If there was something bad to be said about Shen Mu, it was that he was a hard taskmaster; the frailty of my current body didn’t help matters, but still I persevered.

“Well done, Pri.” That’s his new name for me, since saying ‘Priscilla’ every time was a mouthful. To me, it felt like a pet name, like how he used to call me ‘darling’ or ‘beloved’ all the time in the future.

Oh God. Did that sound as strange to you as it did to me? The future in the past… What an odd notion.

“Stop spacing out,” he grumbled, hitting the top of my head with a folded paper.

I couldn’t help but open my eyes and pout at him. “Then stop interrupting!”

The man had the gall to smile at me, seated on a chair a few steps from me. The hit on my head had come from a cute small green dragon that held the paper weapon with its tail. “If you were concentrating, you wouldn’t even notice me here.”
