After numerous hours of getting beaten up by Garp. The group showcased their improvement already.
"Hngh!" Tyr blocked a punch from Garp as he coated his torso with haki and tensing his muscles to the maximum.
A sharp ting resounded as Tyr's torso was harder than steel for a second.
"Hoh? You can already use tekkai huh?" Garp rained on Tyr's success as he poked him with shigan.
"Gah! Can't you let me enjoy my first successful run for a second?" Tyr kneeled down in pain.
Sandersonia used kami-e to increase her body's flexibility and wrapped around Garp. She then tensed like steel wire, using tekkai and haki.
"Hyah!" Marigold kicked the ground multiple times in an instant and she aimed her haki infused fangs at Garp.
"Hmph, you brats have impeccable teamwork." Garp was about to break free from Sandersonia.
"Eat shit, old man!" Hancock suddenly kicked him right on the temple and Garp needed to use haki so his face won't turn into stone.
Marigold's fangs then hit him right on the leg, making him wince.
"Keep the pressure! He won't get affected with just that!" Tyr shouted and they jumped him with soru.
"Buahahaha! Excellent! You brats would be great marines!" Garp stomped on the ground and the shockwave sent them all away.
"How about you deal with this!?" Garp suddenly uprooted a thick tree and coated the thing with his haki.
"What the fuck?" Tyr suddenly felt his whole body get wracked in pain as he was hit by a haki infused tree.
"That's bullshit." Hancock flew away like a baseball as Garp batted them one by one.
Groans resounded as Garp carried them back to their training ground.
"Buahahaha! You little monsters, you're already ready to go to the grand line alone!" Garp laughed in pride.
"Thanks for the confidence." Tyr deadpanned at him. Who the hell wastes their stamina for haki to infuse it in a whole ass tree?
"Now, you can learn everything else. I already showed it to you after all." Garp grinned at them.
"You're leaving?" Hancock raised a brow. They were his ticket to coming back after all.
"Of course, who do you think I am? I'm a vice-admiral. I have work to do." Garp snorted.
"Like what? Laze around and order your subordinates to do all your work?" Sandersonia rolled her eyes.
"Uhhh, no?" Garp sweated as he got read like a book.
"You just leave your work to your subordinates, don't you?" Marigold deadpanned at him.
"Gotta go! Take care of Ace for me! Make sure he doesn't die in the wild! Buahahaha!" Garp ran away.
"Tch, what does he think we are? Baby sitters?" Tyr clicked his tongue.
They've been had by Garp and now they had to look after Ace.
"Let's go to Dadan's place and look for him then, we can't leave here anyways." Hancock sighed heavily.
They travelled towards Dadan's home and they saw it more clearly.
"This place is a dump." Sandersonia winced as their little hut is more clean than their so-called house.
"You got a problem with my place?" Dadan snorted at them.
"You could use some, I don't know. General cleaning?" Tyr deadpanned at her.
"Tch, we're bandits. That's as good as it gets, brats." Dadan huffed at them.
"Well, enough of that. Where's Ace?" Marigold asked and Dadan shrugged.
"I don't know, do I look like a lost and found?" Dadan grinned at them, but they just ignored her.
"I think I hear a kid grunting, let's go." Tyr went towards the back of the house and saw Ace punching and kicking a log.
"Ace, training I see." Tyr called out to him and Ace beamed when he saw them.
"Yeah! I'm gonna be super strong too!" Ace went up to them immediately.
"Well, how's your diet then?" Tyr looked at him and Ace was a bit too lanky.
He needs to pack on weight in order to grow much stronger.
"Uhh, I eat what I can get at Dadan's kitchen?" Ace didn't know why he asked that.
"Uh huh, you have to eat a lot more than that you know?" Hancock ruffled his hair.
"I just steal all the meat I can from Dadan!" Ace grinned at them.
"Well, that can't do. We'll be needing food too. So let's go hunting." Sandersonia patted his head.
They brought Ace to the harbor and Tyr bought a pretty nice boat to bring to the sea.
"What are we going to catch? This is my first time at sea!" Ace looked around in wonder.
"Well, we're hunting for sea kings." Marigold was tying some rope to a harpoon.
"S-sea kings!?" Ace looked at them in shock. "Yeah, they're delicious and very nutritious." Hancock nodded.
"B-but how are we going to kill one?" Ace got scared as he heard his grandpa tell him not to go too far from the island. As sea kings can get to the size where it will swallow a marine's massive ship, whole.
"Duh, we beat it until it's dead." Tyr laughed and he started rowing.
Pretty soon, they were met with a serpentine sea king with blood-red eyes.
"There you are." Tyr stood at the bow of the boat and the Boa sisters immediately threw the harpoons like javelins.
"Ace, do me a solid and save any of them if they get in the water alright?" Tyr took off his shirt and dived in the water.
"Are you guys insane!?" Ace almost went overboard as the sea king thrashed around. The harpoons piercing it to the hilt.
Before they were dragged down to the waters though, Tyr suddenly appeared above the sea king's head and did an elbow drop right between its eyebrows.
"Ahhhh! We're gonna die! I can't swim!" Ace cried out as he held on for dear life.
"Sorry, lunch." Tyr infused his hand with haki and pierced through its skull with a knife hand.
The sea king suddenly stopped and it twitched from time to time before floating harmlessly in the water.
"Whew, hunting sure feels nice." Tyr looked at the sun above. Like he was just fishing.
"We'll bleed it!" The Boa sisters pulled the corpse with the ropes and they cut off its tail. Bleeding the sea king so it won't be fishy.
"W-what in the world?" Ace was sweating heavily as his knees trembled. He just had a near-death experience.
"Oh, you big baby. Tyr's younger than you and he's not freaking out." Hancock rolled her eyes.
"W-what!?" Ace looked at Tyr who was already shedding his baby fat.
He looked more like a buff kid that only ate meat and pumped iron for breakfast.
"Now, now, don't tease him too much. Come on, let's go and dismantle this on the harbour." Tyr started swimming towards the island as he quite liked it.
"You guys are crazy." Ace didn't wanna go hunting with them for a looong time.
They pulled the sea king on the shore and Tyr dropped its ugly mug on the harbour with a heavy thud.
"Whew, healthy body, healthy mind." Tyr smiled as the Boa sisters began dismantling the sea king.
A crowd quickly formed around them and they went wide eyed at the sight of a sea king in the harbour.
"W-what's that?" Makino poked the sea king and Tyr smacked it like an asian smacking bags of rice.
"This bad boy is lunch! Come on, Makino. Bring in the cooks, you guys will be eating sea king today." Tyr laughed.
'I wonder how it tastes...' Ace stared at the meat that the sisters were separating.
It looked absolutely delectable. With the fat shimmering in the sun.
"I'll start a nice pit for a fire." Tyr collected some stones and wood while they continued to take off pieces of the beast.
"Oiiii! Big bwo Tyw!" Luffy suddenly appeared as his meat detector tingled.
"Geh, Luffy." Ace winced when he saw him as Luffy always tried to cling to him. He wasn't cool enough to hang out with.
"Luffy, want some meat?" Marigold was hauling a huge ass fillet and Luffy started drooling.
"You guys awe the best!" Luffy cheered in delight.
"Why are you avoiding Luffy? He's your brother." Hancock raised a brow at Ace.
"No, he's not. I'm adopted." Ace looked to the side and Hancock sighed.
"Well, even if you are. Cherish your brother, you don't know what will happen." Hancock looked at her sisters and she's forever thankful that Tyr managed to see them accidentally.
"He'll help you through thick and thin if you build trust with him. Friends are good and all, but Luffy. He'll never go away, he's your brother and that's a fact." Hancock ruffled his hair.
"Hngh, fine. Luffy! Come here and help us sort the meat!" Ace called out to Luffy and the little boy ran to him with stars in his eyes.
"Aceeee! We'll eat lots!" Luffy jumped on him and hugged him tightly.
"Yeah, yeah! Now get off of me." Ace pried him off and he snorted at him.
"How'd ya get so much meat, Ace?" Luffy was still in awe at the amount.
"Heh, let me tell you how we caught it!" Ace started telling him a story.
The Boa sisters saw that Ace had a smidgeon of a smile on his face when Luffy listened to him intently.
"What did I miss?" Tyr appeared and he saw Ace telling Luffy how they caught the sea king.
"Just a little bit of family bonding." Hancock chuckled and they looked at the two brothers fondly.
"Come on, let's start the party!" Tyr lit up a fire and the whole village cheered.
"Tyr! I got seasoning and cooks!" Makino appeared with a group of house wives.
They began the party and Luffy was just staring at the huge fillet being roasted in the fire with drool flowing out of his mouth.
As Tyr spun it around on the spit, Luffy's eyes just followed it like it was a hypnotic object.
"Haha! This guy can't wait anymore." Tyr gave the first piece to Luffy as it landed on the table in front of him with a heavy thud.
"M-meat heaven!" Luffy began ravaging the meat like a man possessed.
"Hah, what a glutton." Ace sighed, but he chuckled at Luffy's antics.
He then started choking and Makino patted his back in worry.
"There's a lot to go around, Luffy." Makino smiled wryly and gave him a glass of milk.
Ace then sat besides Tyr who was in charge of the spit.
"Not hungry, Ace? You need a lot of meat so you can grow stronger." Tyr gestured for him to start eating.
"I have a question..." Ace fidgeted around as he looked at the fire.
"Hmm? Sure, go ahead." Tyr nodded at him and Ace took in a deep breath.
"Do you think... The child of a criminal should be persecuted for their parent's sin?" Ace looked at him in the eyes.
"Who is this? Asking for a friend?" Tyr chuckled as he knew what that meant.
"Uhhh, yeah. Asking for a friend." Ace scratched his head sheepishly.
"Isn't that obvious? It's a no. No matter what heinous crimes a father or mother does. The child does not inherit those sins." Tyr patted him on the back.
"Really? Do I... I mean, the kid isn't at fault?" Ace slipped up, but Tyr ignored that.
"Why would they? When they aren't the ones that did it? Do they want to commit the same crimes? If not, then they're innocent." Tyr shrugged.
Ace went pensive and Tyr speculated who could possibly be Ace's parents.
'Maybe I should ask Garp when he comes to pick us up.' Tyr ruffled Ace's hair.
"Why the heavy question, squirt? You're just a kid. You should be eating and playing around, doing everything you want." Tyr chuckled.
"Yeah, you're right. Big bro Tyr... Hey, wait. You're younger than me! Who are you calling squirt?" Ace raised a brow at him.
"Well, you're just a little muffin compared to me. I mean, you barely reach my chest." Tyr laughed and Ace glared at him.
"And I'm not your big bro because I'm older. I'm your big brother because I'm supposed to guide you." Tyr smacked him on the back and cut out a piece of meat for him.
"Now, let's start eating yeah?" Tyr smiled at him and Ace looked down as he began to tear up a bit.
"Yeah, big bro Tyr." Ace wiped his eyes and they began partying.
