Vreihya's P.O.V
I'm now embarrassed to confront and see Mino, who I knew is behind me. It appears that all I want is for the ground to open up and devour me fully. I had previously assumed that he was one of the deity's illusions.
I'm not sure what it is, but I just want to throw tantrums and hurl something as my cheeks appear to be growing quite heated. Because of what occurred, my face appear like an apple, and I feel that this space is too narrow for both of us.
I want to flee so I don't see or sense him for the time being. Please take me, my beloved Goddess. I'm embarrassed by what I was doing earlier. Only now have I felt so humiliated in my entire life.
My heart rate spiked and my legs weakened as I heard his deep breathing, which seemed to shake my entire existence because of what had transpired earlier. Please have mercy on me! I'm dying to run! I'm about to burst into tears!
I looked immediately in front of me because a door emerged unexpectedly, and when I looked slightly at Mino, there was also a door in front of him. "GOSH!" I exclaimed as he turned to face me and our gazes locked.
Goodness! Just don't look at me! I hastily covered my face and dashed to the door, which I violently opened. I ran in, still hiding my face behind my hands like a shy child.
I instantly leaned against the closed door and sat down. I had two hands on my chest and was staring up at the clear sky. I don't want to glance around as the attractive image of Mino played on my mind.
I'd rather soothe my pounding heart first. I just bowed and closed my eyes, feeling the difference in my clothes as my body became more encased.
As I looked up again, my finger reflexively landed on my bottom lip. As my finger stroked the lips Mino had just claimed, I closed my eyes. I'm not sure why I was lifted into the air, but I immediately shook my head and opened my eyes.
I lightly slapped my forehead because I was thinking and feeling incorrectly. I clinched my hands and fiercely shook my head, as if it would eliminate the impact of what had transpired earlier. I'm not sure how I'll feel because I want to be delighted, timid, and weep because my head is a jumble right now.
"That's fascinating," I said as I lifted my brows and tightened my jaw in response to the voice I heard. "It's your fault!" I yelled at the woman with the sneaky smile on her red lips that never ceased to grin sheepishly.
"Why me? Was I the one who kissed?" She made such a remark that I came to a halt and turned away. "Damn! You're getting worse!" she said to me, shaking her head. "Do you think it's funny to mock other people's sentiments and emotions?" I said, but she just blew her nails in front of her while fixing her hair.
"Come on! It's my duty! You enjoyed it, didn't you?" She chuckled, and I tightened my fist. Now I truly want to assassinate a deity. When I have the chance, I'll dunk her face in mud.
"I didn't like it at all!" I declared loudly, but she only chuckled and shook her head. We were both silent for a few seconds, but I saw a change in her demeanor right away. Why don't I seem to like what's about to happen?
"Would you like to see what's going on with him right now?" she said, and I eagerly nodded. I took note of my surroundings as she turned her back so I could follow her. This is also the place where Calix and I frequently meet.
I was little taken aback when I saw the large tree that had witnessed our friendship. The tree where we made memories and where the snow prince was hurt for the first time.
Circa sat on the grass, resting against the tree, for a while. "Come! Don't be so choosy," she remarked, earning a stern gaze from me. I sat on the grass, leaning against a tree.
I'm thankful since I'm wearing a yellow dress that makes me feel comfortable. Circa's gesture immediately dimmed the surroundings, but there is focused light on the large tree, as if it were the exact core of the place that was providing us with illumination.
The emission of a heavy and huge smoke caused my lips to immediately parted. A few seconds later, something resembling an image appeared in the smoke, and I immediately gasped and stood up as a result of what I saw. "Mino!" I yelled and was going to run towards the image when the deity grabbed my wrist.
I glared at her angrily, but she merely shook her head, as if instructing me to calm down and settle back, which I did quietly. As I watch him slowly drop beneath the deep water, I can't help but feel drawn to him.
When I realized what was going on, I instantly came to a halt. He was dressed similarly to the night I toyed with him and he fell into the river. This was the night we kissed under the river.
My cheeks burned somewhat again, which I quickly diverted from my thoughts. I could clearly see his immobile figure as he seems having no intention to swim up from the dark water with only the moonlight partially illuminating his surroundings, as if he had no intention of fighting any longer.
My eyes quickly widened as he suddenly opened his eyes, revealing their blue color once more. If I'm not mistaken, he told me that the Goddess spoke to him when he was under water.
However, Mino stated that he did not understand what the Goddess said at the moment. I seem to be more interested in watching since we might be able to comprehend what they discussed and agreed on here.
"Mino?" I was horrified when I heard the Goddess's voice as Mino remained in a haze as his eyes lit. "Just leave me alone! Let me die," Mino said, but he didn't open his mouth.
"You cannot die yet," the Goddess' gentle voice said. "For what else? Your own desires? There are many humans in the world, so why did you chose me to toy with?" he shouted angrily, as if he weren't speaking to a Goddess.
"Don't you feel special?" was a sweet question from the Goddess, whom I admired dearly for her patience. "Shall I be thankful?" Mino joked, but I heard how the Goddess gently chuckled.
"You can't die yet because-" The Goddess abruptly came to a halt, and I quickly covered my eyes as what I was viewing became bright. The light seemed to engulf the surroundings for a few seconds, and when it vanished, I saw a different vision.
I witness a man standing on a large lawn with his back facing me. He was dressed royally and appeared to be holding something in his arm. Even with his back turned, I can't dispute his grace and dominance.
The atmosphere was calm as he began to move his arms as if lullabying. After a few moments, the man I already knew turned to face me. My eyes widened when I saw what he was holding in his arm.
My hands trembled as I glanced at her petite body draped in a purple shawl, happily sleeping in Mino's arms. Even at such a young age, her beauty continues to astound me. Her lips are somewhat red, and her eyelashes are lengthy.
As Mino began to sing with his fascinating voice, I saw her skin was as white as snow. The familiar melody that I heard from him seemed to solidify me in my position even further. He's humming the tune he sang to me in the extremely chilly house in the middle of the forest. The tune really complements his lovely voice.
I'm not sure why my heart feels as if it's being tickled by what I see. Mino's eyes were brimming with delight as he glanced at the baby he was so gently singing to. What I saw caused my heart to pound once more.
Why are you this way, Mino? Why are you making my heart feel this way? Why does it seem like I'm falling every time I see this version of yourself? Why does your personality seem to leave such an indelible imprint on my heart?
I teared up even more when the baby opened her eyes. It was like cold water was poured over me because of her eyes. Her eyes were happily staring at Mino while her small hands tried to reach the face of the man who was holding her.
Her eyes... They were so exquisite that I couldn't explain why my heart was racing so fast. The one on the left is blue, while the one on the right is red. I'm trembling a lot for reasons I'm not sure of.
"I can assure you that if you want to live and be my vision, you will be able to gaze at and hold the child," the Goddess spoke again, which relaxed my system. The vision brightened again, but it was Mino who registered in it while he was still submerged.
"Who is that child?" Mino's question felt nervous. "You'll know when you agree to be my eyes and stay here," said the Goddess sweetly. But I was taken aback because this was not the deal Mino had told me about.
"If I cooperate then she will let me go and bring me back to my world". These terms are what Mino tells me that they agreed upon so he agrees and follows the Goddess but what I see and hear is different. Why does he need me to lie? Why Mino? Why!
"See how cruel this world is? Even my freedom requires constraints and torment!" he grumbled, blaming this world. "I will do anything to return home, Vreihya! Even endure you and this world!" The words he spoke to me felt like daggers. Endure? I, a noble and made many men crazy over me, will only be mocked by a mortal? He seriously underestimated me.
I was even more perplexed because that word of his resurfaced in my mind, leading me to believe that the only reason he was with me and stayed was to get home. I felt so belittled with his statement, but they agreed on something else, and it appears that my mind is confused as to why he told me something different.
"Do everything you can to keep him here, Vreihya," She said, as I look up at the Goddess's blinding radiance. "But you promised him you'd send him to his world, my Goddess," I queried, surprised, because what she promised and what she's now commanding me don't appear to be linked.
"I want you to prepare him for everything he'll know, and I'll take care of keeping my promise to him," she said quietly and authoritatively, which bewildered me even more.
My brain seemed to be unable to comprehend why what the Goddess and Mino told me contradicts what I see and hear now. Why do they have to perplex me in this way? While I assumed Mino was only acting to want me to his side so he could return home, it turns out that the real reason was quite different.
He does everything because of a baby. His endurance is for a baby he sings to and holds. A child I didn't know but who had an impact on me. His acts have been genuine from the start because the desire to return home is not the motive.
"My power is weakening since I will soon be replaced, which is why I need you to act as my eyes in this world; you will be my way of seeing everything," the Goddess declared.
For a few seconds, the surrounding remained still, as if Mino was still thinking with his eyes open. "Fine! You have a deal," Mino declared promptly. "Thank you, Mino," the Goddess answered cheerfully, which made me wonder even more.
Mino closed his eyes again a few minutes later and coughed as if fighting to breathe. Isn't this his chance to swim up and pull me? I was in that mindset and expecting him to swim up, but I quickly became concerned because this was not what he was doing.
What is going on? Why is he not swimming up? His heartbeat slowed gradually as he appeared to lose consciousness. "By the way, he's drowning in real time," Circa stated flatly, and I leapt to my feet and dashed in the direction of the image.
"Damn Mino! You can't die now! You have a lot to explain to me!" I cried as I dashed into the smoke, feeling the water embrace me in the deep river.
