Chapitre 186: East Blue Destroys The Plan

Logically speaking, the Son of Destiny is bound to embark on his journey to the sea.

In the original story, the emergence of the "Worst Generation" signalled that the Great Pirate Era had reached its peak intensity.

This was especially notable because, since the start of the Great Pirate Era, there had never been a year where a double-digit number of supernovas emerged at once.

The rise of the "Worst Generation" occurred precisely in the year 1520 of the Sea Circle Calendar—a new beginning. All of this ties directly to the destiny of the Son of Destiny, Monkey D. Luffy.

Just as in the world of Naruto, where Uzumaki Naruto, during his first C-rank mission, encountered Zabuza, an elite Jōnin-level threat, Luffy's destiny as the liberator and the Son of Prophecy also required numerous outstanding figures to enhance his extraordinary journey.

Even though Kahn had altered some events—like cutting Nami from the story and eliminating the Arlong Pirates early on—Luffy's journey still followed the natural flow of destiny. After setting sail, he met Coby and successfully recruited Roronoa Zoro, who is the perfect second-in-command, much like Silvers Rayleigh for Gol D. Roger and Ben Beckman for Shanks. This took place in Shells Town.

Then, Luffy went on to recruit Usopp in Syrup Village and Sanji at the sea restaurant Baratie. Even without Nami's presence, and despite encountering Colonel Nezumi, Luffy still managed to gain a bounty before leaving East Blue.

Interestingly, this bounty was even higher than Krieg's 17 million berries. Luffy's bounty rose to an impressive 53 million berries.

This bounty wasn't due to Luffy defeating Axe-Hand Morgan, Don Krieg, or even Kuro, who faked his death. Instead, it was a result of Luffy's involvement in the "Millennium Dragon" incident, which took place before he even entered the Grand Line.

Yes, even without a navigator, the Straw Hat Pirates encountered the Millennium Dragon event, and after successfully concluding it, Luffy received a higher bounty than in the original timeline.

When Kahn, who had been keeping an eye on sea-related news, saw the new bounty poster in 1520, the same way he had monitored events in 1517, he couldn't help but smile in surprise. The plot was starting to change in unexpected ways.

Even the "Children of Destiny," the three sworn brothers—Luffy, Ace, and Sabo—each with remarkable luck, were feeling the ripple effects of Kahn's Butterfly Storm.

Ace didn't join the Whitebeard Pirates, instead reuniting with Sabo in the New World. Luffy's first bounty had also shifted dramatically, and these were just the early signs of much larger changes to come.

Yet, many events remained unchanged.

For instance, after the Straw Hat Pirates entered the Grand Line, Luffy, who inherited Roger's iconic straw hat, still encountered Nefertari Vivi, who had infiltrated Baroque Works undercover. Luffy chose the same path as the Roger Pirates when helping Vivi.

However, unlike the fully prepared journey of the Roger Pirates, the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates were far more thrilling and unpredictable.

In Whiskey Peak, Luffy, intrigued by the Seven Warlords of the Sea, still chose to escort Vivi back to Alabasta. Along the way, they encountered Mr. 3 on Little Garden, and thanks to him, they obtained an Eternal Pose, bypassing the need to spend a year storing magnetic energy to leave the prehistoric island.

Fate, it seems, also linked Luffy to Chopper.

Even with Nami cut from the crew, and despite Vivi being bitten by a venomous insect during her battle with Mr. 3, they ended up in the largest medical country—Drum Island. Though there was only one doctor remaining, fate had guided them there.

The gears of destiny kept turning, and despite changes caused by Kahn's actions, the Son of Destiny's path continued to unfold.

The butterfly effect continues to ripple through the timeline.

Since the Logia-type Dark-Dark Fruit was intercepted, Teach (Blackbeard) never defected from the Whitebeard Pirates. Instead, he rose through the ranks, becoming the captain of the second division after Ace passed up the role. As a result, after his father's death, Wapol, the new king of the Drum Kingdom, was never frightened away by Teach and remained in his country, doing as he pleased.

Years earlier, the "Cross Family" had hollowed out all the doctors from the Drum Kingdom, leaving the country weakened. Wapol's father was still alive, but the kingdom had already fallen out of the ranks of the top 50 nations, meaning it could no longer participate in the quadrennial World Summit. As a result, when Wapol became king, he was not eligible to attend the World Summit, nor did he cross paths with Cobra or knock down Vivi, as in the original story.

However, despite these changes, Wapol couldn't escape the fate of being beaten by Luffy.

With no economy and a habit of exploiting his people for pleasure, Wapol became a victim of Luffy's recruitment of Chopper. Luffy knocked Wapol out of the Drum Kingdom with his signature Rubber-Rubber Rocket attack.

What's fascinating is that, just like in the original timeline, Wapol didn't die after being ejected from the kingdom. Instead, he left the Drum Kingdom and soon developed the highly sought-after "Wapol Alloy" using the abilities of his Munch-Munch Fruit. Wapol Alloy, a shape-memory material, gained worldwide popularity, and even two years later, Franky would incorporate it into his designs.

Wapol's success led him to the peak of his life, becoming a globally recognized super-rich figure, and he even won the favour of the World Nobles, becoming the king of the Black Drum Kingdom. His kingdom soon re-entered the top 50, allowing him to participate in the World Summit two years later.

But in this altered timeline, Wapol's fortune took a turn.

The Paramecia-type Munch-Munch Fruit is considered one of the top-tier Paramecia abilities. For the past two years, Kahn and Carina, wielding the powers of the Logia Dark-Dark Fruit, have been scouring the world for powerful abilities, including the Paramecia rule-type Dull Fruit. Missing out on Wapol's Munch-Munch Fruit was out of the question for them.

The reason Kahn allowed Wapol to live for so long was to let him develop the Wapol Alloy first. Once that achievement was complete, Kahn swooped in, obtaining both the alloy and the Paramecia power for his army of enhanced and transformed soldiers.

Meanwhile, after recruiting Chopper, the Straw Hat Pirates sailed to Alabasta, successfully helping Vivi quell the civil war.

Luffy, despite having only a 53-million-berry bounty and no mastery of Haki, defeated a powerful Logia user. This included the ultimate Logia-type Sand-Sand Fruit user, Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, who stood among the mightiest in the New World.

This event was so unbelievable. It defied expectations.

Although the World Government tried to cover up the story by crediting Smoker for the defeat of Crocodile, Luffy's bounty quietly surged to 133 million berries, an increase of 80 million berries. Zoro, his right-hand man, also saw his bounty rise to 70 million berries, slightly higher than in the original timeline.

After the Alabasta incident, the Straw Hat Pirates seemed to disappear for a time.

Kahn expected to hear about their return during the infamous Enies Lobby incident. However, the next piece of news to reach him was completely unexpected.

The headline read: "The Legend Reappears After Many Years—The Golden Lion!"

The cover featured a floating island.

Kahn, being a time traveller, instantly recognized the gravity of this news. This wasn't just the return of a legend—it marked the countdown to the potential destruction of East Blue.

The Golden Lion, Shiki, who had been in hiding for over a decade, was now preparing to put his East Blue destruction plan into motion.
