Chapitre 3: Chapter 2

When the two Neko sisters arrived at their school, they went their separate ways. Hazel spotted her friend Casper who immediately spotted her and waved. Hazel waved back before walking up to him. The handsome Neko Casper had every girl's attention but he didn't seem to notice any of them. Hazel had a crush on him ever since she could remember, she couldn't help herself because Casper was too good looking for his own good. He had black short wavy locks and gold eyes. He was also very tall and his build was the envy of many boys.

"Hi Casper," Hazel greeted her best friend with a smile.

"Morning Hazel," Casper replied with his own smile but it disappeared as soon as Sadie appeared. Sadie was Casper's soul mate. Every Neko found their mate at age sixteen. Casper had found Sadie on his 16th birthday only 3 months ago at school. When Hazel found out they were mates, she was devastated because she had hoped Casper was her mate.

"Hi Sadie" Hazel said before Sadie leaned up to kiss Casper's cheek. Hazel took that as her cue to be dismissed and made her way to her first class which was Hazel's favourite, it was the mates class. The mates class was all about mates, all Neko's were expected to attend it and was never missed off the school curriculum.

Hazel loved hearing about how important mates were and once found, they should be cherished for life. In return you will live a long and happy life. Though Hazel knew there were some Nekos who never found their mate and didn't live long afterwards. Hazel pitied those Nekos because their lives were taken away from not meeting their mate. Hazel hoped the same fate wouldn't come to her. She had always dreamed of finding her mate and being happy like her parents were ever since her first mates class. She longed for her mate and the time was almost upon her to meet him as her birthday was only a few days away.

"Hazel Are you paying attention?" Miss Paw asked when she noticed Hazel was staring into space.

"Yes Miss Paw," Hazel replied but then her eyes landed on a bird flying by the window and her eyes went wide with interest. It wasn't long before all the students in the class caught sight of the bird.

"What are you all staring at?" Miss Paw questioned in confusion. "Eyes to the front all of you,"

Miss Paw's words were heard by deaf ears. She looked to the window where the bird was and for a second, she was also transfixed by the bird. She shook her blonde head and snapped out of it.

"It's just a bird. Face the front now before I give you all detention tonight where you will all be expected to write an essay about why a bird was more fascinating than learning about soul mates,"

At the mention of detention, everyone's heads turned to the front quicker than light and they almost got whiplash.

"I thought so," Miss Paw said with a knowing satisfied look to have the attention back from her students. "Now, where was I?"

Miss paw got back to the book she was reading from but Hazel wasn't paying any attention. She was too busy daydreaming about the day she would meet her mate. She was too excited, she wished she was sixteen already and had found her mate but she was only 15. With her 16th birthday looming closer, Hazel grew agitated and time going by slowly wasn't helping.

Hazel was glad when school was over. She rushed out of school and waited for Snow. As soon as Snow was in sight, Hazel rushed over and grabbed her sister's hand. Snow didn't look impressed and had no chance to state that because Hazel's hold on her hand tightened as she took off running to get home.

"Watch out girls, Tigger is waiting by the door," their Mum warned when Hazel let go off Snow's hand and put the key through the door to open it. Just as their Mum had said, Tigger was there right next to the door.

"Haza," Tigger cried happily when he saw Hazel's head pop round the door while Snow tapped her foot impatiently.

"Stay back Tigger," Hazel replied as she tried to steer the door open carefully. Tigger was too eager to get to Hazel and didn't listen, he tried to get closer to his sister despite their Mum telling him no.

It took a good 10 minutes to open the door otherwise Tigger would have gotten hurt.

"Thanks a lot Tigger," Snow said sarcastically as she rushed past her siblings to get to her room. Tigger beamed thinking his sister has just praised him.

"Tigger you silly boy," Hazel scolded her kitten brother playfully as she lifted him up into her arms. "Why didn't you move when I told you to huh?"

Hazel tickled her brother's tummy and he squealed with laughter. Their Mum shook her head at their antics while Kitty looked on in confusion.

"Come on Tigger, Hazel needs to go upstairs for a bit. Why don't you help me make dinner eh?" Hazel's Mum suggested. Tigger seemed very interested to help 'ook' and leaped out of his sister's arms. "That's a good Tigger,"

While Tigger was distracted leaping onto the work surface near the cooker, Hazel made her getaway to join Snow who was in a mood already from being forced to run all the way home after a long day at school in her opinion.
