"Uff" Hinata exclaimed as she fell to the ground again.
"Are you okay!" I yelled as I knelt next to her.
In spares, Itachi defeated us without breaking a sweat, causing us to spar with each other. Naturally I held back so as to not hurt her much, I just didn't expect it to be so bad.
"I- I am sorry Aifuku-san… I can't even spar with you…" Hinata muttered downcasted, tears streaming from her eyes.
"No worries Hinata! You don't have to cry!" I exclaimed as I gave her a firm hug.
"If I understood right, you don't want to hurt others, there are other methods to fight…" I paused to see her reaction. She looked up at me with a look of curiosity as she wiped away her tears.
"R-Really?" Hinata asked, questioning my seriousness.
"Really! Aikido is a martial art that focuses on using an opponent's energy and strength against them, rather than meeting force with force.
Practitioners of Aikido aim to blend with the motion of the attacker and redirect the attacker's force, often through various throws, joint locks, and pins.
This philosophy of harmony and non-resistance is a central tenet of Aikido, distinguishing it from many other martial arts." I answered confidently.
"This martial art is often learned by the monks of the Temple in the Land of Tea. I recreated the art through some experimentation with the moves mentioned in the book. " I finished my speech and saw the hopeful eyes of Hinata look at me.
"How about I show you some, so you can decide for yourself? Itashi!" I exclaimed, afterwich I saw Itachi walk in my direction.
The first Technique I demonstrated her was Ikkyo. Ikkyo is one of the foundational techniques in Aikido, designed to control an opponent by applying pressure to their elbow and shoulder.
When performing Ikkyo, the defender, known as nage, first moves off the line of the attack, blending with the attacker's(uke's) movement.
Nage then takes control of uke's arm, using their hand to manipulate uke's elbow. By applying downward pressure on the elbow while maintaining a firm grip, nage can unbalance uke and guide them to the ground.
The technique concludes with nage pinning uke to the ground, maintaining control over their arm to prevent further resistance.
The second Technique I showed her was Nikyo. Nikyo is a wrist lock technique in Aikido that causes significant pain and forces the opponent to comply.
The nage first moves to avoid the uke's initial strike or grab, blending with their motion.
Nage then takes hold of uke's hand and applies a rotational wrist lock by twisting the wrist inward and upward.
This twist creates intense pressure and discomfort in uke's wrist and forearm.
The pain from the lock compels uke to follow nage's movement, allowing nage to guide uke to the ground or into a controlled position.
Sankyo is a control technique in Aikido that involves twisting the opponent's wrist and arm, creating pain and ensuring compliance.
The nage first moves to evade the uke's initial grab or strike, blending with their motion. Nage then takes hold of uke's hand and applies an upward twist to the wrist, rotating it outward.
This twist extends through uke's arm, causing significant discomfort and unbalancing them. Nage can maintain this control by keeping uke's arm in the twisted position, leading them into a pin or guiding them to the ground.
After I finished the demonstration I looked at Hinata only to see her with an excited and sad expression.
"What's bothering you?" I asked, my voice filled with concern as I noticed the troubled expression on her face.
"I'm not sure if I'll be able to replicate the movements you showed me…" she admitted, her voice tinged with doubt, and her eyes downcast with a trace of sadness.
"Don't worry," I said reassuringly, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "It just takes practice."
We spent the next few hours diligently working through the movements together. Hinata, who had taken a particular liking to the martial art because it focused on skill without causing harm, was especially motivated to master it.
Itachi, to avoid looking disrespectful, refrained from using his Sharingan to mimic my techniques, choosing instead to train through hard work and perseverance.
By the end of our session, Hinata had successfully grasped all the basic techniques to a commendable degree.
"The celebration is nearing its end, and the patriarchs, along with the esteemed guests, have requested your presence." Just as we were finishing up, a Hyuga servant appeared at the entrance, his voice gruff yet respectful.
We exchanged nods and made our way back to the open-air celebration area. None of the guests had left, as it would have been considered disrespectful to depart while the Daimyo was still present.
As soon as they saw me, a collective sigh of relief swept through the crowd.
"Welcome back, Aifuku-kun~" Madam Shijimi greeted warmly, as she gently lifted the now-sleeping Tora from atop my head, a presence I had conveniently 'forgotten' about.
We then proceeded toward the carriage, preparing to depart.
As we began to board, a servant came running up to us.
"Hideki-san! The patriarch has extended an invitation for you to train with Hinata again. You don't have to decide right away. Feel free to come by whenever you're ready." He said breathlessly.
I smiled sincerely, my heart lightened by the offer. "I'll definitely be back!" I called out as the carriage started to move, waving cheerfully to the servant.
'Everything is going exactly as planned…' I mused, my smile deepening as I waved goodbye.
Upon further reflection, I realized that my initial plan, claiming I had spotted someone sneaking around, was flawed.
Such a claim, if taken seriously, would undoubtedly prompt the dispatch of a search party, potentially accelerating the timeline toward a premature Fourth World War.
It became clear that the best solution was to address the issue that wasn't truly an issue.
I decided to teach Hinata, a girl who had always had hidden close-combat potential, a combat style that focused on subduing opponents with minimal harm.
This approach would not only earn me favor with the clan but also require relatively little effort on my part.
