Chapitre 37: The Fight!
"Thunderbolt: Yaksha!"
As the men in cloaks were discussing their plans, a sudden loud chant startled them all. A large bolt of lightning suddenly descended from the sky before splitting into 5 and attacking them individually.
Out of 14 members of the Vatican who were gathered together, 3 were hit directly while two barely avoided it at the last minute.
The leader of the team, who had a hawk-like nose, was one of the two individuals to avoid the attack. He looked at the entrance with all his guard up, while the three people, including Bai Yang, instantly collapsed to the ground, turning into charred messes from the impact of the attack.
"Well well well, what an ugly gathering we have."
Sounds of footsteps echoed in the silent hall as Damon and his 4 bodyguards entered the room casually, without any vigilance.
The five men entered the dark hall with complete nonchanlance as they looked at the members of Black Vatican.
"Who are you?" the leader of the Vatican asked in a low voice as he felt the aura of the intruder, squinting his eyes dangerously.
Damon gave off an aura of a peak primary mage, while the others all emitted the aura of peak intermediate level. The group was surprisingly strong for the Black Vatican to handle.
The leader himself was a second-level intermediate mage with three other primary mages, and the rest were all primary mages.
Damon didn't answer the question but looked at his opponents. Obviously, in terms of strength, he had the upper hand but was outnumbered.
'Quite a weak group, aren't they?' For an organization with such a fierce reputation as the Black Vatican, the bunch before Damon felt like a joke.
They are said to be the most infamous organisation of all time but here even the strongest member is an intermediate carrying out an operation as viscious as Bo City Disaster.
"Fire Burst: Scorch!"
One of the primary mages of the Vatican suddenly conjured his starpath and released a fireball toward Damon's group, initiating the attack first, only for it to be dispersed easily by Damon, who conjured a spatial shield suddenly in front of him, saving himself from the attack.
The bodyguards were surprised for a second, sensing the spatial powers, but quickly shifted their attention to their opponents, each taking an intermediate mage as their opponent, leaving Damon to deal with the remaining seven primary mages as his opponents.
This was requested by Damon himself, as he wanted to see the results of his three years of training, letting his bodyguards deal with the intermediate mages and the dark beasts they commanded.
"Ice Spread." First to attack Damon among the seven was Yu Ang, who used his ice magic to freeze Damon. Damon, however, just stomped his foot on the ground lightly.
Flames suddenly conjured up around Damon's legs, flowing through the earth and forming a circular domain of fire beneath him, shielding him from the chilling ice and catching Yu Ang by surprise.
Raising his hands, the lightning began to dance around Damon's palms, taking the shape of a python's head, and he launched it at the nearest Vatican member, who was still conjuring his spell.
The spell hit directly on his head, causing it to explode on impact.
"Lightning and Fire? An intermediate mage!"
One of the members of the Black Vatican exclaimed in surprise as Damon conjured another bolt of lightning and threw it at them.
"No..."
Yu Ang, who evaded the lightning attack narrowly, whispered to himself as he looked at Damon conjuring more lightning and throwing it at his team.
"You... you are the SAME as him?" Yu Ang's eyes filled with anger and confusion as he looked at Damon. A crazed look, filled with the intent to kill, appeared in his eyes as he launched another ice-based attack at Damon, only for Damon to silently turn into a shadow, taking Yu Ang by surprise.
The shadow flew through the frozen land, appearing in front of Yu Ang within a split second, transforming back into its humanoid figure. Damon overshadowed Yu Ang, grabbing his neck firmly and lifting him high into the air without any effort, before slamming the bandaged youth against the hard wall.
"Same as who? Your father?"
Damon tightened his grip on Yu Ang's neck, pressing his head against the wall and causing cracks to form like cobwebs.
"Earth Wave!"
One of the members of the Vatican suddenly pushed both his hands onto the ground, chanting the earth elemental spell, causing the ground to ripple.
The ripples traveled toward Damon, pushing him away from Yu Ang and startling him into releasing his grip.
"Fire Burst!"
Another individual conjured a fireball, sending it flying towards Damon, who was on the verge of losing his balance. The fiery crimson ball, the size of a basketball, flew towards Damon, attempting to catch him off guard.
Damon's eyes widened as he saw the incoming attack. With the fire inches away from hitting him, Damon had no time to deploy any shield.
'Fenrir!'
As the crimson coloured took over his vision Damon's left hand suddenly began to glow with a dark aura.. black and amethyst coloured aura swirled his entire arm, the world seemed to slow down as his tattoos hidden under his black clothing began to glow dimly.
Small scale like growths suddenly began to appear on Damon's hand, one, two, ten, hundreds and thousands of tiny scale like armour suddenly began to appear on his hands covering it at a rapid pace.
From the hand to his shoulders and palms, his fingers and their tips all growed with a dark aura as the dark gauntlet type armour accompanied by amethyst hue.
The smooth armour with claws sharp to cut even the sturdiest of steels took the hold of Damon's hand.
Within a split of a second Damon's arm was now covered with the otherworldy gauntlet as Damon with all of his strength slammed down on the incoming fireball.
Boom!
