LET THE CHAPTER BEGIN

Aki's eyes fluttered open in darkness.
He felt groggy, his head pounding from whatever had knocked him out. He tried to move but his limbs felt heavy. Too heavy. He immediately realized something was wrong.
His arms weren't just heavy, they were bound. Cold metal cuffs secured his wrists firmly to the chair. He also could not move his head as his neck was similarly bound by a metal collar.
He shifted his legs, finding them similarly clamped down to the legs of the chair. Not only that he was cuffed near every joint on the body, making movement impossible.
The restraints hummed faintly with an eerie chakra-suppressing energy. Aki activated his Byakugan as if on instinct, but the chakra flow within him was sluggish, dulled. The suppression wasn't from tags—these restraints were doing the job instead.
'Metal cuffs imbued with chakra suppression… they didn't take any chances.'
Just as Aki was feeling frustrated and helpless, a single flickering light buzzed to life overhead, casting a sickly, pale glow over him and a small radius around.
The door behind him creaked softly, breaking the oppressive silence. Aki straightened in his seat, his senses sharpening.
'Someone's here.'
The figure approached from behind, stepping into the dim light. Aki couldn't see them at first, but the heavy, oppressive presence told him all he needed to know.
"You're awake," a cold, measured voice spoke from the shadows.
Aki didn't answer. His eyes narrowed, taking in every detail of the room. He was looking for anything, any possible weakness in the restraints or the environment he could exploit.
The figure finally came into the view, the unmistakable old man with a bandaged arm and a face.
'Danzo'
"Don't bother struggling," Danzo said, his voice dripping with authority. "Those restraints are designed specifically for... problematic shinobi."
"RELEASE ME" Aki shouted as soon as he saw him. He was just a ten-year-old, and the attitude perfectly suited his age.
Danzo completely ignored him and waved his hand. Following his order a group of The ROOT ANBU entered the room.
"Take his eyes" Danzo ordered flatly.
One of the ANBU with a deer mask came forward and dug his fingers into Aki's eye sockets and dug his eyes out.
Aki felt like the world was ending with how much pain he felt, while his eyes were gouged out.
"Here, Danzo-sama" The ANBU presented those eyes to Danzo, who took out a box and put them in. However, from the reports he received about the incident four years ago,
The first incident was when Leaf had successfully stolen Aki's eyes. The two Hyuga clan members had claimed that the eyes lost their dojutsu before they were executed on the spot by Hiashi.
Danzo, with the freshly extracted eyes now secured in a small box, signaled to one of the ANBU guards.
"Begin," he commanded, his voice low and emotionless.
The masked ANBU agent stepped forward, looming over Aki, who was still tightly bound to the chair. Despite the pain of losing his eyes, Aki kept his face steady, refusing to show any weakness.
"Tell us about the seal," the ANBU demanded in a cold, calculated tone. "How does it work? The Hyuga clan's records make no mention of it."
"Is it something new Kumo's Fuinjutsu masters have come up with?"
Aki's breathing was ragged, the agony from his missing eyes gnawing at him. Still, he held his ground. "I don't know what you're talking about," he rasped. His voice was strained but resolute. "There is no seal."
The ANBU member's patience seemed to be wearing thin. He leaned closer, his tone sharpening. "The eyes. We know you're able to regenerate them. This isn't the first time your Byakugan was taken—yet it always comes back. How?"
Aki shook his head, even though his vision was completely gone. "I don't know!" he insisted. "There is no seal. No secret jutsu. I have no idea why they come back."
The ANBU stood silently, evaluating the truth in Aki's words. Danzo, observing from a distance, crossed his arms, his calculating gaze never leaving the boy. He had heard similar denials before. Aki wasn't known for lying, but Danzo wasn't one to take chances.
"The last two shinobi who took your eyes died shortly after," Danzo said, his voice cold as ice. "Their mission was deemed a failure, but they reported the same before we... silenced them."
Aki's heart pounded in his chest. He knew about those shinobi. How could he forget? They not only ambushed and took his eyes but also killed Morio.
"I swear," Aki said, gritting his teeth. "I don't know anything about a seal."
Danzo observed Aki for a long, uncomfortable moment. Then he sighed, looking down at the box in his hand. "No matter. Even if you don't tell us, we'll learn soon enough."
He turned toward the door. "Keep him here until we figure out the mechanism. I want to know everything about this boy's secrets."
Suddenly, a faint, almost imperceptible sound caught everyone's attention. The box in Danzo's hand began to vibrate softly. He opened it, his eyes narrowing in suspicion.
Inside, the eyes—Aki's Byakugan—had begun to change. They were crumbling. Flakes of dust started peeling away, falling apart until all that remained was ash.
Danzo's expression darkened. The ANBU members exchanged uneasy glances, unsure of what had just happened.
"What—?" one of them muttered.
Then, Aki gasped.
In that instant, his vision returned, the familiar flow of chakra rushing back into his body. His Byakugan was back. He blinked rapidly, feeling the unmistakable sensation of his regenerated eyes.
One of the ANBU noticed immediately. "Danzo-sama… his eyes... they're back."
Danzo slowly turned to face Aki. His eyes narrowed in cold suspicion, but there was a flicker of curiosity deep within. This was no ordinary technique.
"Interesting," Danzo said quietly. "It seems you really don't know."
"Take them out again." He ordered again determined to find out why and where the seal was hidden. "Read his memories, Kumo might have sealed those memories."
Deer ANBU followed those orders and took off his mask, only to reveal a Hyuga hidden beneath. "Byakugan" activating his dojutsu he looked at now hollow-eyed Aki.
But just as the Hyuga tried to penetrate Aki's mind, something shifted.
Aki's eyelids snapped open, though his eyes were still missing. His hollow gaze fixed on the Hyuga, the void within him darker than the dim room. His lips moved, but the words that escaped were not his own.
"Information theft detected. Offense level critical. Activating extreme measures. Initiating Nativity of the God Tree."
The words were cold, mechanical, and inhuman, as though some ancient force had taken over Aki's body. Before anyone could react, the floor trembled violently.
Dark, gnarled roots erupted from the cracked tiles, snaking across the room with terrifying speed.
The ANBU barely had time to draw their weapons before the roots coiled around them, tightening like iron shackles.
Panic flickered in the eyes of the Hyuga as the roots constricted his limbs, draining his chakra through his very skin.
Danzo remained calm, though his brow furrowed slightly as the roots began to wind around him too. His hands twitched, instinctively channeling chakra to break free, but the roots absorbed it, growing thicker with every pulse of energy they consumed.
"Nativity of the God Tree initiated. Unauthorized access to personal abilities neutralized," Aki's voice repeated, though it was devoid of emotion, as though spoken by a machine.
The Hyuga ANBU struggled, his Byakugan flaring again as he tried to sever the roots with chakra.
But the more he resisted, the more his strength was drained. His body jerked violently, and with a final, strangled gasp, his Byakugan deactivated. He collapsed, utterly spent, his chakra completely consumed by the roots.
Danzo gritted his teeth, his sharp mind assessing the situation. The roots were not just suppressing chakra—they were absorbing it, feeding off their energy. He had never encountered anything quite like this.
For first time in years, Danzo felt fear until he could feel no more. God-Tree roots had absorbed everything. Danzo and the ROOT ANBU all turned to dust after being absorbed.
Everything happened in the blink of an eye. The rest of the Leaf ANBU hadn't even arrived in the vicinity by the time the chaos had ended.
They had only felt there was some sort of disturbance in the outskirts but before anyone could reach the place, the feeling receded as if it didn't exist at all.
As the roots continued to pulse with chakra, Aki's body was encased in a protective cocoon formed from the same gnarled roots that had annihilated Danzo and his men.
The roots pulsed once more before, one by one, they began to retract. Each dark tendril absorbed back into Aki's skin, leaving only a single root coiled around his unconscious form.
"Activating max-regen until consciousness returns. Deactivating Anti-Theft."
The last root gently lifted Aki from the ground, wrapping around him like a serpent coiled around its prey. Then, with terrifying speed and precision, it hurled the cocoon high into the air, launching him far from the scene.
The motion was so swift and controlled that not even the sensor ninja stationed throughout the village noticed the disturbance. Aki was flung far from the scene, his body propelled beyond their detection range.
Darui unaware of Aki's ridiculous escape was still on his way to the leaf village carrying Ay's warning.
