Chapitre 1: Pilot

In a certain region, war and death are a common sight everywhere you go. In the heart of this war-torn region, Tristan awoke to the horrifying sounds of humans and Pokemon dying as different attacks ripped them apart in brutal fashion.

Tristan, trying to blink the black dots that dotted his vision away, awoke to a blistering headache and a searing pain on his left side. Panic instantly set in; the last thing Tristan remembered was his black ops unit tasked with infiltrating the Kremlin being discovered and his unit being decimated by the bullets and grenades tossed into the safehouse they were staying in.

Finally clearing his vision, he found himself lying amidst the debris of what was once a vast, green field. The air around him is thick with the acrid smell of scorched earth, and the sounds of battle echo all around. Confused and disoriented, Tristan tries to get up, only to feel a weight on his chest. Craning his neck to look down, the sight of a young male face, definitely not Russian or American, staring up at him lifelessly causes bile to rise in his throat.

Struggling to choke it down, Tristan rolls the body of himself before staggering to his feet and raising his head to look at his surroundings. As soon as his eyes lock onto his surroundings, an explosion occurs in front of him, sending him flying onto his back. Rolling over with his breath knocked out of him, Tristan stumbles to his feet and staggers to the first person he sees, confused and disoriented.

The figure, dressed in a red, black, and gold uniform, immediately began yelling over the explosions and screaming in his face.

"-UR -OKE- A- RE-RN TO THE -ELD," the man yelled in his face. Still confused and hard of hearing from the earlier explosion, Tristan said the one thing he could do in this situation.

"WHAT," Tristan screamed back before shutting his mouth with an audible click after catching sight of the monstrosity next to the man. Grey, scale-like sections that were covered in dirt and grime yet still seemed to be gleaming. They started from the tail and expanded until they reached the head, where two pitch-black eyes above a large black mouth gleamed as they stared into Tristan's soul.

"LEVY," the man shouted at Tristan. As he shouted, memories flooded into his head of a second life he hadn't lived yet. At that moment, he understood. He wasn't on Earth anymore. He wasn't in the Milkway Galaxy anymore. Hell, he wasn't in his universe anymore. He was in the Pokemon universe. He wasn't in a peaceful region such as Alola or a well-developed region such as Hoenn, according to his memories.

No, he was in the war-ravaged region known as Ransei, where Warlords were constantly battling each other for supremacy. Not only was he in a region that thrives on war, but he was in a battle between the Kingdom of Cragspur and the Kingdom of Viperia. With this horrifying realization, Tristan refocused on the man in front of him as they grabbed and shook his shoulders to get his attention.

Now closer to Tristan, the man spoke with a loud tone to be heard above the battle, "Grab your Pokemon and return to the battlefield. I don't know which Squire you are under, but return to them NOW."

He then spun Tristan around and shoved him toward the explosions and screaming. Stumbling off toward the battlefield, Tristan wracked his memory, trying to remember someone with the title of Squire. Finally remembering a man called Ujiyutu and the place he had last seen him, he carefully made his way in hopefully the right direction.

As he made his way towards a rocky hill in the distance, Tristan no, Deimos carefully reviewed the memories he had received. The body he had now taken over, in a sense, was named Deimos Agiad. He was a 14-year-old orphan from Cragspur who had been given an Ekans and thrown into the current war between Cragspur and Viperia. Said Ekans was in a Pokeball, held in a death grip by Deimos.

From the one-month training that previous Deimos had been given before being thrust into this war, he was somewhat knowledgeable of the current political landscape of Ransei. The Kingdoms of Cragspur, Viperia, and Yaksha usually fought each other on a regular basis. To the North, Nixstorm and Dragnor held intense hate for each other and always fought. Spectra was coming off a loss to Valora and was regaining its strength.

Valora was unusually quiet but was most likely preparing for an offensive against Avia due to Terrera assaulting Avia. Illusio was doing nothing, most likely due to the Kingdom rising due to psychic plates; Deimos had no idea what that meant. Pugilis was fending off a two-way assault from Violight and Chrysalia. The trio of Ignis, Fontaine, and Greenleaf were once more at each other throats and engaged in constant battles.

Aurora, the final Kingdom, did nothing and was neutral. However, this was due to the latest Warlord dying in battle to Ignis. It was expected that a new one might rise to power within the next year. Refocusing his mind, Deimos reached the rocky hill and spotted a man with white hair held back by a red headband among the soldiers carefully peering over the top of a bunker. Deimos started climbing to him, only to duck down as a gunkshot hit the top of the hill, sending poison splattering everywhere.

Reaching the man, Deimos hesitantly called out, "Ujiyuto?"

Faintly hearing his name, Ujiyutu turned his neck a little bit to spot Deimos as he reached his location. The grimace on the man's face turned into a grin when he saw Deimos.

"Deimos, you're still alive!" Ujiyuto called out, feeling relieved. "I thought you got melted down with the rest of the team by that sludge bomb earlier!"

Deimos's heart immediately plummeted as he realized why his side was killing him. Looking down, he realized it wasn't that he had fallen on it; it was because the skin had been melted off by poison. Once more, swallowing back bile, he shakily told Ujiyutu, "Y-yeah, I, um, almost died with the rest. I got hit, though," while glancing back down at his wound.

Following his eyes, Ujiyutu glanced at the wound before raising his eyes in curiosity. He wasn't a poison expert or anything, but there was no way Deimos should've been able to stand, much less reach his position with a wound like that. "Come here then, boy, let's apply a potion to it before the next charge," the man gruffly stated.

Deimos climbed the last few steps before collapsing beside Ujiyutu in the one-way bunker he was positioned in. As Ujiyutu took a potion out of a small handbag, Deimos asked, "Charge?"

"Yeah, Captain Ujikuni wants our division to punch through the Viperia lines while Commander Kai launches a diversion on the northeastern front."

He shuddered as he realized that he was on the front lines of what was soon to most likely going to be a bloodbath. "Alrighty, I'm all done here. If you get hit there again, the attack will most likely pierce through, and that'll be the end of you," Ujiyutu said solemnly.

"I see you have your Pokeball in your hand ready. Let that be your first lesson; never keep it in your bag; always have it out," Ujiyutu advised before saying, "We'll be charging tonight in around six hours; use that time to prepare yourself mentally."

Giving him a nod, Deimos focused his thoughts inwards on what mattered. He wasn't a stranger to war and death, but facing creatures that had the potential to be walking nuclear bombs was on an entirely different stare. Imagine facing Cynthia's Garchomp or Leon's Charizard on a battlefield; there is no comparison like it.

The Warlords of the Cragspur and Viperia Kingdoms were pathetically weak compared to either Cynthia or Leon. They only had one Pokemon, whereas Cynthia and Leon would have a full team of champion-level Pokemon. The Warlord of Cragspur, Ujiyasu, uses a Gigalith. A pure rock-type Pokemon that is around the gym leader level. The Warlord of Viperia, Nene, uses a Crobat. A poison-flying type Pokemon that is also around the gym leader level.

From his memories, the strongest person in a Kingdom is the Warlord, then the Commander, Captains, Lieutenants, Knights, Squires, Pages, and lastly, the Levies. Deimos was a Levy assigned to Squire Ujiyutu's team. The other four members of the team died from a sludge bomb early on, so that left him and Ujiyutu.

The only reason he survived taking a hit from that sludge bomb is probably that he either transmigrated or reincarnated as Deimos. He could tell, based on the look Ujiyutu gave him, that he wasn't supposed to survive that wound. He should've died with the rest of the team.

Looking down at the Pokeball in his hands, Deimos quickly reviewed what he knew about the Ekans Cragspur had given him. It was a fairly young Pokemon that knew three moves: Poison Sting, Wrap, and Bite. All in all, it was not very useful, considering he now had to charge a trench three hundred meters away. If Poison Sting could even make it a sixth of the distance, he'd be surprised.

A few hours later, Deimos was reviewing different ways that he could try and survive the coming battle when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Deimos turned his head to look at Ujiyutu, who had a solemn expression. "It's time." He spoke with a foreboding tone.
