Hearing Byakuya's words, a flash of panic crossed Hubert's mind. But his confidence seemed to return as he glanced at the over a hundred eager men surrounding them.
He snarled, "Hand over anything valuable you have, and I might leave your bodies intact!"
Byakuya responded calmly, "Go ahead. They've been cooking for us all night; they must be tired. Let's help them get some rest."
Lucci and Blueno became killing machines when Byakuya finished speaking, swiftly eliminating the surrounding enemies.
The tavern was filled with the sound of agonizing screams, and crimson blood blossomed like flowers before Byakuya's eyes.
Hearing the commotion, Vivi's delicate face showed a worried expression as she stood on tiptoe, trying to catch a glimpse of Byakuya amidst the crowd.
"What should we do? Hubert is already making his move." A deep sense of helplessness washed over Vivi.
She thought about the internal strife in the Alabasta Kingdom, orchestrated by Crocodile, where thousands of citizens were dying each day from war or famine.
As the princess of Alabasta, she could only watch these tragedies unfold, powerless to stop them.
And now, three innocent people were about to be brutally murdered before her eyes, and she had no way to save them.
At that moment, Vivi realized she couldn't protect anyone—not herself- as she still needed Igaram's protection.
Seeing Vivi's sadness, Igaram felt a deep pang of sorrow. Life had been cruel to Vivi, burdening her with so much pain and responsibility at the tender age of fifteen.
Vivi crouched down, leaning against the wall, burying her head in her knees as she began to sob quietly.
She no longer wanted to watch the horrors unfolding in the tavern. Igaram crouched beside her, trying to comfort her.
After all, they both assumed the outcome was inevitable—three people against a hundred would stand no chance.
But after a while, Vivi and Igaram sensed something was off. Weren't there supposed to be only three people? But the screams had echoed over a hundred times.
Could those three scream that much? Curiosity got the better of them, and they secretly peeked through the window.
What they saw horrified them. The tavern's interior was gruesome, with corpses strewn across the floor and blood flowing freely.
Every dead body had a single fatal wound in the chest as if pierced by a bullet.
The two who had done the killing were highly skilled, with each strike being lethal.
Vivi wiped her tear-stained eyes and looked again, wide-eyed. The scene inside the tavern remained unchanged.
The young man in black was calmly sitting at the counter, leisurely sipping whiskey, seemingly unfazed by the massacre around him.
Everyone in the tavern except Byakuya, Lucci, and Blueno had been killed in just a few minutes.
It was only then that Vivi realized these three didn't need her help at all. They were far more dangerous than Hubert.
Reflecting on how she had tried to warn the young man earlier, Vivi felt frustration and embarrassment.
But Igaram didn't share Vivi's mixed emotions. He was deeply concerned. Those three were ruthless, killing without mercy, clearly not good people.
Moreover, the two who had done the killing were incredibly strong, easily slaughtering Hubert's professional bounty hunters.
If they decided to turn on Vivi and him, Igaram knew he couldn't protect Princess Vivi.
At this point, Igaram grabbed Vivi's hand, intending to run as far away from them as possible.
However, they only managed to take a few steps before Lucci and Blueno blocked their path.
Igaram quickly shielded Vivi behind him, his expression tense as he said, "We were trying to help you earlier. You're not going to attack us, are you?"
Vivi suddenly realized that with their strength, they didn't need her help at all. She and Igaram had just witnessed them kill Hubert and his men.
If they wanted to keep that secret from getting out, they might turn on them next. As this thought crossed her mind, Vivi's face paled.
Just then, Byakuya's voice echoed inside the tavern, "Let them be. There's no need to harm them."
Lucci and Blueno paused, surprised. After all, these two had seen their true identities. If word got out, all their efforts at disguising themselves would be wasted.
But they didn't question Byakuya's command. Their job was to follow his orders.
Vivi looked toward the voice and saw Byakuya smiling at her. He said, "If I'm not mistaken, you must be Princess Vivi of the Alabasta Kingdom, correct?"
Hearing this, Vivi and Igaram felt a chill run down their spines. This mysterious young man knew her true identity.
Could it be that the three of them were here for her? Vivi asked coldly, "How do you know who I am?"
Byakuya continued, "Not only do I know who you are, but I also know what you're trying to do."
He added, "Considering that you warned me earlier, maybe we can make a deal."
Vivi frowned, sceptical. "What kind of deal?"
"You tell me the exact location of Pluton, and I'll take care of Crocodile for you."
Byakuya's interest in finding Pluton wasn't because he wanted to possess the ancient weapon.
Instead, he wanted to see if his system could absorb the completed Pluton battleship.
Since the blueprints of Pluton were worth 1,000 World Source Points, he figured that if he could find the actual battleship, its value could be over 10,000 points.
Regardless of whether he succeeded or not, Byakuya wanted to give it a try.
He knew that Pluton was somewhere near the Alabasta royal palace, but finding it would be a huge task and would likely attract unwanted attention.
It seemed more efficient to strike a deal with Vivi by offering to eliminate Crocodile, which was his main goal.
That way, obtaining Pluton would be like getting something valuable for free—a win-win situation.
Vivi was deeply conflicted. Though she desperately wanted to accept Byakuya's offer, her family's purpose was to guard Pluton.
Agreeing to the deal would mean going against their ancestral duty.
Seeing her hesitation, Byakuya said, "If dealing with Crocodile isn't enough, I can add another condition."
"I'll help you end the civil war in Alabasta."
Vivi looked at Byakuya in shock. "Are you serious?"
Byakuya smiled confidently, "You don't have a better option right now, do you?"
Finally, Vivi made up her mind. Determined, she said, "Alright, I agree to your terms!"
