"You have nowhere to run," the pirate captain sneered as he saw the 'golden fox' cornered against a cliff, surrounded by mercenaries and armed pirates.
"Oh no... What are they going to do to me?" More than one felt uncomfortable upon seeing the woman touch her breasts and slowly open her jacket, revealing that she wasn't wearing a bra.
"We will have fun with you and then claim my reward," the captain grinned lustfully, lunging towards her with his sword, intent on subduing her to tie her up and take her aboard his ship. But then, something unexpected happened.
"What-" His eyes widened as a cloud of smoke enveloped the woman.
"ku ku ku… come for your reward"
None of them would forget this unforgettable scene etched in their memories until the day they died. Before them stood a figure with very pale skin, long dark hair, eerie snake-like eyes, and, most shockingly, complete nudity.
"Whhhaa~!" The captain's reaction was swift and visceral. He retched and threw himself onto the ground, scooping handfuls of dirt to hurl into his own eyes.
….
Later that night, after buying almost everything they found interesting, the Avatar team set up camp at the base of a mountain. A large bonfire crackled in the center of their campsite.
Katara couldn't help but give her brother a strange look. He sported a detective hat, had a pipe in his mouth, and donned a big brown jacket that he seemed quite proud of. "You know, I never really appreciated this style," he declared with an air of importance. "But I feel rather distinguished." He tried to light his pipe with a match but ended up coughing loudly instead.
Katara raised her hand to her forehead, watching her brother's futile attempts at smoking. "Did you really think smoking was a good idea?" she chided.
Sokka defended himself, pointing a teasing finger at Katara. "Hey, don't say anything. I wasn't the one who spent almost a quarter of our money on clothes and shoes." He glanced toward the bushes where Katara had stashed several boxes.
"But Naruto said we could buy whatever we want!" Katara retorted, crossing her arms defensively.
Sokka chuckled. "You know, if you put a dress on a grumpy bear, it's still just a bear." His smile disappeared as Katara lunged at him, and they began a wrestling match.
Aang observed the commotion with a smile and decided to distract Appa from the sibling rivalry by feeding him a barrel full of apples. As a monk, Aang didn't place much value on material possessions. He had purchased a variety of fruits and vegetables for Appa and Momo, and a whistle whose functionality he hadn't quite figured out yet. Turning to Naruto, he noticed the blonde engrossed in examining a bowl of noodle soup and various vegetables. With determination, Naruto took a taste, devouring several noodles.
"Another failure!" Naruto dramatically placed the bowl on the table and shifted his attention to a nearby pot.
"Failed?" Aang's curiosity was piqued as he reached for the bowl. Upon discovering that there was no trace of meat, a smile crept onto his face. It was vegetarian food. He picked up the chopsticks and began to eat. "Wow..." The noodles were incredibly soft, the soup was light yet flavorful, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. This was undoubtedly the best bowl of noodle soup he had ever tasted.
"It seems you like it." Naruto grinned and placed three more bowls on the table. With a ladle, he began to serve the steaming soup.
"What's this?" The two brothers halted their scuffle when they caught a whiff of the tempting aroma in the air. Katara abandoned her brother's back and approached to take one of the bowls.
"It's the food of the gods, Katara-chan." Naruto stirred the pot and then fell silent, observing as the two brothers eagerly sat down to eat.
"This is delicious." Sokka dove headfirst into his bowl, needing sustenance after such a long day.
"You're right." Katara expressed her appreciation by helping herself to another serving. "I've never tasted anything like this. What's it called?"
"It's called ramen, the best food in the world." Naruto added some salt to the pot, continuing to stir with the ladle. He then sampled the soup himself. "Too bad it's not even close to being as good as the ramen from the old man at Ichiraku's and Ayame-nee's."
The day Naruto discovered that ramen didn't exist in this world had been a rather gloomy one for him. However, after nearly begging Yuei on his knees to teach him how to cook, he had committed every ingredient used for ramen to memory. Although he couldn't acquire certain ingredients due to their unavailability, he had the basics: noodles and broth. It was enough to create ramen that came close to Ichiraku's.
Regrettably, he still felt like he was decades away from recreating one that matched its perfection. As hours passed, the small group contentedly gathered around the fire, relishing the tranquility after such a frenzied day.
"Naruto... do you have parents?" Katara gazed at Naruto with her soft blue eyes, and Sokka and Aang also regarded the ninja with curiosity.
