Chapitre 10: Pokemon: I Transmigrated Twice [10]

"What's with that Pokemon… What was it here for?"

Staring out the window where the rare evolve Eevee had just leaped through, Will stood frozen, his expression dazed.

If it were me in that battle… Could I win?

No!

I will win!

I'm Will, a genius after all!

Back in my hometown, not even the adults could defeat me!

"Not necessarily, kid."

Seeing through Will's thoughts, Chuck teased,

"If that new Eevee has a trainer, and they work together, you wouldn't stand a chance."

"That's nonsense! I've never lost since I started my journey!"

Frustrated, Will shouted back before storming out of the Cianwood Gym. Chuck smiled as he watched him leave.

"Still, that evolved Eevee's combat style is truly unique. I wonder what kind of trainer it has. If they enter this year's Indigo League tournament and face Will, that would be something to see."

Plink… Plink…

Pebbles fell from the ceiling, landing on Chuck's head. He looked up at the hole the evolved Eevee had blasted earlier and sighed.

"Guess I'll have to apply to the League for repair funds first."

...

Meanwhile, outside, Stephen met up with Giovanni and immediately began a shopping spree using the man's card.

By the end, they had bought so much that they had to arrange for delivery.

"I've got everything I could for now. The rest will be up to you, Uncle Giovanni," Stephen said, glancing at his shopping list.

Povidone iodine, test tubes, beakers, microscopes…

These basic medical supplies could be bought at specialized stores. But for the more professional-grade equipment, it wasn't so simple. Most of it was monopolized by the Joy family.

Incubators, medical centrifuges, clinical analyzers…

Obtaining these required not only certifications and licenses but also explicit approval from the Joy family.

Stephen had no intention of wasting time dealing with that bureaucracy, so he left it to Giovanni's connections.

Giovanni glanced at the list, noting some items whose purposes he couldn't even guess. The boy was becoming harder to figure out.

"Heh, the cost of all this, along with the house, is worth more than a Dratini," Giovanni remarked half-jokingly.

He had originally planned to gift Stephen a Dratini as a token of goodwill. When Stephen refused, Giovanni had thought he'd saved some money. After all, while Team Rocket was notable in Kanto, it was far from the powerhouse it would become in the future.

But reality proved otherwise—the items Stephen wanted were worth more than the mythical Pokémon.

"You have to spend money to make money. Besides, it's just a Dratini. The returns you'll get in the future will far surpass this," Stephen replied casually.

"Sounds like you're looking down on Dratini a bit. You know it's the dream Pokémon for countless trainers, right?"

Giovanni raised an eyebrow.

"Not at all. It's just… its situation is a bit awkward," Stephen replied cryptically, leaving Giovanni puzzled.

By the time they reached the seaside house, Giovanni's phone rang. After answering, he said,

"The items you wanted are being arranged but will take about a week to arrive."

"That's fine. These supplies will keep me busy for a while," Stephen replied as he directed the movers.

"Put the desk here, and the lab bench by the window. Thanks for your hard work."

The workers nodded and directed their Machokes to move the items.

Watching the scene, Stephen recalled that in Emerald, Machokes were the ones who helped the protagonist move. Or was it Vigoroth? He couldn't quite remember.

Then he noticed the label on the truck: "Machoke Moving Company."

Yup, Pokémon are fully integrated into human life in this world.

Soon, another group arrived.

Leading them was a middle-aged man in a tailored suit—tall, lean, with gray hair and an air of sophistication. Stephen noticed the badge on the man's suit, which read:

President · Ritsuki

"Long time no see, President Ritsuki," Giovanni greeted, shaking hands with him and accepting a housing contract.

"Can we put this boy's name as the owner?"

Giovanni gestured toward Stephen with his thumb.

"If he's a minor... Normally, the League forbids it. But for you, Mr. Giovanni, I can make an exception."

Ritsuki smiled politely, his curiosity piqued as he studied Stephen.

"But may I ask, who is this young man?"

"Er, he's…"

Giovanni hesitated.

Damn, I forgot to come up with a story!

Stephen smirked and began, "A wandering soul in search of a worthy—"

"Uh, he's my nephew," Giovanni interrupted hastily, cutting him off.

For some reason, Giovanni had a gut feeling that letting Stephen finish would bring him nothing but trouble.
