Chapitre 54: M'Baku - the guardian of Wakanda

It has been one month since Erik dragged Wakandan King T'Chaka outside their borders and put him in the prison on the shadow isles. It was not for revenge but for giving him the punishment of killing someone without a trial and without due procedure. Also, it was punishment on behalf of the rest of African countries for abandoning them in their hour of need.

No matter what, there were too many inconsistencies in T'Chaka's motive for killing his brother and then abandoning his son in the US. Also, there was no justification for keeping Wakanda hidden from the rest of the world. Are you afraid of a global war against you? Please, you have the most advanced weapons and vibranium technology that the whole world can only think about.

So, king T'Chaka was prisoned. Wakandans were imprisoned in their own shield borders and there was chaos and infighting happening in that country for the throne or a leadership position.

T'Challa and Shuri recovered after Erik left the Wakanda but there were new changes. Shuri lost her advanced thinking and gift of knowledge and T'Challa lost his fighting instinct. Without the blessing of BAST, T'Challa could never fight other tribal fighters, especially from the Jabari Tribe.

Like the Golden tribe of the royal family, they were also blessed by a dimensional god and unlike the golden tribe, who worshipped 'BAST', they worshipped gorilla god 'HANUMAN'. J'Abari tribe lived in the mountains and shunned the use of vibranium and removed themselves from mainstream society in Wakanda. They were never given a seat at the Tribal council because of their opposite views from the Golden tribe.

Unlike the king and other council leaders, they were strong supporters of helping other African countries and wanted to go out and fight for them. Their God always told them to go out to fight for those who were oppressed.

However, without support from other tribes and the king's opposition, they could only keep living in mountains. After Erik left, in the next one month, many tribal leaders supported their leaders and M'Baku, the newly chosen leader of their tribe challenged T'Challa and ended up defeating him publicly.

Unlike BAST which went from Egypt to Wakanda and chose to bless her champion from there only, HANUMAN was famous all over the Asian region and had blessed many champions from India to China in past.

Hence, when BAST took her blessing away from the Panther tribe, Hanuman blessed M'Baku to maintain peace and stability in that region. His blessing gave M'Baku superior strength, agility and healing ability.

M'Baku easily defeated T'Challa and was crowned as the new guardian (since Erik was technically their king by tradition). He put Zuri in Wakanda prison for abandoning and misleading its Prince N'Jobu. He knew that Erik was someone who could have killed their king and started a bloodbath here with his forces, yet Erik punished them like a true leader and not a vengeance hungry monster.

After Erik left Wakanda, he asked Martha to release all the news about the recent African continent that he kept hidden from Wakandan servers. Reading all that changed the faces of many tribal council leaders. M'Baku released all the information for the public and for once, the people of Wakanda were confused.

Was the decision to keep themselves hidden from the rest of the world was correct? Did they abandon the rest of Africa for their own selfishness? Was the idea of hiding in a shield was meant for their protection or keeping them ahead and superior from the rest of the world?

"This is the third time we meet in the last one month. Third time. I don't think we have anything new to discuss. So, tell me why we are all here again?" M'Baku asked all the other tribal leaders in council.

Ever since he reorganized the council, he gave one seat to all the new chosen leaders and sacked all the old ones. The old leaders chose to support the isolation policies and the current situation was somehow result of their inaction or action.

This made the whole council filled with 20 something boys apart from the old shaman and the new advisor, the ex-queen mother, Ramonda.

"As a new leader of Wakanda, you must stand up and fight for our rights. An army is standing outside our very borders and reminding us that we are imprisoned inside by our own king. We must do something, or the people of the border tribe will end up fighting with those soldiers." One of the tribal leaders said.

"And why must we do something?" M'Baku asked confusingly.

"Because otherwise the world will know about our presence, and it makes no sense for us to keep that shield. There are many in border tribe who takes this army posted outside as an insult." – Another leader said trying to make their king understand the issue, but they all ignored one thing.

M'Baku was not stupid. He saw the bigger picture than anyone else in the room.

"Tell me, what would you do, if the man who killed your father was lying at your feet? Will you crush his skull or drag him to prison? Know this, there is no one who will question you about your actions or anyone to punish you for that?

Let me tell you, that man, Erik Stevenson, came here not only as the son of late Prince N'Jobu but also as the king of United Africa. The army outside is our punishment but also for our own security.

Sooner or later, we must bring our shields down but that will bring a lot of attention and our King wants to make sure, that no uninvited guests enter our territory.

Make no mistake, if border tribe wants to fight, there won't be a battle but a massacre. Don't test a king who has shown benevolence and tolerance. As I said in the last meeting, we must find better ways to live and use our vibranium instead of putting it everywhere.

Vibranium is not the source of life, it is the land on which we stand. The land we ignored for hundreds of years. Vibranium is just a gift from space but now, we must find better ways to use it. One day, the our king will need us, and I hope we are ready with everything.

Think beyond weapons and fighting. How can Wakanda become the capital of Africa, if we are given this chance? Bring a proposal so I can go and meet him without keeping my head down.

Now, the meeting is over. Go back and tell the kids, if they fight, they will be hunted down from the forces both outside and inside."
