A day had passed, and Lian was sitting in a valley extremely close to the entrance of the lightning-tinged area of the celestial plain. He was within the refuge area for the corrupted divine beasts. Everyone watched him vigilantly from a safe distance with extreme fear, but they didn't bother him.

Only a third of the divine beasts had survived the recent turmoil, most of them being weak youngsters without the power to fight. They didn't hold much hope of survival; after all, news of the death of the Sea Drake King would spread quickly, and the other three marine kings would rush to destroy their already shaken home after a battle.
