I was observing her face. Yes, she's pretty, but now that I have the liberty to scan every corner of it, she isn't as pretty as my best friend, Celia Gomez.
I was too immersed in watching her so I didn't hear what she said. I was back to my own thoughts by her irritating voice, "Hey, are you even listening? Duh!"
"Sorry. What was that again?" I smirked.
"I said, we need to talk about Johann," her face was dead serious. And I felt offended.
"And why would I talk to you about my husband?" with an emphasis on the word 'husband', then added, "Johann already made it clear yesterday. I'm sure you are not dumb, right?"
Her posture changed to offense. She leaned forward and put her two hands on the table, "I'm not dumb, but at least I'm not selfish and numb."
