After thanking Helen once more Alison made her way to the studio, she could feel his questioning gaze but instead of answering his unasked question she simply said, "Come on." And continued until she paused in front of the door and transferred the cake to her left hand and opened the door with her right. 

"So if you don't mind my asking why are we eating here?" Dean asked as he set down the plates and utensils on the table.

"Because I wanted to talk to you about something," Alison sighed as she set the cake next to the plates.

"Okay then do you want to talk about it now, while we eat the cake or after?"

"After, I won't let anything ruin this beautiful cake," Alison decided.
