Chapitre 3: Scaredy Snake
After clearing up the blood stains from the Haruno family, Fang Yuan started improving his chakra control as he couldn't improve his chakra pool within the village because he would get detected. Fang Yuan's chakra using gu imitating familiar body technique could change his amount of chakra as well but when he uses the hidden chakra, he would naturally still be sensed. After Fang Yuan worked a little bit on his already perfect chakra control, he went to his first sleep.
The next day came and he went to the chunin exam hall with Naruto and Sasuke. Normally, Sakura would cling to Sasuke but Fang Yuan did no such thing. He found no benefits in actually acting as Sakura as he would leave this disguise as soon as the exams end. Naruto and Sasuke thought she was just nervous about the exam. There was one existence which Fang Yuan took interest in though. Gaara, the jinchuriki of the One-Tail.
Naruto stopped as the trio went past the genjutsu on the wall but Sakura Yuan just hit his head and carried him to the real room. Sasuke was impressed but kept silent. After Naruto started shouting his beliefs and shit, Sakura inwardly praised him, intending to get all the attention she could. Then Kabuto approched them, giving them some info about the exam.
"This guy seems fishy. I will definitely get his memories."
Fang Yuan wasn't really interested in any other person except one.
"Wow, I already got two of them. I wasn't expecting a jinchuriki to be sent outside their nations, much less to an exam. Aren't they supposed to be nukes?"
Fang Yuan did not know about Suna and Orochimaru's plan of the Konoha crush and even if he did, he would not care either. Whatever happens, he would be the winner.
Then the written exams started. The questions posed no difficulty to Fang Yuan but he noticed the aim of the exam too. Information gathering. Fang Yuan quickly solved all the questions and observed his teammates. Sasuke was on the verge of realizing the goal of the exam but Naruto wasn't. He was shivering reading the questions. Fang Yuan scoffed deciding to wait a little for Naruto to find a way himself.
After waiting for a while, Fang Yuan noticed a kind of bullet about to hit him but he didn't dodge as he didn't sense an intent of harm from it's user. He realized this was a technique of the Inoichi clan he learned after reading the memories of the Anbu who killed his mother.
"Her team has a person from the Nara and another from Akimichi. I am interested in the shadow manipulation so I will let her do it I guess"
Ino took over her body and copied all his answers. Just after she copied all of them, Fang Yuan broke the jutsu. Then used it on Naruto.
"This dumbass hasn't even answered a single question and still hasn't given up? Commendable I guess. I will write the answers just in c..."
Fang Yuan suddenly found himself in a dark place with a cage in front of him. He was suprised he wasn't in Sakura's body. He was his baby self with a fox in front of him. The 9 tail's eyes widened seeing a baby with so much chakra just standing there.
"Who are you brat?" The 9-tails asked with some speculation. It thought the baby was the reincarnation of Asura as no one else could have so much chakra as a newborn. Before answering, Fang Yuan used his new familar face to turn into his adult self. Then
"Fang Yuan." Fang Yuan said with an unwavering tone.
Naruto was looking at the two from the side, not understanding anything happening. Who was this baby man conversing with the 9-tails.
"Hey, who are you and what are you doing ins"
"Shut up jinchuriki." Fang Yuan cut Naruto off.
"Normally, Naruto would be pissed but right now, he was terrified. Under both the pressure of somebody coming into his body and the presence of the 9-Tails, he just chose to observe.
"Kid, are you Asura's reincarnation by any chance?"
"Shut up and stay still fox. I am not interested in something that hasn't even tried to get stronger in countless years."
Fang Yuan was interested in who Asura was right now but he decided in the future he would use genjutsu to read the memory of the 9-Tails.
"You are definitely not Asura." The 9-Tails said in a mocking tone, expelling him from Naruto's body.
Naruto was really confused about what happened and was about to look around but realized he would be disqualified if he did so so he looked at his own paper. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"That stranger must have done this. But what was that about owning 9 tails. Is he going to steal it from me. Not that I mind, I will gladly give it away. What a generous person." Naruto thought.
Fang Yuan rolled his eyes at Naruto's reaction as he could read him like a book. He then looked at Sasuke who had already finished all the questions so Fang Yuan decided to look around, trying to find techniques worth copying. After a while, he noticed Gaara manipulating sand and decided to test it out.
"What is happening to my sand. Is Mother about to leave. But I haven't slept. I can't let it out here. I wouldn't be able to kill as much." Gaara thought.
Gaara did not know his sand was getting controlled by none other than Fang Yuan, who was quickly getting better at sand manipulation. He was already near Gaara's level and would be better in a few minutes.
"I could use this. A weird combination of wind and earth path. Was it called magnet release? Is this jinchuriki from the Kazekage bloodline? Either way, the wood path technique is stronger but this technique is more nimble." Fang Yuan thought.
Before Gaara got too annoyed and started a killing spree, Fang Yuan stopped using his sand and waited until the exam was over and they proceeded to the forest of death, the place he was anticipating the most.

After everyone arrived at the exam's location, Anko explained the rules. Fang Yuan frowned at one of the participants who was actually the disguise of Orochimaru but he couldn't see through his disguise, his instincts just told him to go after this person no matter what and that was what Fang Yuan was planning to do. Then the exam started.
Every team went in from different gates and went deeper into the forest. Fang Yuan's team did the same except a tiny difference. As soon as Fang Yuan went in, he knocked out both Naruto and Sasuke and shortly after, he sensed immense killing intent coming from the person he felt threatened by.
"I thought you were talentless trash? Are you really Haruno Sakura?"
"Do you think so?" Fang Yuan said and attacked the man.
Orochimaru scoffed.
"I am not interested in fighting a civilian ninja with nothing to her name."
Orochimaru used paralysis jutsu and approched Sakura. As he went past her, he felt a great threat and flickered away. He saw a sharp pillar with a spear on top which would have penetrated him if he hadn't evaded.
"Wood release? Yamato?"
"Wrong." Fang Yuan said, breaking the paralysis jutsu on him. He then transformed into his real adult form, ready to face the most dangerous of the Sannin, Orochimaru.
"I thought you had left the village. Why are you in the chunin exams." Fang Yuan said as he let out his chakra, matching and even surpassing Orochimaru's.
"I was interested in that brat with the sharingan, but it seems I found gold looking for silver." Orochimaru said, not discouraged at all from the difference in chakra. Orochimaru coveted the overwhelming power of the sharingan but he knew if this was a real wood release user on par witg the First, a mere sharingan was worthless in front of him. Orochimaru directed all his killing intent at Fang Yuan, aiming to overwhelm him but suddenly
"Pitiful" said Fang Yuan inwardly. "How many did you even kill?" He said.
"More than I care to count" Orochimaru answered with a little confused.
"Hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands perhaps."
Orochimaru was puzzled. Fang Yuan did indeed look like the type to see himself as a hero, but he surely didn't act like it before when knocking out 2 unsuspecting genins. He didn't expect Fang Yuan would be interested in the amount he killed because he assumed Fang Yuan was a hidden rogue ninja or a hidden weapon of another big nation as Orochimaru didn't know about him at all. Now that he thinked about it, Fang Yuan seemed strangely calm about so many getting killed too. It is like it was natural to him.
"Don't get it wrong, this isn't anger, this is pity." Fang Yuan said as he finally let out his killing intent for the first time in this life.
Fang Yuan's killing intent was entirely different from Orochimaru's. Orochimaru wanted to research, disect, learn everything about the one he wanted to kill. He wanted to learn every secret of the body in front of him while Fang Yuan, he didn't care about that. Fang Yuan exuded an aura that said he knew everything already. Orochimaru felt like an open book, with no way to retaliate. He felt like he could be squashed like a bug at any moment Fang Yuan wished. He wasn't the predator anymore, he was the prey, unable to escape the almighty claws of the monster in front of him.
