(A note:I deleted something from yesterday's chapter.
The part of Natsu telling Hashirama that the 3rd ninja war just started as it did not fit in the cannon timeline. He's the same age as Obito, Kurenai, Asuma and Might Guy. Kakashi is 2 years younger than Natsu)

As I woke up after talking to Hashirama, I smiled thinking it was today.
The Academy entrance exam.
As I hurriedly got out of my bed, I took a shower and got ready for the exam. 3 months ago, I would have dreaded this day as it was likely the day my dreams would get killed. Now, I'm pretty confident in my abilities.
My chakra control, Taijutsu and my Kenjutsu should be enough for me to pass. We'll have to wait and see though to confirm.
My mom and dad were downstairs already waiting for me when I walked down the stairs. My mom was the first to talk. "You're finally ready. We'll walk you to the Acedemy. We just want you to know, we're proud of you no matter what", Ms. Yakamura said with a bit of sadness on her face.
I would have my doubts too if I was them. I'll surprise them when I come home after hopefully acing the exam.
They walk me over to the Acedemy, being the first ones there. They had to drop me off early as they had work in the day.
I waved my hand to my mom and dad as they walked back home. I sat down, in front of the closed gates, waiting for everyone else to come. I decided to meditate for the time being, to clear my mind and let go of the little worries I had.
I had to say, meditating with Hashirama has really done a lot for my mental state. Before meditating, I used to be so troubled, tense and awkward. Now I'm a free spirit.
It took 30 minutes but a ninja showed up at the gate. He sees me meditating and raises an eyebrow." Kid, the gates don't open for another hour.", he said as he opened the gates and walks through them.
He almost closed the gates on me, but he stopped and turned to me." Kid, come inside", he said in a commanding voice.
I stopped meditating and walked inside the academy's property. The courtyard. in front of the school was massive and the building in front of it was big too.
The teacher walked inside of the building, leaving me in the courtyard. I sat down and began meditating, wanting to waste time.
I did for 10 minutes before I heard someone knocking at the gate. I opened one of my eyes to peep at the figure.
It was an old man and what I assume to be his kid. It wasn't just any old man though. I hastily got up and jog over to gate.
I opened up the gate, not needing the ninja's, the one who let me in, permission. I opened the door and greeted the well respected man.
"Hello, Hokage-sama", I said. The 2 people in front of me were Hiruzen Saroutobi and his son, Asuma Saroutobi.
Hiruzen nodded at my greeting before walking into the building, leaving me and Asuma in the courtyard alone.
"I thought I would be the first one here. Guess you beat me to it", Asuma said, deciding to break the silence.
I side eyed him before responding."Yeah. When you're someone like me, you have to wake up earlier than everyone else to be great."
Asuma nodded at this even though he couldn't relate. Being the son of the Hokage must be a blast. You have a big house, best trainers, and the best resources. I didn't even have a katana even though I was skilled in Kenjutsu.
We sat in comfortable silence as all the other kids came. I recognize some of the kids like Kurenai and Might Guy. Kakashi also came even though he was 2 years younger than us. He was a genius but I'm still confident in my abilities.
As the courtyard filled up with the potential new students, we stood in front of a podium where the Hokage, Hiruzen Saroutobi stood.
"My dear potential ninjas," Sarutobi began, his voice strong and steady, "today you stand at the threshold of a great adventure. You have all worked hard to get to this point, and now it's the time for you to put your skills to the test.
He then talked about the contents of the exam." First, you will have to take a written exam. It's a test about ninja history and it's very long", Saroutobi said as he chuckled a little bit."Second, there will be some sparring. You can pick your opponent and if you don't want to, it will be assigned your opponent".
As the speech ended, a loud knocking noise can be heard from the gate. I looked and saw who was there.
It was a little boy black eyes and short, spiky, black hair. He wore a long sleeved blue uniform and a blue jacket. The jacket was fastened to the rest of the outfit by two buttons on the collar and had the Uchiha clan crest at the back.
It was the boy who would start the 4th Great Ninja War, Obito Uchiha.
The kids in the crowd murmured about this development.
"Is this guy really late".
"That's so embarrassing".
"It's hard to believe he's from the Uchiha Clan."
One worker at the academy let Obito in. He looked down at the ground in shame as the students walked into the Academy, ready to take the written exam.
__________
The exam was hard, I mean hard. It's all good though as Hashirama also helped me study during these 3 months.
After completing the written exam, I went outside and to the sparring area where all the students who finished the exam were.
After getting there, I could see kids who finished the exam too. There was Kakashi, Asuma and Kurenai. I guess Obito and Might Guy weren't here yet.
Who did I want to spar with? Kakashi would be the obvious chance to show my skills. Kurenai wouldn't be that much of a challenge. She probably hasn't gotten that good in Genjutsu.
My eyes landed on Asuma. How would it be for a civilian kid to beat the 3rd Hokage's son. Asuma was more than guaranteed to get in, just by who his father is. They would be forced to accept the person who defeated him, right?
My mind was decided. I walked over to Hiruzen's son and tapped him on the shoulder. Asuma turned around abruptly before seeing the boy who he had saw this morning.
"How about you and I spar".
____________
The first spar was about to begin. It was between the 3rd Hokage's son, Asuma Saroutobi and the seemingly ordinary civilian kid, I, Natsu Yakamura.
The 3rd Hokage watched from the podium, silently rooting for his kid to win. A worker at the academy separated us from to two sides of the sparring field.
A crowd circled around us, wanting to witness the first fight. Mummers were heard around the sparring ground from the kids.
"The first fight is about to start guys! Who do you got"
"It's obviously Asuma. He's the 3rd Hokage's son after all"
'Yeah, your probably right"
All these things just made me more hyped. A teacher walked over to us and offered us some wooden weapons in order for them to display the skills if they have them. I happily took a wooden katana while Asuma took some wooden brass knuckles.
I fashioned the wooden hilt and katana on my pants and put my hands up. I was going to display all my skills in order to get.
I got into my "Rooted Stance", firmly planting my feet. The worker raised his hands before swinging them down.
"Begin"!
Asuma rushed over to me with his wooden brass knuckles in hand, with the intent of winning. He swung the first move. I expertly deflect it before hitting with a two handed strike.
Hashirama stared at the battle as it raged it on with interest.

(Hiruzen's Pov)
I watched the battle, following it with my eyes with interest. The way the civilian kid was fighting, deflecting, blocking and dodging my son's attacks and delivering such simpler counter attacks, it reminded me of one of my late senseis.
It reminded me of the former God Of Shinobi, Hashirama Senju.
How could such a civilian kid fight in such a dignified way? He looked disciplined, as if he was work to the bone.
As he knocked my kid back for the 4th time, he pulled the wooden katana from the wooden hilt. I eyed him further, wanting to know how skilled this kid was.
__________
(Natsu's Pov)
As I pulled out the wooden katana, I eyed Asuma before going to the offensive.
I rushed over to the kid, clashing the katana with the brass knuckles, making a symphony of wood. I wanted to end this battle quickly. I wanted to do something though.
In a second, I distributed my chakra around me and my sword, upping my speed and the sword's power.
In an instant, I moved so fast, Asuma didn't have time to react. I cut the brass knuckle off of his arms, rendering his main weapon useless. To cut the knuckles off without cutting his skin, it was a feat of precision, speed and control.
I held the katana to Asuma's throat, giving him one thing to do.
"I yield", Asuma said, sorrowful that he lost. Silence brushed around the courtyard, no one expecting this development. Saroutobi was silent, with a thoughtful look. All the kids looked quiet, Kakashi was already quiet though.
The teacher announced my victory and I left the courtyard, knowing I'll get the decision in a week. I smiled as I walked out, not caring to see the rest of the battles.
I had changed the narrative.
