The Sabaody Archipelago was a hive of activity, with people from all walks of life gathering in front of the massive screen to witness the battle between Whitebeard and Bullet. The air was thick with anticipation and trepidation as the islanders watched in awe at the sheer power being unleashed before their eyes. Each strike was like a force of nature, leaving destruction in its wake. The realization that such formidable individuals were pirates sent shivers down their spines. They were ordinary citizens, without the strength or means to defend themselves against such overpowering might.
As the Marines appeared on the scene, there was a collective sigh of relief among the spectators. Despite the blow to their reputation and strength during the Summit War, the Marines were still seen as the bastions of justice. The residents of Sabaody Archipelago pinned their hopes on the Marines, believing that they would defeat Whitebeard and save the world from impending doom.
"Come on, Marines! Defeat Whitebeard!" the crowd cheered.
"Look, it's Admiral Kizaru, Admiral Akainu, and Admiral Aokiji! They're the strongest fighters in the world!" someone exclaimed excitedly.
"I've heard that Admiral Akainu despises pirates more than anything. He's so powerful that he could set the entire sea ablaze with a single punch. With him on our side, victory is assured!" another person added.
"Not only Admiral Akainu, but Admiral Kizaru and Admiral Aokiji are also incredibly formidable," a third voice chimed in. "With all the Admirals and Vice Admirals on our side, Whitebeard won't stand a chance!"
Meanwhile, Shakky, a resident of Sabaody Archipelago, observed the unfolding events with a mix of curiosity and concern. "Marines are taking a huge risk," she remarked, exhaling a plume of smoke from her cigarette. "After their defeat in the Summit War, they're daring to start a war on live broadcast. Aren't they afraid of another failure?"
Rayleigh, who was seated nearby, chuckled in response. "Perhaps they have no other choice, or maybe they're certain of their victory."
"What do you think the outcome will be?" Shakky inquired, intrigued by Rayleigh's perspective.
Rayleigh smiled enigmatically. "The Summit War of Marineford showed the result, didn't it? Why would this be any different?"
Shakky nodded, acknowledging his point. The memory of the Summit War was still fresh in their minds. Despite gathering 100,000 elite soldiers, the Marines had failed to defeat Whitebeard. Now, with three Admirals and several Vice Admirals, the odds seemed even more stacked against them.
"Even if they can't defeat Whitebeard in this fight, he can still escape using the Tremor Fruit's ability," Shakky reasoned. "Attacking him now seems unwise."
Meanwhile, on Whole Cake Island, Big Mom was also watching the live broadcast. When she saw Katakuri, whom she referred to as Whitebeard's 'father,' her anger boiled over.
"Katakuri, how dare you betray me!" she roared, her voice infused with Conqueror's Haki.
The sound wave swept across the island, causing everyone to cover their ears in horror. Big Mom's expression darkened as she turned her attention to Perospero, who was trembling before her.
"I will never let the betrayer go," she vowed, her eyes glinting with malice.
Perospero's heart raced as he realized the gravity of the situation.
As the eldest son, he bore the weight of understanding Big Mom's intentions. It wasn't just about her anger towards Katakuri's betrayal; it was about how she planned to unleash it on her own children.
Realizing the potential harm to his siblings, he spoke up urgently. "Mama, I can't handle Brule right now. Keeping her alive may give Katakuri a reason to return."
Big Mom's expression froze at his words, her visible anger slowly giving way to a suppressed demeanor. It wasn't a matter of favoritism towards Katakuri; he was simply indispensable to her. As the pinnacle of the Charlotte family and her strongest offspring, Katakuri was vital for defending their territory and facing off against rival pirates in the treacherous New World.
"Mama-Mama~" Perospero interjected nervously, sensing the lingering tension.
"What do you suggest?" Big Mom's cold stare bore into her eldest son.
Perospero gulped, feeling the weight of her gaze. He knew he had to find a solution fast, or face her wrath. Pointing to the live broadcast on the big screen, he seized upon an opportunity. "The Marines are attacking Whitebeard. We could exploit the chaos to claim his territory."
Relieved to offer a plausible plan, Perospero watched as his mother's face lit up with a wicked grin. She saw beyond his proposal, envisioning a more audacious move. "Why stop at territory? Let's aid the Marines in killing Whitebeard himself!"
Perospero's expression turned pale at the unexpected turn of events. He realized it wasn't his suggestion that sparked her idea; it was the revelation of Whitebeard's influence on Katakuri that ignited her resolve.
Today, witnessing Katakuri's address to Whitebeard as 'father,' sealed her decision. The betrayal cut deeper than he had imagined.
The last hesitation in Big Mom's mind vanished completely.
"A war with Whitebeard is inevitable," she acknowledged.
The turbulent seas of the New World roared as a massive ship sailed through. At the bow stood Monkey D. Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary Army, his gaze fixed on the distant horizon.
"Are we really making a move now?" Sabo, the Chief of Staff, couldn't contain his curiosity.
With news of Whitebeard preparing to battle Bullet, Dragon had decided to set sail for the festival island. After days at sea, they were on the verge of reaching their destination.
"The Marines are already in action, broadcasting live. It's the perfect time for us to step into the world's spotlight," said Dragon, the enigmatic leader of the Worst Criminals.
"Step into the spotlight now? Wasn't our plan set for two years later?" Sabo questioned, surprised by Dragon's sudden decision.
In their original plan, the Revolutionary Army aimed to declare war on the World Government and Celestial Dragons two years later. Dragon's early move left Sabo bewildered.
"That's too late," Dragon sighed, a weighty realization on his shoulders.
The arrival of the Second Great Pirate Era changed everything, accelerating the pace of events. Dragon felt a sense of urgency, a hunch that the world war would commence earlier than expected.
The once-secretive Revolutionary Army needed to adapt to the changing times. Unable to continue hiding, Dragon saw an opportunity to reveal their existence to the world, laying the groundwork for the impending war.
"Whitebeard, you've created a problem for me," Dragon murmured.
The Revolutionary Army's chance for clandestine growth now compromised by the unfolding events. To showcase their strength in the future war, they had to keep up with the shifting currents.
"Do we have to do it now?" Sabo nervously questioned, aware of the imminent consequences.
The exposure of the Revolutionary Army would undoubtedly lead to Cipher Pol and World Government suppression. Everything would change.
"The great era has arrived early, and the tide of the era is heading straight for us. To accomplish our mission, we must go against the current. If we can't overcome it, our strength is not enough to change the world," Dragon declared, his decision firm.
Through a live broadcast, Dragon intended to declare war on the World Government, two years ahead of schedule. A war involving all the world's forces—the World War.
The seas roared, the ship sailed, and the future unfolded, a tale yet to be continued.
