Yuri finished a day of training and returned to town.
As Yuri walked through the streets, his eyes suddenly lit up as if he had seen something. Following his gaze, he saw a group of people walking down the street. This group looked fierce and evil, carrying weapons. The residents of the town avoided them in horror, whispering that these people were pirates or something similar.
However, it wasn't the fierce pirates that caught Yuri's eye, but a little girl among them whose hands were tied. The girl was only about eleven or twelve years old. Despite her worn clothes, her beauty was still evident, especially her large, attractive eyes. In the future, she would definitely grow into a stunning beauty.
Seeing the little girl, Yuri strode to the center of the street, blocking the group's way.
"Boy, who are you? Don't you want to live, daring to blocking our' way?" one pirate exclaimed.
"Do you know who we are, kid?" another added, dissatisfied with Yuri's interference.
"Hey, are you Nico Robin? My name is Yuri, Gabriel Yuri. I'm looking for a crew member to go to sea. Do you want to join my ship?" Yuri ignored the wicked pirates and smiled at the little girl.
Robin looked at Yuri, her eyes full of surprise, doubt, and a trace of expectation.
"Boy, you underestimate me? I'm Bruce Menka, a pirate with a bounty of 9 million Berries," the leading pirate growled, furious that Yuri ignored them.
"Hey, it's not your place to speak," Yuri grinned, snapping his thumb and index finger to flick a coin. A moment later, an orange light shot from Yuri's hand. Menka didn't even have time to react before he and the pirate behind him were pierced by the light. Menka's face showed disbelief as he looked at the hole in his chest.
How could this be? He was a pirate with a bounty of nine million Berries. So fast...
Menka lost consciousness and fell to the ground. "It's murder!" the residents exclaimed, fleeing in terror. The other pirates broke out in cold sweats, wondering what had just happened. Coins? But why were they so fast? The orange light flashed again, and several of Menka's crew were shot through simultaneously.
"Is this kid a monster?" one pirate muttered. "How can such a thing be possible if he's not?"
"Aren't you leaving?" Yuri said with a smile, flicking another coin. The pirates, terrified, fled in a rush. Yuri stretched out his hand, electric sparks flashing as strands of black matter flew up, forming a long, humming knife. Holding the knife, Yuri pointed the blade at Robin, who felt its sharpness and was surprised to see it was made of iron sand vibrating at high speed like an electric chainsaw. Robin believed it could easily cut through stone or steel.
At that moment, Yuri aimed at Robin and waved the knife. Robin closed her eyes, expecting to be cut. However, the pain never came. When she opened her eyes, she found that the rope binding her hands had been cut.
"What are you doing in a daze? I'm hungry. You must be hungry too. Let's have a meal first," Yuri beckoned to Robin.
"Oh, oh!" Robin was taken aback but followed.
"Hurry up. I'm not bragging but, my cooking skills are pretty good," Yuri said as he brought out a hearty meal and started eating. He had been training all day and was famished.
"Well, it's delicious!" Robin exclaimed with joy after taking a bite. Despite her hunger, she maintained an elegant posture, unlike Yuri, who ate ravenously.
After eating, Robin felt extremely sleepy. It had been a tiring day. Three years ago, her hometown Ohara was destroyed by a Buster Call launched by the World Government for studying Poneglyphs. Robin, who escaped, searched everywhere for work to survive but was repeatedly betrayed because of her identity and bounty. To avoid Marine capture, she joined a pirate crew, only to be betrayed again when they planned to exchange her for the bounty.
Robin felt a sense of relief after having her first decent meal in years and fell asleep. Seeing Robin asleep, Yuri carried her to bed, marveling at her soft and light body. Though Robin was just a little girl now, Yuri saw her potential beauty because he was a traveler.
Yuri had been in this world for five years, arriving coincidentally the year the Pirate King Roger was executed. In his previous life, Yuri was a college student who had just entered society and, feeling depressed about his unsuccessful job, drank with friends. Unexpectedly, he woke up in this world. Gabriel Yuri was the name of this body, an orphan who lived a harsh life. Yuri discovered this body had the powers of a Devil Fruit—the power of magnetism.
Not knowing if it was the same fruit as Eustass Kid's, Yuri, influenced by modern novels and animations, tried to develop his powers according to Mikoto Misaka's abilities from "A Certain Scientific Railgun." After five years, he developed most of her abilities, including electromagnetic forces, electromagnetic waves, Railguns, iron sand swords, and even the Level 5 Railgun Giant. However, limited by physical stamina, he couldn't fully use all abilities.
With the power of the magnetic fruit, Yuri had considerable strength, though his abilities consumed a lot of physical and mental energy. As a traveler, his mental power was enhanced, awakening his Observation Haki shortly after his arrival, which was more like mental perception and more useful than the average pirate's Haki.
However, his physical fitness was still lacking. He focused on training desperately, achieving certain results, though still far from the monsters of the Grand Line. Yuri believed no one in the West Blue could surpass him. Recently, he had been contemplating going to sea and finding trustworthy and capable partners first, as being a Devil Fruit user meant the sea was a dangerous place.
What Yuri didn't expect was to encounter Robin, who had been betrayed by pirates planning to exchange her for a bounty. Without hesitation, Yuri rescued her.
