"What!!!"

Hearing Ash's words, Brock's expression changed. He watched as Pikachu used Iron Tail, but it didn't attack Onix directly. Instead, Pikachu leaped higher, twisted its body, and swung its tail towards the ceiling.

"That's it!!" Misty exclaimed, looking at the ceiling. Next to the light, there was a device attached to a cast metal beam.

Boom!!!

Hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

Pikachu's tail slammed into the device on the crossbeam with amazing force. There was an explosion, and smoke filled the air, only to be quickly dispersed. From the destroyed device, water sprayed down like rain, enveloping the entire venue.

The device Pikachu destroyed was the fire prevention system in the gymnasium, something every gym must have for emergencies. Not only the Pewter Gym but even the Cerulean Gym is equipped with it.

As rain poured down, Onix's dry body was soaked immediately. It was clear Onix didn't like this weather; the rain made it feel very uncomfortable, and it howled in pain.

Brock frowned. He had been a Gym Trainer for a long time and had never encountered such a strategy.

"Pikachu, use Thunder Shock!!!"

Unlike in the anime, Ash had helped Pikachu learn Iron Tail but hadn't focused on honing Thunderbolt. In the anime, Pikachu learned Thunderbolt by using a water wheel to generate electricity with Flint's help. While touching, it was indeed a shortcut. Misty even mentioned it was a shortcut in the anime.

It's not clearly stated in the anime, but Ash remembered hearing that Pikachu's electric sac shouldn't be touched casually. Using the waterwheel method could burden Pikachu's body or shorten its lifespan. Although it didn't affect Pikachu's performance later on, Ash had no intention of using that method again.

According to the games, Thunderbolt is a high-level move. Think about it, why is Pikachu called the "Pikachu"? Thunderbolt, which is learned at level 30+ in the games, is learned at the beginning in the anime.

So now, Pikachu's electric-type move is only Thunder Shock. Normally, electric moves have no effect on Onix. But with the whole site drenched in water, the water would conduct electricity and greatly enhance the power of the attack.

Even if it's just Thunder Shock, in this kind of weather, it can have the power of Thunderbolt.

This is incomparable to the games, where type matchups are everything. In the games, if it doesn't work, it simply won't work. You can't make electric-type moves damage ground-type Pokémon just by using Rain Dance.

Boom!

The electric current cut down, guided by the rainwater along the entire field to Onix.

Moo!

The Thunder Shock didn't do much harm to Onix, but the rain was a different story. The increased power of the current hindered Onix's movements.

"Onix!!" Brock shouted worriedly.

Ash didn't waste this moment. With Onix's actions blocked, Ash seized the right moment.

"Pikachu, use Iron Tail!!"

Pika~chuu!!

Upon hearing Ash, Pikachu stopped discharging. The power was still maintained due to the rain. Pikachu fell from the sky, the metallic luster appearing on its tail again. Using the power of falling from the sky, Pikachu cast Iron Tail with all its strength.

Boom!

At the moment when Onix couldn't move freely, Iron Tail hit Onix's head directly with a loud sound and an explosion. The smoke mixed with the rain, Onix wailed, and its body fell from the smoke, hitting the ground heavily and splashing water everywhere.

"Yeah!!!" Misty clasped her hands in front of her chest excitedly. Ash had actually defeated Onix with Pikachu.

"Onix!!!" Brock looked at the field, frowning. Onix listened to Brock's voice but couldn't respond. Its eyes were closed, brows furrowed, and head raised slightly as if it still wanted to fight. However, the falling rain made it very difficult for Onix to move.

Ash was a little surprised Onix hadn't fallen yet, but he was planning to take his time.

"Pikachu, use Iron Tail again..."

Just as he was about to give the order to strike Onix one last time, several figures appeared in front of him, blocking Ash and rushing towards him aggressively.

Ash's expression changed slightly. He took a step back to distance himself from them, seeing a child looking at him with hostility.

"Don't bully the Onix that big brother worked so hard to train!!"

A few children stood in front of Ash with firm expressions. Seeing this, Ash turned his eyes away from them. He didn't expect the plot development to differ from the anime, yet here was the same situation again. The child looked at Brock.

"Is this a Pokémon League regulation??" Of course, Ash knew there was no such regulation, but he asked on purpose.

To be honest, he didn't know what the original Ash was thinking, but he was unhappy about being interrupted. He won by skill and strategy, not by luck like in the original story.

Brock looked at the scene and heard Ash's words. He could hear the tone in Ash's voice. He felt moved seeing his brothers and sisters like this, but also very angry.

"Brother... big brother! I'm sorry, I... I didn't stop them!" Forrest, the oldest of the children, came up behind Brock. He was the second oldest in the family.

His personality was also the closest to Brock's. Although younger, he was very mature and took the initiative to help Brock care for their younger siblings. Originally, he tried to stop them, but there were too many, and he couldn't manage it alone.
