“Are you sure that he will be, okay?” I couldn’t help but ask Douglas worriedly after watching Peter leaving the private room in a huff.
“Heh, he is a grown-up man. Why should you worry about him?”
“But …. He_”
“If he can’t understand such simple logic, don’t tell me that you want to run after him?” Douglas exclaimed as he glared at me.
I hurriedly shook my head in denial.
“No. I won’t follow him. I just don’t want him to, you know, think of me as a bad person!” I said dejectedly as I thought of how I might have lost my friend over a relationship.
“We are all bad people. The only difference here is that both of us acted on our impulses, but he was a coward who didn’t dare confess his feelings. Are you telling me that you will sacrifice the happiness you just received just because your friend feels like you are wrecking someone else’s marriage? Besides, do you even think that you wrecked it with what Anesu is like?” Douglas scoffed as he said that.
