Chapitre 91: Frozen World
Thirteen opened his eyes to see a bright sunny sky.
He sat up and looked around to notice he was sitting on the sea.
There was no breeze, the water wasn't moving, the clouds were stuck in the same place… Everything seemed to be frozen.
He got to his feet and started walking on the water.
He didn't know where he was going but he kept walking.
Step by step.
Endlessly.
He only saw the same scene stretching out forever.
There was no other him, there was no sound, no beach, nothing.
Thirteen continued walking on the sea until he came to a black expanse.
The sea was cut off and the rest was pitch black. It was as though the world was cut out of space.
The other half was completely black and dark, Thirteen felt the coldness of the darkness and stepped back. The black expanse radiated loneliness and coldness…
Thirteen was afraid.
Plain and simple.
He backed off from the black space and walked along the edge of the sea, staying 6 feet away from the darkness as he continued.
Eventually, his ears twitched and he turned to the darkness.
This… This was the spot he was at a while ago, the first time he came to the darkness.
He had walked in a circle.
He was confused and looked at the black void.
His hand slowly reached out and inched to the blackness of the void.
Away from the sunlight.
Away from the sea.
Away from the clouds.
Away from life.
He was about to touch the black void when he heard "THIRTEEN!"
Thirteen stopped and turned around to see the world started up again, the sea waves rolled, the clouds moved, birds appeared, the wind blew, and the sun shined.
On the horizon, the Merry sailed over.
Luffy was waving on the Head of the Merry, while the rest were waving to him and smiling.
Thirteen slowly stepped away from the darkness and took a step to the ship, his next step was more solid, he started jogging, then he started running.
Luffy stretched out his hand and grinned.
Thirteen looked at the hand and the corners of his lips slowly curled up into what could only be described as a stiff smile as he grabbed Luffy's hand.
The entire world cracked like glass before shattering completely as Thirteen disappeared.
He opened his eyes to see the familiar wooden walls of the Merry, his stiff smile was gone and his expression went back to blank, but his eyes were more lively as he saw Luffy sitting next to him with Zoro.
Inside the mindscape~
The other Thirteen stepped out of the darkness, touching the sea with his foot. He pulled his foot back as it rejected him. A row of sharp teeth grinned in the darkness as his eyes glew with rage.
Suddenly!
The bright world shone and pulsed.
The other Thirteen was blasted back by the pulse and landed back into the darkness as an intense roar of pain sounded before being drowned out by the rolling blackness.
The other Thirteen got up, but he was different now.
His face had a crack in it.
From his right chest, over his neck, past his right eye, to right above his eyebrow. The crack shone gold and the sliver through his red eye was blue. He roared in anger and the world started to shake.
Tiny cracks appeared on the border of the light and darkness as the black expanse slowly started eating away at the sea…
