronize our attacks was even harder. But slowly, we started to get the hang of it. Our blasts were getting stronger, and we were learning to work together as a team.

The Day of the Fight

The week seemed to fly by, and before we knew it, the day of the fight had arrived. Krillin and I stood on the beach, our hearts pounding with anticipation. Master Roshi was standing a few feet away, his usual laid-back demeanor replaced by a calm, focused intensity. He wasn't holding back today. This was going to be a real fight.

"Alright, boys," Roshi said, adjusting his sunglasses. "You've had a week to prepare. Let's see what you've got."

Krillin and I exchanged a glance, then nodded in unison. This was it. Our final test before the tournament.

Master Roshi raised his cane, tapping it lightly on the sand. "Remember, you'll need to work together if you want to stand a chance. Come at me with everything you've got."

Without hesitation, Krillin and I charged forward, splitting off in opposite directions to surround him. We had learned from our previous fights that charging straight at Roshi was a mistake, so this time, we were going to come at him from multiple angles.

Krillin was the first to strike, leaping into the air and aiming a powerful kick at Roshi's side. But in the blink of an eye, Roshi spun around, effortlessly blocking the attack with his cane. I darted in from the other side, aiming a punch at his back, but Roshi was already moving, dodging my strike with ease.

"He's fast!" Krillin shouted, landing back on the ground.

I nodded, my heart racing. Master Roshi was moving faster than we had ever seen him move before. It was like he could predict our every move.

"Focus!" Roshi called out, his voice calm but firm. "You're both too predictable. Use your heads, not just your strength."

Krillin and I exchanged a quick glance, silently agreeing to change tactics. We couldn't rely on brute force alone. We had to outthink him.

I darted forward again, feinting a punch at Roshi's chest, then quickly shifting to a low kick aimed at his legs. But Roshi was ready, effortlessly dodging the attack and pushing me back with a swift strike from his cane.

At the same time, Krillin launched a flurry of punches from the other side, trying to catch Roshi off guard. But Roshi moved with incredible speed and precision, blocking each strike with ease.

"You're improving," Roshi said with a grin, "but you're still too slow."

A New Strategy

We backed off, panting from the effort. Master Roshi hadn't even broken a sweat. He was toying with us, testing us, and we knew it.

Krillin wiped the sweat from his brow, his eyes narrowed in concentration. "We need to do something different. He's too fast."

I nodded. "Let's go for the Kamehameha. Together."

Krillin hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Alright. Let's do it."

We both stepped back, raising our hands in unison. Master Roshi's eyes narrowed slightly, watching us closely.

"Kaaaa… meeee…" we chanted, our voices in perfect sync as we began to gather our Ki.

Master Roshi didn't move. He stood there, waiting, his expression unreadable.

"Haaaa… meeee…"

The energy between our hands grew, crackling with power as we focused all of our Ki into the attack. This was it—the moment we had been preparing for all week.

"HAAAA!!!"

With a shout, Krillin and I unleashed our Kamehameha waves at the same time, two massive beams of blue energy shooting toward Master Roshi with incredible force. The air crackled with power as the energy waves raced toward him.

But just as the beams were about to hit, Roshi moved.

In the blink of an eye, he raised both of his hands, effortlessly deflecting the energy blasts with a swift motion. Our Kamehameha waves shot off into the sky, disappearing into the distance as Roshi stood there, completely unharmed.

Krillin and I stared in disbelief. We had put everything we had into that attack, but Roshi had deflected it like it was nothing.

"Not bad," Roshi said with a grin. "But you'll need to do better than that if you want to beat me."

Krillin groaned, dropping to his knees. "This is impossible…"

But I wasn't ready to give up. There had to be a way to beat him. We just had to keep pushing.

I stepped forward, my fists clenched. "We're not done yet!"

The Turning Point

The fight continued, with Krillin and I throwing everything we had at Master Roshi. We used every technique we knew, every trick we could think of, but Roshi was always one step ahead. No matter what we did, he seemed to anticipate our moves, countering us with ease.

But as the fight dragged on, something started to change.

I could feel it—a shift in the air, a surge of energy building inside me. It was subtle at first, just a faint spark of power, but it was growing stronger with each passing second.

I didn't understand what was happening, but I knew that I couldn't let this opportunity slip away.

Krillin was panting heavily, his body covered in sweat as he struggled to keep up with Roshi's relentless attacks. I could see the exhaustion in his eyes, the doubt creeping in.

"Krillin!" I shouted, my voice filled with urgency. "We need to hit him together one more time! Give it everything you've got!"

Krillin looked at me, his expression uncertain, but then he nodded. He knew that this was our last chance.

We moved in unison, charging at Roshi from opposite sides. I could feel the energy building inside me, growing stronger with each step, and I knew that this was it. This was the moment we had been waiting for.

Master Roshi smiled, raising his cane to block our attacks.

But this time, we were ready.

With a burst of speed, Krillin and I launched a final, desperate assault, our fists glowing with energy as we struck out at Roshi. For a split second, I saw a flicker of surprise in Roshi's eyes—just enough to give us the opening we needed.

Our attacks landed, hitting Roshi with a surge of force that sent him skidding back across the sand.

Krillin and I stood there, panting heavily, our bodies trembling from the effort. We had done it. We had landed a hit on Master Roshi.

But as the dust settled, Roshi straightened up, brushing the sand off his robe. He adjusted his sunglasses, then smiled.

"Not bad," he said, his voice filled with pride. "You boys have come a long way."

Krillin collapsed onto the sand, breathing heavily. "Did we… did we win?"

Roshi chuckled, shaking his head. "Not quite. But you've earned the right to enter the tournament."

I grinned, feeling a wave of relief and excitement wash over me. We hadn't beaten Master Roshi, but we had proven ourselves. We were ready for the World Martial Arts Tournament.
