Chapitre 1: Transfer Student

"I'm heading out, mother."

A boy with ruffled black hair walked out the door of a decent home, shutting it behind him softly before taking in a breath of the fresh air. His amber eyes gazed over the distant rising sun, as well as the calm golden hue of the sky.

It was quite early, six in the morning, in fact. However, Iso was neither tired nor visibly sluggish. He was actually looking forward to today.

Taking in one more relaxed breath, he walked down from the small steps in front of him and typed into a keypad next to the garage door of his home. Soon, it opened up with a subtle hum before his gaze fell on his motorcycle.

'Hey beautiful.' He said inwardly to himself, the corners of his mouth curling upwards in delight. It was an all-black R3, one of the newer ones to date.

Walking over to it, he didn't waste any time, grabbing the helmet and putting it on. Before he mounted it, though, he adjusted the strap that held his duffle-looking bag in place. Currently, he wore his uniform which consisted of a collared white shirt, some comfy black trousers, and a red tie.

'Alright…' Once he mounted, he squeezed the left clutch with one hand and turned the ignition key with the other. A second later, he turned on the kill-switch. Immediately, the whirring noise of the bike resounded throughout the spacious garage, sending a wave of pleasantness through him, increasing his already charmed state.

If there was anything that brought him true joy, it was his R3.

In fact, Iso loved riding in general. It was both freeing and calming to his mind. A fifteen-year old rider was somewhat rare in District Three, though, which surprised a few folks every now and again.

With that, he let out a sigh and shut the visor of his jet-black helmet before riding off.

It was his first day attending the prestigious Ivory Academy, so he didn't want to be late if he could help it. After all, first impressions were impactful, especially in his scenario.

He was a transfer student… one who had joined after two whole weeks of the semester already having passed. This put him on the spot — or at least today it did. Everyone would be somewhat wary of him, perhaps even a bit put off, who knows. He already had an impression that he wanted to paint his image with in any case.

Either way, he had a lot waiting for him today. Hopefully he could get past the awkward introductions and what not, and continue a peaceful four-years of his school-life moving forward. Maybe even make some friends if possible. The previous Academy he attended, that part didn't go so well.

'A fresh start! I mean, how hard could it be?'

Although he was not yet inside the room, Iso could hear several murmurs coming from there which made him a bit antsy. However, quickly, the murmurs came to an abrupt silence the moment Professor Selene spoke, her voice rather authoritative.

"Quiet down students, quiet down." She paused for a brief moment before continuing.

"As you all have already been informed, we have a new student joining us."

From where Iso was standing, he had a clear picture of Professor Selene standing directly behind a professional lectern, her hands resting on each side. He was told not to enter until she gave the signal, which she soon did.

"Please, introduce yourself…" She beckoned for him to enter. Hesitating for a partial second, Iso soon did, walking into view and stopping just next to the Professor who casually moved aside.

'Woah…'

There were more students than he had initially thought…

'... Am I late?' He couldn't help but question.

'No… perhaps most of them were just dorm students.'

Casting that aside, Iso took in the appearance of the inside which was quite prodigious. It was a lecture hall, which was typically accommodating enough for a great number of students, but this one was unlike any other he had seen.

There was a large chandelier hanging above everyone's head, illuminating the space with an astound white light. Several rows aligned the space, with each seat arranged for several students — most already taken. Apart from all that, the decor itself was rich… a marble white contrasting perfectly against the grayish walls that were patterned in a hexagonal design, giving it an almost visual effect.

Riding through the gates outside and having a clear view of the Ivory Academy had already been breathtaking enough. However, now… apart from the serene halls he had walked through, the interior was much more to take in. If he wasn't in the presence of so many, he would've undoubtedly displayed a look of utter shock.

However, right now, his face was as stoic as ever and his body language was calm. Inside, though, he was mesmerized — excited, even. He had managed to pass the entrance exams of the Ivory Academy just barely, and now he was officially a student attending it. Growing up in District Three, all he ever heard were people boasting about the esteemed Ivory Academy. Either parents flaunting over their children who had managed to get in, or children flaunting over themselves in accomplishment of getting in.

In any case, he was here. Although he shouldn't be, he was.

Clearing his throat, Iso spoke, his soft voice traveling far within the spacious hall. "Hello, my name's Iso. Great to meet all of you." He slightly bowed his head before bringing it back up.

His gaze swept over the many students. Some acknowledged his presence, but most doted off or simply didn't care enough to pay him any attention.

Not that Iso desired such attention anyway, he was satisfied with no one caring about him.

It made things easier — more so for blending in as simply that, a transfer student who no one particularly cared for. Considering what awaited him, and the famous Academy Skirmish, he wouldn't have it any other way.

"Alright then. Find a seat, Iso. Class will begin shortly."

He slightly turned toward Professor Selene — someone who's name he had learned from the schedule he was provided with — before nodding. Although she was a professor, her style of attire was rather revealing. Well, partially at least.

The top button of her dress shirt was undone, revealing a portion of her cleavage which Iso tried best not to glance at. Besides that, she herself was quite stunning if he was being frank. She had curly black hair that reached past her shoulders, with a very curvy build. Her eyes were the color of the ocean — a nice blue — with long lashes that paired well with her mature features.

Before long, Iso proceeded to a seat, one in the back to be specific that had caught his eye. But just as he was making his way there, one of the many students surreptitiously extended their leg out into the aisle, deliberately tripping Iso who very innocently fell to the ground with a thud.

A moment later, several laughs erupted within the lecture hall.
