Chapitre 6: Rizz

{A/N: Leave comments or you are rizzless}

Two weeks later...

Two weeks had already flown by since Tenji instructed Yahun to ramp up the army of the Land of Ancestors. Yahun did an impressive job—he managed to boost the army's strength to 3,069 troops in just a fortnight.

You could say he's got a knack for rallying people, or maybe just brainwashing them with remarkable efficiency.

On top of that, the people from the Land of That who were harassing the Land of Ancestors' farmers got a thorough beatdown. Naturally, this made the Land of That quite peeved.

However, since their folks were at fault and they weren't really geared up for a full-blown war right now, they had to back down for the time being.

In other news, Tenji hit a major milestone and became a tier-one magic user. He managed to gather around 1,300 mana threads, well above the required 1,000 to be considered tier one.

With this amount, he could easily handle about 100 people one by one, as long as he stayed on his toes and didn't let his guard down.

And let's not forget the personal development—Tenji managed to, let's say, "rizz up" Kaguya. She's not exactly warm and fuzzy, but she's definitely less frosty than before.

She's started to open up a bit to both Tenji and Aino. Given that she barely interacts with anyone else, it seems Tenji's frequent visits and Aino's care have begun to chip away at her icy exterior.

Strange feelings are stirring for both of them, even if Kaguya remains her cool self.

...

"Why are you staring at me?" Kaguya asked, her tone a mix of cold and lazy. She was acutely aware of Tenji's gaze—or rather, her Byakugan was keeping a close eye on him.

She couldn't quite figure out why this so-called emperor spent four hours a day in her house. Wasn't he supposed to be busy with emperor stuff?

She wondered if the term "emperor" meant something entirely different in this world, or if Tenji just had a penchant for hanging around her place for no apparent reason.

But what Kaguya doesn't know is that Tenji is barely resisting the urge to dig her Byakugan out of her head like it's the last slice of pizza.

You see, he's got a bit of a mad scientist vibe going on—well, more like a twisted alchemist in this case.

He's dying to get his hands on those fancy eyes, just to see if he can copy them or, even better, give himself an upgrade.

In his past life, Tenji wasn't just greedy; he was the poster child for "finders, keepers." If he saw a cool or fun ability, he'd be like, "Yoink! Mine now!" and steal it with his demonic magic. He had zero chill.

"Because I want to…" Tenji replied, stretching out like a lazy cat that owned the place. Which, technically, he did, considering he was the emperor and all.

Kaguya just stared at him, her face as blank as a loading screen. She was starting to think humans were the weirdest species she'd ever come across, and she's seen some stuff.

{Master! Master! I think this bitch is sus.}

Out of nowhere, the system's voice popped into Tenji's head. It was a bit shocking since the system had been quieter than a ninja on vacation for days.

"Kind of…" Tenji replied in his mind, mentally shrugging. The system and he could chat like this, no need for actual words.

"I'll be going now," Tenji said as he got up, only to hear Aino call out, "Tenji-sama! But the food is almost ready!"

Aino was whipping up a meal for both Kaguya and Tenji. Honestly, Aino was the Swiss Army knife of maids in this era—she could cook, clean, take care of you, and probably juggle if you asked her to.

That's why they stuck her with Kaguya after the two ministers down with her abilities.

The higher-ups were probably like, "Eh, best we can do is give her one maid. Good luck."

"You two can eat it yourselves," Tenji said, tossing a quick glance at Aino before strutting out of the house.

Kaguya just sat there, looking like she was on a permanent ice sculpture display, still unsure how to show emotions without breaking a sweat.

She wanted to tell him he should at least try the food Aino made, but her brain hit the brakes before the words could get out.

{Master… I feel like you're not even trying to complete my mission.}

As Tenji stepped out of Kaguya's house, the system's voice piped up again, this time in his mind.

"Yeah, lol," Tenji thought back, his tone so casual it could've landed him a job as a meme consultant.

{Master!!}

Sigh "Look, floating screen, don't get your circuits in a twist. I'll complete your mission, but I'm not about to play the desperate simp just to knock someone up," Tenji thought, rolling his eyes so hard they almost did a 360.

Before the system could throw a fit, Tenji added, "System, ever heard of the 'fake hope method'?"

{Hope method?}

"It's this old trick my family used. The stronger person would mess with the weaker person's emotions—slowly isolating them, playing the hero, becoming their beacon of hope, and then, BAM! Treat them like trash, just like everyone else."

"My family would use this method until the person was so broken they couldn't live without them, ensuring they knew their place and wouldn't even dream of betraying us."

{.....}

"You get it now? If not, your gene pool might need a refund—oh wait, you don't even have one, do you?" Tenji quipped in his mind, poking fun at the system.

His sarcasm hit its mark, and the system went silent again, probably sulking in a corner of his mind.

Suddenly, Tenji spotted some messengers rolling in from the land of That. He smirked and thought, "Ah, look at that—the pawns have arrived."
