'Well, at least I will get a nice payday.
Upon discovering the rewards for the second quest, Rasoul felt a surge of happiness as he anticipated a hefty amount of fire points and some other cool gear. Realizing the importance of amassing fire points for both his and his companions' safety in case things took a turn for the worse, Rasoul understood that, in his quest for survival and empowerment, the system's assistance, and consequently, fire points, were more valuable than gold coins.
Without hesitation, he charged at the Frostbound Yetis, colossal creatures draped in thick, icy fur. Their fur emitted an icy blue glow, and their eyes sparkled with an otherworldly frost. Massive claws and sharp teeth protruded from their frost-covered limbs, creating an intimidating and frigid aura.
Aware that he needed to deliver powerful blows to swiftly overcome this beastly onslaught, Rasoul's swords crackled with lightning as he advanced toward the creatures. His strategy involved immobilizing them by targeting their legs. Swiftly, he activated his first earth element attack ability, a creation born from an empty scroll. Rasoul recognized that to truly master his abilities, he had to take the initiative and craft them himself.
"Titanic Grasp - First Move: Earthen Shackles..." Chains sculpted from the earth's element swiftly burst out of the ground, ensnaring the Beast in place. Aware that the chains wouldn't endure for long, Rasoul immediately dashed forward, slashing down the creature as he advanced.
Infusing his swords with both lightning and fire, each cut and stab left a lingering trace of both elements, gradually sapping away at the beasts' health. Maneuvering through the horde with frenzied determination, Rasoul resembled a madman on a mission. Meanwhile, Lara unleashed her own form of chaos. Rasoul had provided her and Sabrat with an empty scroll each to craft their unique skills.
Navigating the battlefield, thunder trailed in Lara's wake. She activated an ability that gained strength with each enemy she dispatched. Lara's mastery over lightning and thunder surpassed Rasoul's.
She devised a skill named 'Lightning Walk,' tailored for large-scale battles. With a singular effect effective in expansive conflicts, Lara's attacks left a lightning residue in the bodies of her foes. This residue harnessed the mana within the beasts, transmitting it to the next creature in a chain reaction.
In essence, she created an ability that, when affecting one beast, would ripple through to all neighboring creatures. As she traversed the battleground, thunder and lightning emanated from her, entering the bodies of the beasts in a mesmerizing display of power.
The only drawback is that it consumes a considerable amount of mana and requires time to activate fully. However, once successfully initiated, it spreads like a disease across the battlefield.
In the sky, Sabrat stood poised to confront the beasts circling overhead, their eyes aglow with red flames. With synchronized descent, they dove towards Sabrat. Narrowing his eyes, Sabrat prepared for the impending onslaught. As the first Phoenix descended, talons outstretched, Sabrat moved with the grace of a shadow. Effortlessly dodging, the air swirled in his wake. With a swift motion, he unsheathed his dual daggers, each blade ablaze with green hellish flame.
His movements formed a symphony of fluidity and precision. Ascending with a powerful flap of his wings, Sabrat dodged the fiery onslaught of the Phoenixes. He twisted, turned, and somersaulted through the air.
The Phoenixes, notorious for their fiery breath, unleashed streams of searing flames. Yet, Sabrat was no stranger to the dance with fire. With a deft twist of his body, he evaded the incandescent onslaught. His wings, shrouded in darkness, seemed to absorb the flames without a flicker.
Seizing the opportunity, Sabrat darted towards the nearest Phoenix. His dual daggers glowed with an otherworldly energy as he delivered swift, precise strikes. Darkness and fire collided in a mesmerizing display of combat. The beasts dropped like rain as he continued to deal lethal strikes.
As a creature from hell, he was familiar with fire. His movement in the sky surpassed that on earth. Exploiting this advantage, Sabrat quickly moved from Phoenix to Phoenix, impaling them with his daggers. Without activating any specific abilities, aside from imbuing his daggers with hell flames, he relied on raw strength to slice and dice through the necks of the Phoenix Variants.
The other three assassins were likely having the most fun. Two of them played the bait, luring the elusive Panthera, while the remaining assassin went in for the kill. Their method proved effective, with headless Panther bodies scattered across the battlefield.
For a full 30 minutes, Rasoul and his team managed to eliminate almost 80 percent of the beasts. Sabrat took care of all the Phoenixes, his exceptional agility being the key factor. As the numbers dwindled, an unexpected turn occurred. The beasts started rapidly gaining strength. Rasoul promptly noticed the changes and gave new instructions to his teammates.
"They're on the brink of breaking through to the Great Beast Realm. Let's end this battle quickly before that happens. Sabrat, head towards the entrance; the three of you will accompany him. Lara and I will stay here and handle the last 200 beasts. As usual, eliminate the guardian as swiftly as possible."
Right after conveying his instructions, Sabrat and the assassins entered stealth mode, making their way toward the gate. Rasoul immediately activated one of his earliest abilities, "Ephemeral Precision." This skill heightened his strikes' precision, targeting the beasts' vital points. With "Earthen Shackles" binding the creatures and immobilizing them, he moved swiftly, delivering accurate and precise cuts.
He's still at the Master level in his Aikido Dual Swordman technique. He knew that advancing to the Grandmaster stage would make it more powerful, yet moving from the Master Stage to the Grandmaster stage is proving quite challenging.
On the flip side, Lara activates one of the four abilities she received when Rasoul revived her. When Rasoul brought her back in the Dark Forest, she came with four lightning-based abilities. She hadn't used them before, mainly because she was focused on mastering her sword skills. However, given the situation, she had no choice but to tap into these abilities.
"Apocalyptic Surge," she commanded, and a surge of lightning was unleashed, passing through the hordes without any resistance. The beast hit by her attack became immobilized, allowing her to swiftly cut through their bodies like butter with her sword.
The ability is overpowered, but she chooses not to use it because it hinders her ambition to master the sword, and it also consumes a lot of mana to activate.

[Apocalyptic Surge:]
>>Unleashes an overwhelmingly powerful surge of lightning, dealing catastrophic damage to the target. This attack is so intense that it ignores most forms of magical or physical resistance, making it an almost unavoidable force of nature.

Sabrat, on the other hand, melded into the shadows as the three assassins acted as bait. Sabrat wasn't planning on wasting any time since they needed to conserve their strength for the final trial.
He waited for a whole 10 minutes until the Guardian finally appeared. As soon as it came into view, a chilling sensation spread throughout the battlefield. Rasoul immediately sensed the sudden change and used Radar to check.
The first thing he did upon seeing the source of this chilling cold sensation was to warn Sabrat and the three assassins. He immediately cautioned them not to engage until he arrived. With fewer than 50 beasts left, Rasoul seized the opportunity and decided to use a soul attack. With his innate soul energy at 25 percent, he was confident he could pull it off. He promptly activated his domain ability to slow and control the movement of the beasts.
"When the beast came within 500 meters range, he activated his only soul attack ability in his arsenal, Spiritual Erosion - First Move: Life Drain."
The moment the skill was activated, his soul force burned at a rapid rate. He felt a unique connection forming with all the beasts surrounding him as he began draining their life force. He continued this draining process for 5 continuous minutes, causing the beasts to stop moving as their health rapidly depleted. After the fifth minute of continuous draining, he heard the system chime.

[Congratulations, Host, for advancing to the Master stage in soul cultivation.]
[Congratulations, Host, your innate soul energy is now 30%.]
[Congratulations, Host, for unlocking a new ability: Abyssal Sealbane.]
He immediately checked the newest ability. After reading the description, a small smile escaped his lips.

[Abyssal Sealbane: Active] - (Tier 5)
[Soul Shatter:]
- Targets an opponent's soul, fracturing it into shards. This effect not only deals immense damage but also weakens the target's overall magical and physical abilities for a significant duration.
[Ephemeral Chains:]
- Imposes ethereal chains on the victim's soul, restricting their movement and casting abilities for a brief period. The chains are unbreakable and bind the soul directly, transcending any physical defenses.
[Cursed Banishment:]
- If the target's soul strength is equal to or lower than the wielder's, this effect banishes a portion of the victim's soul to a dark, desolate realm temporarily. During this time, the target is rendered powerless and vulnerable, as they struggle to reconnect with their banished essence.
[Soul Absorption:]
- After the target's soul shatters, the wielder can absorb the fractured soul, instantly killing the target and gaining a temporary boost in power proportional to the strength of the absorbed soul.

The system immediately presented him with a side quest. Rasoul, of course, welcomed the quest. He knew he had just acquired an overpowered skill that could rival almost all of Lara's Locked Tier 10 Skills. He then turned towards Lara, a smile written all over his face.
"Lara, chop these suckers down. I'll go help Sabrat take care of the Guardian," Rasoul immediately instructed Lara to dispatch the immobilized beasts as he dashed away toward the gate. He wanted to try his newest ability before entering the last level of the legacy trial.
He arrived at the gate after two minutes. As soon as he got there, the beast noticed his presence. Sabrat emerged from the shadows and stood beside Rasoul. The creature then started making its way toward them.
When it finally came into view, Rasoul and Sabrat widened their eyes. The creature stood 6 meters tall, its appearance that of an ice-covered behemoth with crystalline scales reflecting a cold, wintry glow. Massive wings, seemingly carved from frozen glaciers, adorned its form. Icicles hung from its razor-sharp fangs, and its eyes gleamed with an icy blue brilliance.
Rasoul Immediately Scan it using his mind's eye.
[Name: Glaciarctic Wyrm]
[Realm: Great Beast]
[Bloodline: Frostbound Frostclaw]
[Attack Pattern:] The Glaciarctic Wyrm swoops down, unleashing a freezing breath that encases its victims in solid ice. It then shatters the frozen prey with powerful wing buffets, creating a chilling spectacle of destruction.
"Well, for a second there, I thought we were dealing with a dragon, not knowing it's just a cheap knockoff," Rasoul said, heaving a sigh of relief.
"Let's fry this sucker's soul now, shall we?" Rasoul said, immediately activating his newest ability.
"Abyssal Sealbane - First Move: Soul Shatter." The beast immediately came to an abrupt stop. Seeing this, Rasoul wasted no time and went for the kill. "Soul Absorption." Rasoul absorbed the shattered soul, his body becoming vitalized with pure and cold energy.
"Two down, one more to go," he said, taking the dead beast's corpse and core into his storage ring.
