Chapitre 34: Chapter 34: Escape or Fight?

Forest of Death
Orochimaru, Sasuke and Hinata stared at Naruto's figures who covered the entire forest.
Orochimaru's amusement increased even more as he saw this while Sasuke and Hinata were just a bit relieved, they will never say it to the block head though.
'Minato and Kushina's legacy huh, the Uzumaki lives up to his name of having monstrous amount of chakra.'
Orochimaru smiled as he crossed his arms, when he stretched them out sidewards, numerous number of snakes came out.
This didn't bother Naruto's clone as they all launched themselves at Orochimaru dispelling while the real one already regrouped with Sasuke and Hinata.
"So, how do we take him down?" He asked but none answered with affirmation.
"Well? Don't tell me you guys can't come up with a plan now? What's going on?" Naruto wanted to say they were chickening out but as he saw their serious faces he stopped himself and asked seriously.
"Naruto-kun, he's stronger than all 3 of us combined. We might die even if we come up with a plan to defeat him." Hinata reasoned.
"Then come up with a plan where all of us can escape."
"For once, you're saying something that makes sense dobe."
"I have no time to argue with you. According to the knowledge I am getting from my clones, we're outclassed by his speed and taijutsu alone. I don't know where he's summoning those snakes but it doesn't seem to be running out soon. Hopefully he the doesn't summon another giant Snake like what attacked me earlier."
Sasuke and Hinata looked at each other and understood one thing according to Naruto's information.
One or two of them needs to stay while the other one escapes, however, it was clearly taught to them on the very first day how abandoning your comrades was not something their sensei approves.
"We don't have a choice huh." Sasuke said as he slowly got up and checks what he currently have on his ninja bag.
"I don't want to hear sensei's nagging of leaving you both here." Hinata smirked.
"What do you two mean? Didn't you say we can't win? Why not escape?"
"Why don't you turn around Naruto." Sasuke suggested.
Naruto did and what he saw was Orochimaru alone just standing there seemingly waiting for them.
As if telling them he can kill them anytime no matter how much clone Naruto produces. And he can reach them no matter how fast they run.
Orochimaru was smirking as he saw the trio's troubled faces.
"Well? Finally giving up running?"
Instead of being angered more or flustered. He saw one expression on their faces.
Determination.
They know they might die but they are determined to face it and not being scared if that really was the outcome.
He saw the blonde once again make that same hand sign and in a puff of smoke, another hundreds of him along with the Uchiha and Hyuga kid fill his surroundings.
Orochimaru smirked.
"You may be brats but I can't deny how I'm going to enjoy this."
The shadow clones charged at Orochimaru who's body moved too fast for any of them to keep up with dispelling a great number of them as he came to the center most of everyone.
Once there he brought out another numerous number of snakes that stroked in all directions dispelling every clone in one attack.
Leaving the original who were by the side where Orochimaru saw them talking to each other.
"Done with your team planning?"
The trio nodded at each other as if coming to an agreement and looked at Orochimaru.
Hinata activated his Byakugan and assumed his clans Taijutsu stance.
Naruto focused as well as Sasuke who both riled their chakra preparing for the fight of their lives.
Orochimaru rushed to them!
And they answered with their own body flicker which was taught to them by their sensei.
In the middle of the battlefield two child fist were blocked by an adult hand and knee while another child's strike with her middle and index finger was held by the wrist.
Orochimaru twist himself around bringing two of them down while the remaining one who's fist was blocked by his knee countered with a clone while another clone and the original were making a jutsu.
A glowing blue ball that appeared on Naruto's hands as his clone manipulated the chakra to form it.
'Minato's jutsu.' Orochimaru thought surprised just a bit.
"Take this, Rasengan!" Naruto charged the rasengan towards Orochimaru had no trouble dodging it.
"What?! Ugh-" Naruto grunted in pain as a blade pierced his shoulder.
"Ahhh-"
"Naruto!!2x"
Sasuke and Hinata who saw this shouted his name and rushed to help.
But Orochimaru didn't give them time and immediately kicked Naruto away.
Seeing Naruto's figure flying away with blood leaking out sent emotions to both his teammates heart.
Yet it was Sasuke who felt it more as his eyes turned Red and two tomoe pattern circled around a string.
He awakened his sharingan!
"Hinata, take care of Naruto."
"But -"
"Go, I'll kill him myself."
"Sasuke-kun, wait-"
Hinata was unable to say more as Sasuke flickered to where Orochimaru was. Hinata wants to join him but Naruto needs help so she chose to help Naruto first then join him afterwards.
Hoping that Sasuke doesn't kill himself before she can apply first aid to Naruto and check on his status.
Looking at Sasuke's eyes, Orochimaru's goal on meeting him is almost half done, all that's left is to plant his curse mark so Sasuke would seek him out for more power.
As soon as he arrives Sasuke prepares to attack.
"You'll pay for that."
Orochimaru chuckled at that.
"Show me the power of those eyes."
Sasuke took out shurikens and kunais with both hands and throw them towards his enemy.
The snake easily dodged but Sasuke wasn't done as he throw another batch which turned the direction of the first batch around as metal strings were now visible to the naked eye which Sasuke pulled.
Orochimaru found himself trapped and ensnared with said strings. Yet his facial expressions showed joy instead of panic.
'this is the Uchiha clans shuriken-jutsu.'
Sasuke biting the strings that captured Orochimaru weaved hand seals and breath fire that followed the strings attacking Orochimaru.
Orochimaru's body was burned and he screamed in pain.
Seeing this, Sasuke let his guard down.
Orochimaru seized the moment and the flames extinguished as his neck elongated while his head bit Sasuke near his neck at the back.
"Arrrggghhhh!!"
Sasuke screamed in pain just in time for Naruto who has a bandaged shoulder and Hinata to arrive.
"Sasuke!!!"2x
Both shouted and charged as Naruto thrown kunais towards Orochimaru's head that settled back dodging his attacks.
"What did you do to him?!" Naruto asked as Hinata assisted Sasuke's unconscious body.
"I gave him a gift. Soon he will seek me out for more, power."
"Bastard! You'll pay for that!" Naruto shouted as his eyes turned oranged and his irises turned slit.
In a blink of an eye Naruto flickered towards Orochimaru's location intending to kick him.
Orochimaru marvelled at his speed which almost caught up to him. He simply blocked the kick with his hand, which he immediately regretted since he didn't anticipate the strength behind it.
He was then sent flying backwards.
"You children amuses me to no end, however, I have achieved what I came for." Orochimaru opened his right hand which chakra focused on his fingers.
Naruto charged at him once more but was caught by snakes that wrapped around his hands and feet, lifting him up.
Orochimaru simply lifted his clothes and saw the seal of the Kyuubi.
"Five Pronged Seal!"
Orochimaru plunged his hands on Naruto's stomach making him lose consciousness.
He then throw Naruto towards where Sasuke and Hinata were.
Hinata now on guard looked at him with vigilance.
But Orochimaru was done with them so he simply left and disappeared in front of her.
Hinata heaved a sigh of relief and took care of his teammates. She hid them both away where she can focus on treating some of their wounds.

A few days later
The 2nd round of the exam was done. A lot of teams made it following the original course of events where a prelim 1-on-1 fight ensued.
Some gave up while some continue to participate.
Naruto and Sasuke both already woke up. Their sensei was already with them and sealed the curse mark of Sasuke so it doesn't hinder him when he fight.
Sasuke easily won the first round where he used Taijutsu only to defeat the enemy while Naruto beat Kiba without using his fart.
Showcasing his sensei's dedication to training their basics, from taijutsu, chakra control, battle instincts and planning.
Hinata's battle with Neiji was something none anticipated to have such result.
Not even Hiashi who was watching from afar.
When they came to the arena, Neiji immediately said.
"You should give up Hinata-sama. I am stronger than you."
"I'm sorry brother Neiji. But sensei taught me not to easily give up. Even if I have to face you, I will prove my strength!"
"That kid? He's just a newly appointed Jonin, he doesn't deserve to teach the heiress of the Hyuga clan. I will prove that by defeating and waking you up from your delusions fed by him!"
Neiji prepares himself as soon as he finished speaking since Hinata's figure suddenly came at him using body flicker.
'she's fast!' Neiji blocked Hinata's palm strike with his own.
But that wasn't the end as both of them activated the Byakugan at the same time.
"Don't say that about him."
"Hmp, he doesn't deserve my attention, why would I talk about him. I'm simply opening your eyes at how he's unworthy."
"Enough!" Hinata stroked again.
Each palm strike was blocked by Neiji while Hinata continuously sent a barage of strikes to Neiji.
At first it was simply a barrage of palm strikes from someone angry, emotions filling her head.
But then flashes of her sensei blocking her strikes fills her vision as Neiji turns to Osamu.
Her earlier anger replaced by a focused disposition which she and her teammates developed unconsciously while facing Osamu.
Neiji was surprised as Hinata's strike became uniformed. It was not a strike based on emotions but palm strikes with focused intention.
Hinata was so used with Osamu having caught, avoided and parry each and everyone of her strikes she forgot it wasn't Osamu anymore.
The result?
Neiji was getting pushed back, slowly.
Sweat ran through Neiji's face as he did his best to confront his cousin.
"Enough!" Neiji parried Hinata's strike so strong it gave him enough time to retaliate.
"My turn!"
Before Hinata became Osamu's student, Neiji was a regular sparring partner. And it was clear, Neiji was stronger.
After she became Osamu's student however, she barely have enough time and energy to spar with Neiji anymore.
When Neiji attacks, it doesn't take long before Hinata loses focus and lose against him.
Yet now, Neiji has been attacking her with even greater vigor than their usual spar and Hinata was actually able to receive or deflect his attacks.
Having enough of it, Neiji riled his chakra to attack with a clan jutsu.
"Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm!"
An invisible force rushed out from his palms charging towards Hinata who was unfazed and defended herself.
"Hakkeshou Kaiten!"
Hinata spun around and a chakra rotated around her saving her from the jutsu Neiji unleashed.
Hiashi stood from his sitting position while hidden as he saw his daughter perform their clan jutsu which she's never done or shown to him before.
He smiled thinking it was not a mistake pushing for his daughter to be under that boy's team. Not only is she maturing in mindset but also in strength.
While he was happy and all for his daughter, the same could not be said for Neiji who was wearing as surprised expression.
"Since when?" He asked.
Hinata breathed out and answered.
"Just now."
Her expression still serious and ready for more as she assumed the stance of their clan while facing Neiji.
"Fine, no more holding back."
His answer resolute as he charged towards Hinata whom he was tasked by the Clan to protect.
In his hubris, he didn't anticipate Hinata charging as well palm first.
Their palms met and cancelled each other.
Though it appears that way but Hinata fell short, she was trained to masked her pain while in battle to avoid giving her enemies an opening.
So, gritting her teeth with his mouth closed, she confronted her cousin trying to prove that her sensei was not useless.
That she became strong because of him. Even Naruto and Sasuke became stronger while protecting each other from Orochimaru.
While she did nothing to help them. Her team mates might disagree pointing out how she healed them but it wasn't even a full healing from her and simply first aid.
Hinata was frustrated.
"Ahhhhh!"
Shouting her frustration as she met every palm strike of her cousin, she masked the pain of her hands.
Then, just like an answer to her frustration, a voice so familiar asked.
"Is that the only thing I thought you, Hinata?"
