Little Red seemed to be trying to reassure itself more than anything. It claimed it was staying by Ling Chuxi's side to seek revenge after recovering, but if Ling Chuxi had such a powerful sword spirit by her side, its chances of revenge would be slim. Hence, it preferred to believe that it was just a hallucination.
Humans were not the only beings that needed hope in their lives, monster beasts did too.
Of course, Ling Chuxi didn't know what it was thinking, so she just threw it over her shoulder and carried it to breakfast.
Poor Little Red. Early in the morning, it had been forced awake, shaken, and thrown over Ling Chuxi's shoulder like a sack of vegetables. Its small head drooped miserably on Ling Chuxi's shoulder, bouncing up and down with her fast pace.
"Chuxi, good morning!" Lan Xinyu had woken up too and was walking towards the dining room when she saw Ling Chuxi.
"Morning," Ling Chuxi greeted.
