Chapitre 8: Yotsuba Island
Coming into the dock we were greeted by a rather friendly man who asked us for a docking fee. We easily paid the man using some of the loot from Alvidas ship. We then grabbed a few essentials in case of a fight before locking the Cabin and heading into town.
The first thing we did was head towards the marine base so that Coby can see the reality of marine corruption. once reaching the training yard for the marines it was completely quiet, momo made some step stools and we peeked over the wall to reveal a man tied loosely to a crucifix. Zoro the pirate hunter, a user of the three sword style and possibly the strongest swordsman in the east blue.
As we were observing Zoros state there was a small wooden thud as a ladder was propped up against the wall beside us. I attempted to grab the girl before she jumped the wall but I was just too slow, I resigned myself and watched as the girl ran up to Zoro and offered him a rice ball she had made. Zoro yelled at her and tried to get her to leave but he was too late as Helmeppo the spoilt son of the leader of the local marines entered the yard. Helmeppo was a selfish brat that threw around his father's authority as much as he could, He wore a gaudy purple suit and had his blonde hair propped up in an umbrella shape with a section cut out for his face.
Helmeppo was flanked by two soldiers who looked quite disturbed to be here and were clearly just doing their jobs. He walked up to Zoro and the young girl while letting out an ugly laugh as he snatched one of the rice balls from the little girl while claiming that she must have made them from him, this hit him with a bit of karma as he spat out the rice ball in disgust while exclaiming "Disgusting! It's sweet! There's sugar on it! Rice balls are supposed to be seasoned with salt not sugar!" The little girl replied "b-but I like sweets, so I figured sugar would be better" Helmeppo then showed his disgusting personality again as he kicked the rice balls out of the girls hands and stomped them into the ground She then started crying as Helmeppo whispered something to her and then ordered one of the marines to throw her over the fence, He even had to threaten the marine that if he didn't then he would tell his daddy.
As the marine begrudgingly picked up the girl and threw her Momo had already prepared and had a large air cushion made for her to land on. As Coby and Momo tended to the girl I watched Helmeppo leave before I jumped the fence and walked up to Zoro he eyed me and clearly knew I saw Helmeppos act. as I went to step closer to him my system activated.
[Quest begins: Save Zoro and purge the island of its corruption]
After closing my system I stepped over to Zoro and he was about to say something before I bent down and picked up the girls smashed rice balls while muttering "what a waste" I dusted them off and held them up to Zoro, He stared at me with an incredulous look "Come on now I know you have not eaten in weeks, the least you can do is survive so that girl does not live the rest of her life in regret" He seemed shocked at my statement before quickly wolfing down the dirt-encrusted rice balls and crying while exclaiming how delicious they were.
I laughed loudly and declared that he would not have to suffer for much longer before I confidently walked towards the marine base, meeting up with Momo and Coby at the gate showing Zoro a confident sight. As we approached the marine base it was obvious that they were currently attempting to raise a massive statue on the top of the four-story building so I asked Momo for the sniper rifle to enact the first part of my plan.
First, we found a small hill a distance away and instructed Coby to use the sniper to shoot the ropes that they were using to hold up the statue, he was hesitant at first but was convinced once he looked through the scope and saw that the statue was of Captain Morgan and was clearly just a glamour project. The next step consisted of Momo and me waiting just outside the marine base, as soon as Coby caused the statue to fall we used the ensuing chaos to enter the base and look for Helmeppo's room so that we can retrieve Zoro's swords.
It didn't take long to find Helmeppos room as his door had a bright pink flower wreath with a sign reading "My Room" hung on it. inside the room, we found Helmeppo who glanced at us standing in his doorway, as he took a second to process that he didn't know us Momo quickly closed the gap and knocked him out with her stun baton. We were then easily able to take Zoro's swords and get out of the base before the chaos died down.
After meeting back up with Coby he was greatly shaken at what he had done but we were able to calm him down by reassuring him that it was all for the greater good, he had clearly seen some of the marines being beaten by Captain Morgan due to the perceived slight of dropping his statue. We then met back up with Zoro and cut his bindings before handing him his swords, He quickly inspected Wado Ichimonji and was clearly at ease that it hadn't been used.
With Zoro added to our force, we marched back to the marine base and using a megaphone Momo had made I declared "Axe hand morgan you are hereby stripped of all rank due to the following crimes: Embezzlement, Submitting false reports, abuse of power, neglection of duty and False Imprisonment. If you submit quietly then you will have an easier time at Marineford during your trial". Coby and Zoro stared at me blankly as I shot them a wink to signify that it was just an excuse to get morgan out here.
There was a loud shout from inside the base before a lot of crashing sounds, Then there were heavy footsteps until we were face to face with a man twice our size Axe Hand Morgan "Who are you to strip me of my rank and accuse me of crimes" "We are here as representatives of Fleet Admiral Sengoku, now will you be coming quietly or will force be required?" Morgan was incensed at my answer, clearly too guilty to consider if I was lying he responded by swinging his massive axe, attempting to cleave us all at once.
While Zoro and Momo entered a Fighting Stance, Coby cowered in fear. I raised my hand and met morgans attack with my paw causing his axe to be flung backwards with increased force and knocking him off balance, he tried to regain his footing but before he could Momo and Zoro both gave him massive blows and he was quickly unconscious.
I then used the megaphone again to declare "Axe hand morgan has been subdued you no longer need to fear his tyranny" at this slowly a few marines started looking out the windows before they quickly started shouting and running through the base, It wasn't long before the vice commander was in front of us bowing his head in appreciation that Morgan had been taken down. He asked us if there was anything we needed to which I replied "I understand that you have been simply following orders but due to the inaction of you all Morgan was allowed his reign, it will now fall on you to deliver him to headquarters along with the evidence of his crimes that I know you have been cataloguing. The vice caption looked at me shocked before shaking his head and declaring that they would be happy to.
Momo made a pair of reinforced cuffs to restrain Morgan with as Coby was run through the paperwork needed in order to join the Marines. When Morgan was loaded onto the ship Helmeppo came running out crying for his daddy, seeing his father in chains he started shouting at the marines to release him and how it was insubordination, at this point Morgan attempted to take Helmeppo hostage but found that the cuffs were too hard for him to break out of, The marines quickly pinned him down as he stared at Helmeppo and declared that he never thought of him as his son. Helmeppo was crushed at these words as he fell to his knees, but I knew this would only be a temporary setback for him.
Zoro was still hanging around so I walked off to a less populated area before talking to him "Well you are free again now, whats the plan from here" "I thank you for your assistance and assure you that I will someday repay this favour, but for now I will continue on my journey to become the worlds greatest swordsman!" I smiled at his ideal and assured him that he has what it takes before my system popped up.
