Tadiwa Michaels (POV)

As I sat on top of the bed, I couldn’t help but applaud myself for the brave act that I had done.
When the whole family was clamoring on going to church for Good Friday service, my head was only filled with licentious thoughts towards that man that had become partially my lover.
Who cared what day it was?
Who cared if he was taken and also my friend’s father?
Before he was an elder in the church, my parents’ friend, my friend’s father and another woman’s husband. He was a man that I desperately loved and obsessed with.
Instead of just continuing to be docile and sacrificing myself all the time, this time, I wasn’t playing.
Honestly, I would applaud myself for being courageous because of Douglas. If it wasn’t for his scorn and courage that day when I was confiding in Peter, I don’t know where I would be right now.
