Yasuke's rapid progress had both benefits and drawbacks.
Because Yasuke's leap in progress was entirely due to the accelerated training from the app, when he suddenly advanced from a half-step Jonin to a Jonin-level ninja using the app's effects, Yasuke, who lacked sufficient accumulation, needed a period to settle. The best way to settle was to slowly understand his own shortcomings on the battlefield, accumulating experience through life-and-death encounters.
For an ordinary ninja, this settling process might take just a few battles. However, for Yasuke, it would take dozens, if not hundreds, of encounters to complete the accumulation and settling process. This was the downside!
Despite not having life-and-death experiences or battlefield realizations during his exchanges with The Fourth Hokage, Yasuke was still rapidly accumulating experience and settling his power.
In fact, Yasuke's sparring with The Fourth Hokage was a process of accelerated training. The Fourth Hokage's personal guidance gave Yasuke yet another opportunity to leap forward, changing Yasuke's impression of his teaching abilities.
Previously, if you asked Yasuke who was the best teacher in Naruto, his answer would have been Jiraiya. Jiraiya undoubtedly taught many excellent ninjas. Beyond Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan, who founded the Akatsuki, the successes of the Fourth Hokage and the protagonist Naruto Uzumaki were testaments to Jiraiya's excellent teaching.
As for The Fourth Hokage? Yasuke used to think his teaching quality was far below Jiraiya's.
Who were The Fourth Hokage's disciples? In the original story, they were Kakashi Hatake, Obito Uchiha, and Rin Nohara.
Kakashi was a very talented ninja, trained from a young age by Sakumo Hatake, and had broken many of Konoha's records. He became a Jonin at the age of twelve, a remarkable achievement. But under The Fourth Hokage's guidance, Kakashi seemed to lack progress in the later stages.
Obito Uchiha's potential was undeniable, as shown by his rapid growth under Madara Uchiha's guidance to the point where he could confront The Fourth Hokage and trigger the Nine-Tails incident. This couldn't be due to lack of potential or talent; it pointed to issues in The Fourth Hokage's teaching.
Initially, when Yasuke became The Fourth Hokage's apprentice, he had no expectations. However, after receiving many secret techniques and gradually understanding them, Yasuke's opinion of The Fourth Hokage improved.
Now, with rapid progress under The Fourth Hokage's guidance, Yasuke realized his teaching wasn't as bad as he thought. Yasuke might have just been fortunate. If it weren't for Yasuke's ability to understand The Fourth Hokage's techniques so quickly, he might not have progressed so fast.
During their sparring sessions, The Fourth Hokage would slow down, teaching Yasuke various small techniques. Yasuke's use of techniques like the "Acceleration" technique, Wind Perception, and Wind Teleportation subtly changed.
However, using The Fourth Hokage's methods, Yasuke felt awkward and noticed an increased chakra consumption without enhanced effects. When Yasuke's chakra was depleted, The Fourth Hokage stopped and, noticing Yasuke's troubled expression, laughed.
"Yasuke, are you having trouble?" asked The Fourth Hokage.
"Yes, Sensei," Yasuke replied, nodding. "I've realized my combat experience is lacking, but that's something I can gradually improve under your guidance. My use of techniques isn't as proficient as yours, but I can also improve that with time and practice. However, the tips you gave me for using techniques seem off. It feels like they increase chakra consumption without enhancing the effects."
Yasuke's ability to control chakra was unparalleled, even compared to top-level ninjas like Tsunade and The Fourth Hokage. So when he felt something was wrong with The Fourth Hokage's methods, he voiced his doubts. Instead of getting angry, The Fourth Hokage smiled and nodded.
"You have great potential, Yasuke," said The Fourth Hokage. "You are truly suited to inherit my techniques. I'll teach you a secret technique. I hope you carry my and your other master's names with pride."
