9.63% My Neighbor Calls Me Daddy / Chapter 40: Strategy Meeting

Chapitre 40: Strategy Meeting

Wednesday was the most average day I've had for awhile. There were simply normal class in the morning. A lunch where Leo and Rebecca would banter for the whole hour while James and I would simply eat our food, rarely talking. The afternoon class was normal as well. For basketball practice, we finally took a coach bus to another school for an exhibition match which ended up with our win.

Later, Leo and I headed to Adrian's house. Adrian was still brooding on what he wanted as a favor, while I whipped him a few times.

At night, I returned home. Leo headed back to his home as well.

I took a shower and headed to sleep in the master bedroom. With Father back, it was the first time in weeks that I got myself into a comfortable, deep sleep without any disturbances.

**********

The next day was another normal day. Except for the fact that I was forced to participate in the strategy meeting again. Luckily, there were nothing perverted that happened this time. Instead, there were serious debates about what Leo should do for the next two weeks.

"I think we should just have Hunter showcase his basketball skills, that will surely impress the girls and get them to vote." Rebecca suggested.

"I doubt it." I countered. "The purpose of the election is to elect Leo to be president, not me. Besides what has basketball skills gotta do with handling the affairs of the whole student body?"

Rebecca pouted. I think he just wanted to see hot guys fondling with balls again.

Leo suddenly had an idea. "Why don't we invite the freshmen over for a party. That will loosen them up and get them to vote for me. They can also get to know me better."

"Mhm..." Rebecca nodded. "But is your house large enough for the entire freshmen body? There are 120 students in Grade 9, not including others that might get invited along."

Leo frowned. "That's right... why don't we ask if we can hold the party in Adrian's place, Hunter?" Leo asked.

"No." I shook my head. "I don't think holding a party at another person's house will garner their votes, since you would not be able to show your sincerity to them. Also, I highly doubt Mr. Spencer would ever borrow his place for us to hold a party, given how expensive his house is."

"Well does anyone have any other ideas?" Leo asked.

"Why don't we hold a mixer?" One of the girls suggested. "We all know that Hunter and Leo will probably get all the women's votes, we can get the boys in Grade 9 to be appreciative towards us by introducing girls to them."

"But how are we going to find that many girls?" One of the girls asked.

"It's simple. I'll simply post online that Hunter is doing an interview for a prospective girlfriend, and that he'll host a mixer to get to know the girls better. That way, the girls would be enticed to come, and the boys will be happy with all the girls swarming around." Leo exclaimed.

"Fine. But we still need to find a place that can hold a mixer." I said.

"I'll ask my dad to reserve an entire restaurant for me this Sunday. Then, I'll invite the girls and boys to come over." Leo replied.

"That's great!" Rebecca exclaimed. "Now that that's out of the way, we should also try and maintain our popularity within our own grade. After all, two of the classes in Grade 10 didn't vote for you."

Leo nodded. "Well, it might not matter since we only need a simple majority from the Grade 10. Still, I guess we should do something about it."

"Why don't we promise that someone from the classes that didn't vote for us in Grade 10 will get an influential seat in the Student Council. That will convince the Grade 10s to vote for us, right?" I said calmly.

"That might be true, but people are selfish." Leo retorted. "If we promised a seat, people will be too busy fighting for that seat. Then, out of frustration, they might just vote for Mike instead."

I sighed. "Instead of thinking of how to get more votes, why don't we think about retaining the votes we currently have."

Leo frowned.

"I'll announce to the Grade 10 girls that if they vote for Leo, provided with evidence, they will receive a handmade chocolate by me for Valentine's Day next year." I said.

The girls in the room started screaming in excitement.

"No!" Leo vehemently denied. "The only person you're allowed to make chocolate for is ME! If you have to make chocolate to get votes, I'll rather not be Student Council President."

The declaration from Leo made the fujoshis scream even louder. I furrowed my brows. "Then what should we do?"

"By the way, Hunter." Leo asked, "How did you convince the teachers to vote for us?"

I was very reluctant to reply so I shut my mouth.

Leo leaned over and rubbed his cheeks against mine. "Come on, Hunter, just tell me. I'll give you a candy later, okay?" Leo coaxed.

I rolled my eyes. "Do you really want to know?" I asked coldly.

"Yes." Leo nodded.

"I promised the principal that I will attend the International Math Olympics next year." I said.

The people in the room gasped. Leo, however, already knew about my nomination letter from last year and was not surprised. "I thought you said the IMO was too annoying and you would not go?"

"Well I didn't have anything else to use as leverage." I replied.

Leo thought for awhile before asking, "Have you been asked to join any other national teams?"

I rolled my eyes, "Do you know how hard it is just to get nominated to a national team in the High School Olympics?"

"That is not a no." Leo raised an eyebrow.

I sighed. "If I work overnight, I might be able to get myself invited to the International Computer Science Olympics next year as well."

If it was coming from anyone else, it would come off as arrogant, but it seemed everyone believed me when I said I could get into another national team. I sighed. "I really dug a hole for myself, haven't I."

Leo's eyes immediately brightened. "Alright! Why don't you tell the principal that if you were to attend the ICSO, the teachers will give the students in Grade 9 and 10 a 1% increase in total marks after the final exam if they vote for me?"

"As if the principal would do that!" I rolled my eyes. "That's just blatant favoritism, not only will the school's image take a blow, the upper year students can sue us!"

Leo sighed. "Fine. Does anyone else have any ideas?"

Nobody raised their hands.

"Let's just do the Valentine's Day thing then." Leo said gloomily.

**********

Leo sulked for the rest of the day. I had no time to coax Leo in the afternoon since I was coaching Adrian, but when we headed back, I said, "Don't worry I'll just make a small piece of chocolate for the girls. It's just gonna be like those obligatory chocolates, without any emotions."

"But you're still giving them out!" Leo continued sulking.

"Fine. What do you want, Leo?" I asked gently.

Leo stared at me and said, "F**k me. I want you to ram your d*ck hard into my-"

"No. I'm being serious here, Leo. Stop joking." I immediately stopped Leo from continuing on.

"Fine. Go on a date with me again." Leo said.

I struggled with myself for awhile before finally stating, "Fine. I'll go on a date with you."

"And whenever I ask you to go out with me in the future, you must say yes." Leo said after my agreement.

"No, don't push it too far, Leo." I warned.

Leo pouted, he instantly turn depressed. If he were a puppy, his ears would have duped downwards. Unable to bear that look, I reluctantly spouted out something I thought I would never say, "Fine. I promise."

Leo instantly turned happy, he leaned on my shoulder and closed his eyes. "Hunter, you're the best." He said in a contented tone.

I sighed. "I really don't know what to do with this kid." I thought to myself.

**********

After I returned home, I headed to the master bedroom to find my father in a black suit. He was taking a sniper rifle from the hidden room and placing it in a trombone case.

"Are you heading out, Father?" I asked in a low voice.

Father nodded. He came over and ruffled my hair.

"Be safe, Father." I muttered softly before hugging him.

"Mhmm. I promise." Father replied gently.

He placed me on the bed and wrapped his arms around me, watching me sleep. After I fell into a deep sleep, he gently got up from the bed and tiptoed out of the house.
