Chapitre 7: THE DIVERSION

And suddenly she sits near his tomb and starts crying, even more, harder as if she lost someone very special with whom she spent her whole life and with the intensity of her cry, even the rainfall also starts getting out of control which now leaves everyone scared more than shock as suddenly the thunderbolt starts hitting the ground severely

But soon she tries to control her emotions looking the people scared in her surroundings and as soon as she leaves the place, the whole situation again turns normal and instead of going home she goes on the outskirt of the city which was her favorite place where she likes to spend some time whenever she would be happy or sad or even feels neutral

And she just sits on one of the benches kept there and opens her diary which she always carries with her and notes down her emotions in it especially when she used to be sad and thus she starts penning down her emotions in regards to which she writes some of the important conversations between her and uncle Salmon and after noting it down

Scarlett again continues walking only to stop outside her apartment and she just stares at the door rather than getting inside as if she was not interested in even entering inside her house after which she looks at her watch and comes across the fact that it's 10 PM and very soon after that she takes out the phone from her pocket and ends up messaging the manager of the company

"I won't come to work tomorrow as I am still not in a very good condition and hence need some more time to rest - Scarlett Evans"

And after sending the message, she now puts her thumb on the security system which soon opens the door after scanning and matching her thumbprint with the system and as the door opens, the very next moment she hears

"Welcome back Miss Scarlett Evans, it's 10:02 PM", which was done by an automatic system in the security system which also keeps track of the entry and exit of its owner and soon after her entry inside, the door locks automatically in a few milliseconds

And instead of eating, she rather goes to her bed and as soon as she enters her bedroom, the AC system automatically detects her entry and it starts with the controlled temperature according to her body heat which was determined by the sensors in it and this fully automatic flat was given to her by the law firm in which she was working

And she also falls flat on the bed by putting the TV on which was also voice-controlled and starts finding a good movie to watch as she was feeling very low only for her to stumble upon her favorite movie named, "LOVE WAS WHEN I LOVED YOU" when she surfs movie channels

She starts watching it by playing it from the beginning as the half movie was already gone when she finally finds it out and as usual, she just stares at the protagonist of the film named Noah who has been her heartthrob since she saw him for the first time in the same film around 5 years back when it was released

And since then she has watched this film for more than 200 times only to hit on the protagonist of the film as she was the kind of guy about which she has always thought of to be her life partner, urge of which has been increasing continuously in her since last few months as she has already wasted 230 years of her life without any partner

But before the film could get over, she ends up sleeping as she was extremely exhausted and tired as well with whatever happened the whole day, only to wake up listening to the bell and she stumbles across a fact that someone was standing outside her house as announced by the security system

Upon which she looks into the camera which was installed in her house to have look at the one who was standing outside which was installed in her bedroom itself and upon looking at it she comes across a girl who was standing outside her house which leaves her little baffled as she hasn't seen this girl before hence she just orders the system to open the door

But as soon as the door opens, she sees that the girl was nowhere to be seen anymore who was standing there just a few moments ago and while she was thinking about the same that girl once again appears before her who was around 8 years old and seems like she was there for some kind of help which was visible through her action

"Hey, I am Stephanie but you can also call me Steph which is short, sweet, and simple and sorry to bother you so late at night but I needed your help as my mom hasn't yet come back from her work and tomorrow is a fancy dress competition in my school for which she told me that she will come and help me with my theme dress", The girl speaks out the reason to bother Scarlett so late in the night

"Who is your mom?", Scarlett asks her with a kind of stress on her face

" Laura Schmidt", The girl responds with a wide smile on her face

"And what is your theme for the competition in which you have taken part ?", Scarlett questions her once again after knowing that she was the daughter of Laura who was her good friend

"Vampire, I am going to dress like the vampires as I like those creatures as they have some cool powers which h everyone wants to attain", The girl responds with a reaction that she knows very much about vampires upon which Scarlett gives a wide smile to her

"Then I'll surely help you out because I like them too as they are cool without any doubt", Scarlett tells to help her out with her dress for the next day competition and soon she starts preparing a dress for her out of some black clothes which was spare in her wardrobe

And within a matter of an hour, she prepares a beautiful dress which will perfectly resemble the vampire and the girl can surely win the competition with some beautiful makeup on her face which will add more life to the theme

"Here is your vampire dress and now you just have to put on some makeup while you get ready for the competition tomorrow morning while going to school", Scarlett tells her while showing her the dress who was watching an animation show on TV

But when Scarlett stumbles into her bedroom, she comes across the fact that the girl already slept on her bed and so she just switches off the TV and just covers her with a blanket while she settles in the hall on the sofa to sleep as it was already 11:30 PM by then
