Écrire un avisit is very bad. I read till chap 1000 before dropping it. there is too much nationalism and racism in it. i have read stories with elements of it before but rarely I have come across a novel that goes above and beyond to should Hail China and everyone besides china sucks. heck if the book just went with that i like China best i would have been fine with it. but it goes out of it's way to compare every aspect of China with "foreigners" and then descriptively state china's superiority while *Also* dissing foreigners (which is the worst part - like fine sing your praises but why the heck do you have to diss other countries?). I don't even want to mention the ways it describes different countries. plus any characters from other countries are either bad or those who are somehow good have Chinese parents or ancestors. heck the book describes all Chinese living in foreign countries as spies and fiercely loyal to China who think living in foreign countries is not as good as China but they do so to either gain economic benefits for China or technology or act as spies. I can go on and on but I really liked the ideas of this novel regarding the banking system and many other things the protagonist does. it was fine in the beginning since it was confined to China so there was no such mention besides the occasional praise to various Chinese things cultural or political. but as his buisness grew and other countries came into the picture it's always comparing and then dissing them. heck he doesn't even want to ever step out of China because all foreign countries are bad. you could have made the reason that he doesn't like to travel or something. and all businesses in foreign countries are headed by Chinese while the other countries people working under him are treated as idiots and slaves. and all businesses suck out value from there back to China. plus something happens to his buisness in foreign country his concern is only on Chinese employees he doesn't care about the others. but he is portrayed as just and righteous and a very good guy. ah I don't want to write anymore otherwise I'll keep on going. TDLR - novel has great ideas but the author ruined it by having a lot of nationalism and racism in it. later chaps have it in every other chap.
Spoiler de révélationi wonder if author thought about the 3 big family when writing the story, its like writing the story of THAT family in a novel. its truly interesting.
Interesting book that I picked up for the 10min read after my initial choice was very disappointing. Despite this book being about finances (not the most interesting topic 😑), the author manages to bring us into the MC’s mind and emotions, and I became interested to follow his journey and root for him. Translation was good, the story made sense and flowed well, which I really appreciate after reading many other novels here that do that badly. I read until I hit the paywall. I would have been happy to keep reading it if it had been free. 👍
I want to put 5 star cause it picks my interest but, is this and illness of being Chinese novel? It’s very distracting when there is an takeback or error when it comes to numbers, gender, and cultivation. You know it’s kinda frustrating. Hope you can fix this small details.
