'Huh, have I survived?' I thought to myself, as I felt constricted. Trying to open my eyes resulted in failure, which kept me in darkness.

'Okay, let's backtrack for a second and get a firm grip of what's happening.' I calmed down with that thought before panic could appear. 'As the researcher in the Farsia empire, I had a glorious future ahead of myself. ...yea right, that would be a thing if I followed like the rest of the sheep into biological research. Unfortunately, being a researcher that focuses on mechanics, is not looked upon favourably in a nation where any robotics are looked down upon. Improving organic body is THE peak.' I inwardly sneered.

'I wonder how much more would they hate me if they knew that I was working on creating Artificial Intelligence. They'd probably nail me to a cross on the spot... wait, I'm going off the topic. Anyway, I was the 2nd highest-ranked researcher in my division... great right? Well, the said division was a 2 man-sized division, that existed solely to keep an eye on me.'

'Not like it stopped me.' I thought amusedly.

'My "boss" was there only to control my research and actions, so I'd never go too far. Because of my expertise and pressure as a professional just as in my social life, my life was quite stifling. Under those conditions, I might have gone a tiny winy little bit rouge in my research.'

'Who would've thought that working on a new and strong power source for my inventions in a garage that held a portion of the apparatus with duct tape and under stress might result in a "tiny" explosion? By "tiny" I mean that the whole street should vanish from the district.'

'Oh well, it's not like I had fond memories of people in that neighbourhood anyway.' I shrugged mentally.

'I went off topic again.' *sigh* 'As previously mentioned, the "boom" that came as an effect of the particle accelerator should mean that my chances of survival were pretty much zero. ...and yet here I am, stuck, constricted in darkness.' I paused. 'Is this an afterlife? Limbo? Am I stuck here forever? I doubt the authorities found even a single of my body cells left, so no chance of them keeping me alive, despite all their pride in genetics.'

'...I just wanted to be recognized for my efforts and success, not looked down with prejudice for my every action... I hope I won't see darkness for the rest of my existence.' My thought flashed before I lost consciousness.

--(Sometime later)--

'...I think I'm in a woman's body. A baby. A newborn, well, soon to be one. A dead giveaway were noises and reactions whenever I moved or touched the "walls" that constricted me. When I realised that I quickly decided that kicking a "wall" down is not a wise choice of action.'

'I have a 2nd chance at being recognized.' I then quickly realised. 'This time I will achieve it!'

'Life in a woman's belly is a weird experience. My consciousness is a fickle thing, as it's short and I quickly fall asleep. Maybe it's a good thing, this way the time passes faster and I have a chance of NOT going insane by seeing darkness and doing nothing. My ideas of "swimming" in here or any action were quickly thrown out of the window. I didn't feel like strangling myself with an umbilical cord or endangering my "environment", just because I died by...' *cough* 'let's forget how, but it doesn't mean I'm feeling suicidal!' I felt heat in my cheeks.

'ANYWAYS, this means that I'm gonna have a family, huh.' I calmed down and my embarrassment turned quickly into sombreness at the thought of family in my previous life.

'My previous familial life was happy but short. It's never long enough.' I thought with a bittersweet feeling. When my mother was pregnant with me she was already past her peak, alongside my father. They always gave me warmth and supported me, despite our poverty and that mechanical fascination of mine. I tried all I could to help their difficulty to provide, with me repairing some equipment and creating some small things.'

'Unfortunately, in sickness, they left me when I was 15 years old. I will always be grateful to them. The rest of the society wasn't as nice, but I only felt it more when my close ones were gone. My brain was the only thing that allowed me to survive, and the rest is history.'

I wasn't sure if with my memory of my previous life I'm gonna be able to show genuine love to my new parents. 'Maybe they'll grow on me.' I half smiled.

Suddenly I felt contractions and a force pulling me outwards.

'It seems my free real estate lease has run out. The light (explosion) pulled me into darkness (womb), and now the light is guiding me out of the darkness, what a repetitive cycle.' I mused myself. 'It's time to grasp my second chance and I'm not planning on letting it go.'

--(3rd POV change)--

In a hidden village there was a hospital made of stucco, and inside of it people of all sorts - injured or healthy - were present, whether for operations, check-ups or visitations of patients.

Outside of the operating room in a hospital, a man was pacing nervously in front of the door. His hair colour was dark blond, with neck-length hair. His eyes were blue with small blue dots beneath them, with a headband present on his forehead. Its symbol was that of an hourglass with a rectangle on top. He didn't have a rough outlook, no, he had a fresh face. He was dressed in a light brown cloak with a beige sash. His pants and boots were black.

"Otsuka!" Suddenly he heard a voice calling out to him from behind. Before he could turn a rough arm grasped him by the shoulder. When he turned he saw a rough-faced and well-built green-haired man, his teal eyes were full of youthful energy.

"Matsuura." Said Otsuka Shou with a nervous smile on his face. "Thank you for coming."

"Nonsense!" Replied grinning at Matsuura, as he slapped Otsuka's back at which Otsuka grimaced. He continued. "This is the least I can do, give you some moral support and be here!"

"I hope everything will go without complications." Muttered Otsuka under his breath, which apparently Matsuura heard as he slammed his hand on Otsuka's back and said "Everything will be great, you need to show more spine as a man!" while laughing.

Suddenly a cold voice aimed at Matsuura sounded: "Matsuura, be quiet. We are at a hospital, so lower your voice."

The owner of the voice was an orange-haired lady. Her hair was smooth, straight and shoulder length. Her usually full of warm orange eyes this time eerily stared at her husband, in which he saw in no terms that she accepted no arguments. Over her clothes, one could see a little bump in the area of her stomach.

Matsuura quickly deflated and spouted apologizes to his wife, after which he muttered "Pregnant women are scary..." After which he quickly realised his mistake as he felt a burning gaze on the back of his head.

As he heard an angelic voice which at the same time somehow sounded like the voice of the grim reaper called him, he slowly turned his head, like a rusty machine. Instead of her eyes he only saw their slits and in a colder voice than the glaciers in the Land of Snow said: "We will talk about it later."

Matsuura's eyes snapped to Otsuka seeking help, at which Otsuka did a praying pose towards the sky for the poor sinner's soul. 'I'm not walking into that trap, when a shinobi sees one, he shouldn't head towards suicide.' After which he giggled, being grateful to Matsuura for lowering the tension which was built up in him.

"Otsuka," said an orange-haired woman in a now normal tone "for how long has she been in there?" while gesturing towards the operating room.

"Koizumi has been there for the last 5 hours, Sugawara." said Otsuka

Suddenly they heard a child's crying inside a room, and after a while, the nurse opened a door from the inside and allowed the father and a friend's couple inside the room.

On a bed laid a dull blonde-haired woman, arranged in two tails at the back of her hair and a bang on each side. She was hugging a child with light-coloured hair and green eye. Otsuka approached her with a speed that could make one think that he used a Flying Thunder God technique.

She nodded and allowed him to hold the child while saying that it was a boy.

Sugawara asked the now mother: "Koizumi, have you decided on a name?" After which Koizumi replied: "Yes, his name will be Teruya, Teruya Shou.

"To fly, to soar, huh?" said Matsuura "It's a great name."

My first ever chapter in the first ever written novel huh.

Feel free to give your oppinnions and ideas for the future.

There's no schedule set for this, I do not know how far the motivation will take me. I honestly wished someone else, more capable would write my idea, but here we are.

I wrote this out of boredom waiting for release of some other fanfics. Take care lads.
