Chapter 12 - Sharingan

----------------------------------

Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish!

Six shuriken zipped through the air, launched with precision from Ruri's hand. Their angles were deliberate, each trajectory carefully chosen to box Natsuki Matao into a corner.

The Uchiha clan's proficiency with shurikenjutsu was legendary, and Ruri's skill only reinforced that reputation. Even though Natsuki had trained extensively in this technique, he knew better than to underestimate her.

Fortunately, countless sparring sessions had taught him Ruri's patterns. As the shuriken closed in, Natsuki drew a kunai, deflecting the projectiles in quick succession. Sparks lit up the dim forest as steel met steel.

But before he could catch his breath, another six shuriken hurtled toward him. Natsuki didn't let them get close. His kunai moved like a blur, deflecting each one with precision honed through hours of practice. Without hesitation, he sprinted forward, closing the distance between them.

He preferred close combat where he could read his opponent's movements directly. Their kunai clashed with incredible speed. Every strike and counterstrike cracked through the air, filling the forest with an atmosphere of tension and purpose.

Just as Natsuki thought he was gaining an edge, Ruri did something unexpected—her hands began weaving a series of seals.

No, not both hands—just one.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

Natsuki's eyes widened in surprise as he dodged the incoming fireball.

'Single-handed seals? Seriously?' Single-handed seals were extremely rare, a technique reserved for only the most skilled or naturally gifted shinobi. Although Natsuki had read about them in his previous life, seeing it first hand was entirely different. His respect for Ruri's abilities rose even further.

'Leave it to an Uchiha to pull this off' he thought, moving quickly to avoid the roaring inferno. The massive fireball crashed into a tree, engulfing it in flames. The blaze roared, consuming the tree's branches, before the trunk collapsed with a loud crack.

Natsuki exhaled slowly, taking a moment to steady himself. "That was too close..."

He didn't have much time to reflect, though. His surroundings suddenly shifted. The world seemed to blur and spin unnaturally, and an ominous sense of vertigo overtook him. He realized something was wrong too late.

When he looked up, his breath caught.

Ruri's eyes had transformed. The ordinary black of her irises was now a deep crimson, with two black tomoe spinning in each pupil.

The Sharingan.

Natsuki froze. His thoughts raced as the weight of her bloodline limit washed over him. The infamous Sharingan wasn't just a tool for analyzing movements; it was also a weapon for controlling the battlefield. With the Sharingan, Ruri could predict his every move and use powerful genjutsu to overwhelm him.

In his disoriented state, Natsuki fell prey to the illusion. He tried to resist, but her genjutsu pierced through every mental barrier he put up. It was like trying to stop the tide with his hands.

'So, she's unlocked her Sharingan... and it's already at two tomoe.' The thought filled him with resignation. Ruri had always been a prodigy, but this marked a turning point. The Uchiha were feared for a reason, and now, with her newfound power, she was even more dangerous.

For shinobi across the world, there was a saying: "If you encounter an Uchiha with the Sharingan in one-on-one combat, your best chance is to run."

Natsuki now understood why.

The Sharingan didn't just enhance perception—it allowed its wielder to predict an opponent's actions, copy techniques, and wield devastating genjutsu. Ruri had always been formidable, but now even seasoned jonin would struggle to keep up with her.

Where he once thought their battles were evenly matched, he now realized the truth. This was no longer a fair fight.

"I... give up—" Before Natsuki could finish, Ruri strode over and stomped on his face.

Natsuki raised his Hand to block the stomp, simultaneously raising his eyebrow questioningly, Why would she try to Stomp on his face? did she think he was some kind of Chinese MC who liked getting stomped by little girls even though he was a doctor AND An Adult in his previous life?

He used this weird situation to his advantage, circulating Chakra in his body to remove the Genjutsu. Finally, as the genjutsu dissolved, he sat up, brushing dirt off his clothes.

"Ruri," he said with a Smirk that masked his true intentions. "If you're going to try and Use Your Sharingan on me, at least Don't use Genjutsu, I feel like vomiting!"

Her crimson eyes returned to their natural black, but her glare remained. she glared at Natsuki holding his mouth, trying to control his vomit to not come out. "You're unbelievable."

"What? I'm just saying—"

"You're always like this!" she snapped. "Why do you keep holding back in class? You let everyone think you're weak when you're not! It's infuriating!"

Her words made Natsuki almost raise his eyebrow, but He knew she wasn't wrong. Ever since arriving in this world, he'd chosen to keep a low profile. Letting his classmates underestimate him felt like the safest option. But clearly, Ruri didn't see it that way.

"It's not a big deal," Natsuki said lightly, brushing her concerns aside. "I Just don't want others to know how strong I Am!"

"Oh, why is that?" she replied dryly, folding her hands in her chest, looking at Him in annoyance. Natsuki looks at her blankly.

"Because I don't want to have someone try and kill me like 'Someone' did so that they could 'test' my strength." Ruri turns her head to the side, acting like she didn't hear HIm. He looked at her blankly for a couple of seconds.

Changing the subject, Natsuki asked, "So, when did you awaken your Sharingan?"

Ruri crossed her arms. "The day the clan returned from the battlefield. A lot of them didn't come back. I... wasn't in the best state of mind."

Her words carried a weight that didn't match her stoic tone. Natsuki didn't press further. He knew from experience that loss was an unavoidable part of life in the shinobi world. The fact that she'd channeled that pain into unlocking her Sharingan only reaffirmed her strength.

"That makes sense," Natsuki said, nodding. "The Sharingan awakens during moments of intense emotion. Looks like the stories were true after all."

Ruri deactivated her Sharingan, clearly fatigued from maintaining it for so long. While she was adjusting quickly, the strain was still noticeable. As silence settled between them, Natsuki scratched the back of his head, his expression turning awkward.

"....so, I want to say- we MIGHT have to Change our Sparring schedule from every Sunday on Every week to twice a month." She glares at Natsuki, her sharingan once again activating. her anger can be literally felt, and even though Natsuki is Consciously much older than her, he knows that he shouldn't rile up a Girl who can kill him.

Ruri's hand moved to her kunai pouch. "If you want me to kill you, just say it.". Natsuki puts his hand in front of his face, pleading with her to just listen to him.

"I have got a job, which will be until I graduate. it is every single day of the first two weeks in a month." her Kunai spins or her finger, her anger increasing.

"You and your stupid Research better stop, or else i will Kill you Myself like i meant to years ago!" She stops spinning her Kunai, pointing it towards me. While he should be in fear, Natsuki is Annoyed at her behavior. Why would she care what Natsuki does with his time? She is still getting training right? Sure, she is getting less amount-

Ohhh. Natsuki sees WHY Ruri is pissed off. She already has a limited amount of training with him, but if it gets reduced even more, she won't have a good training partner. She is only respecting him for his strength after all.

"Now wait a second, without my Research, you wouldn't have gotten as strong as you are now. my Research is beneficial to you, so if i Stop, your growth will-"

"tch!" Like all Uchiha's before her, when she loses an argument and gets embarrassed, she does the Emo-Tone, acting indifferently.

"Where is your Job?" Natsuki grins at her, causing her to glare at HIm.

"The San Shop, I am working as a Blacksmith to get Money!" She looks surprised....and Nods in respect? But it would make sense.

The San Shop was a Blacksmith Shop which was opened in the Leaf Village After the Five-Great Shinobi nation was formed. His son does the Work after the Founder of the shop passed away due to Old age.
